DERBAN - Blanche (nee Jacobson), born October 1, 1905 in Bergen, Norway. Died February 26th 2000 in her 94th year. Predeceased by her husband Carey; mother Patrene; father Anton; sisters Camilla, Carol and Brenda; brother John; and son Vance. Blanche will be lovingly missed by her sons Darrell (Jackie) and Charley (Allisen); daughter Orayne; brothers Alf and Einer; and by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family. Blanche spent her early years in Bergen, Sarpsborg and Setterness, Norway. She came to Canada in the spring of 1913 and lived in Naramata, Britannia Mines, Port Kells and Beaver Valley (near Williams Lake). She worked as a cook in hotels in Williams Lake and Lillooet, where she met her husband Carey Derban. They were married October 1st 1927 and lived at the Derban homestead at Seton Lake, B.C. for 15 years, where their four children were born. In 1942 the family moved to Vancouver, B.C. where Blanche resided for the remainder of her life. Memorial Service to be held at Hollyburn Funeral Home, 1807 Marine Drive, West Vancouver, B.C. on Saturday, March 4th, 2000 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Cliff Henning officiating. Cremation. DOYLE - June Ottelia born in Sweden, June 2, 1910, passed away peacefully on February 23, 2000. Predeceased by her husband James and her son Ronald. She is survived by her son Larry Doyle (Monika); daughter Sandra Bradshaw (Lawrence); and her daughter-in-law Sheila Doyle. She is also survived by her grandchildren Aeron, Graeme, Stuart, Laura, Kristina, Alysa and Jeremy; and her great-grandchildren Jesse, Dustin and Christopher. June came to Canada from Sweden in 1925 and first lived in Alberta, then Nanaimo, Trail, Vancouver and lived in Burnaby for the last 30 years. June was a volunteer at Riverview Hospital for some 25 years and was also an active member of the South Burnaby Stroke Recovery Club. June was a wonderful caring person, loved by all. She will be deeply missed by all her family and friends. No service will be held by her request. A family memorial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society of B.C. or the South Burnaby Stroke Recovery Club would be appreciated.

GAUVIN - Henri, born August 31, 1915, passed away February 29, 2000 at Burnaby General Hospital after a long courageous battle with cancer. GIRODAY - Marie Louise, age 39, passed away suddenly. Marie is survived by daughter Danielle; 2 brothers, Paul (Dagmar) Giroday, and Peter (Marilu) Giroday; 2 sisters, Janice (Sid) Sigfusson, and Annette (Felix) McDowall; nieces and nephews Laura, Mike, Brian, Taya, Lukas, Allison, and Paula. JACK - Archie M. Jack of Kamloops, born February 28, 1934 in Kilsyth, Scotland, passed away suddenly on February 26, 2000. Left to mourn his passing are his loving family, his wife, Bobbie of 41 years; his sons, Rod (Jill) Jack and Craig (Donna) Jack both of Pinantan Lake, B.C.; his daughter, Brenda (Rick) Neall of Surrey, B.C.; his 4 loving grandchildren Dustin and Lindsay Jack, Erin and Matt Neall of whom he was so proud. Predeceased by his loving daughter, Karen; father, Robert; mother, Barbara; and brother, Roy. He also leaves to mourn his passing, brothers, Tom (Tina) Jack of Sydenham, Ontario and Ian Jack of Port Coquitlam; sisters, Janet Harden of Coquitlam, Renee (Ron) Reid, Richmond, B.C., and Barbara of North Vancouver; and many nieces and nephews, also his cousins and many friends in Scotland. JOHNSON - Oscar Bernard, in his 88th year, passed peacefully at Marwood Centre, Langley on February 25, 2000. Predeceased by his first wife Kay in 1966; his 2nd wife Helen in 1991; one brother Art; 2 sisters Inez and Ellen. He is survived by sons Colin (Jenny) and Robert; daughter Karen (Gerry); 2 granddaughters Katie (Randy) and Kim; one sister Arlene Campbell of Canal Flats, B.C. and by numerous nieces and nephews. He was a longtime resident of Gibsons and the Sunshine Coast. He retired after 25 years as a Steam Engineer at CFP Port Mellon and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 109. Memorial Service at 12:00 noon on Friday, March 3, 2000 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Gibsons, BC. Mr. Johnson's ashes will be distributed at Mariner's Rest. Flowers gratefully declined. JOHNSTONE - Anne Florence passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on February 24, 2000 after a long life of 92 years. She will always be remembered by her family: brother Dick Weller (94 years old); daughters Sharon Laviolette and Catherine Hyland; sons-in-law Larry and Ken; grandchildren Denise, Suzanne, Greg, Colleen and Shannon; 7 great-grandchildren; and other relatives. Anne was predeceased by her loving husband Raymond in 1980 after 47 years of marriage.
