Helena Bartel (nee Peters) passed away peacefully at the Menno Home, Abbotsford, B.C. on Feb. 9, 2003 at the age of 102. Born in the Ukraine on Nov. 26, 1900 (third oldest in a family of 9 children.
Helena immigrated to Canada in 1930 and married Peter in 1938 in Rabbit Lake, SK. They moved to Sumas Prairie in 1939 and farmed there until retiring to the Abbotsford area in 1969. Helena, along with Peter, became residents of the Menno Pavilion/Home in 1995. She is predeceased by all her siblings (5 brothers and 3 sisters); her daughter Annie in 1944 and her husband Peter in 1999.
Helena is survived by her two sons, Art (Marlene) of Cloverdale, B.C., Henry (Nancy) of Calgary, AB., grandchildren Ken (Penny), Tammy (Rick), Donna (Mike), Michael (Gail), Paul (Caroline) and 7 great-grandchildren.

Wilson (Bill) Hyatt passed away peacefully at The Cottage in Abbotsford, B.C., on Saturday February 8th, 2003, at the age of 92.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mollie; his children; Bob of Russell, Manitoba, Jim (Linda) of Toronto, Ontario; his 3 grandchildren, Rick & son Nicholas of Minnedosa, Manitoba, Kim (Kevin) Finnbogason, Amanda & Madison of Winnipeg, Manitoba, David & sons Keith, Carl & Logan of Brandon, Manitoba.
Bill spent 45 years working for the Toronto Dominion Bank in numerous locations in Manitoba & Saskatchewan.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p. m. on Wednesday, February 12, 2003 at Gladwin Heights United Church, 3474 Gladwin Road, Abbotsford, B.C. Reception to follow.

Surrounded by her loving family, Cindy Marlene Sturwold passed away peacefully at MSA Hospital and went home to be with her Heavenly Father on February 8, 2003 at the age of 47 years.
Lovingly remembered by her beloved husband Stan and family Nichole (20), Tyler (18), Jodie (15) and beautiful little Sierra (4), who was our anchor throughout mommy's illness. Also, her loving mother Helen MacKenrod, sister Sandy Tipton, niece Sarah and nephew Jeff, aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was predeceased by her father Dwight MacKenrod in 1983.
Cindy was a career woman and a full-time mom who always made time for family. That was most important to her. Her wonderful wisdom, laughter and easy going attitude gave her the ability to succeed in both her family and professional life.
The memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 13 at 1:00 p. m. in Sevenoaks Alliance Church, 2575 Gladwin Road, Abbotsford. A private family burial service will be held on Thursday morning prior to the memorial service. In lieu of flowers, donations made in her memory to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.

Elison Martin, late of Sherwood Manor, Abbotsford passed away on June 9, 2003 at the age of 76 years, at MSA Hospital.
She is survived by 3 children; Rick Martin, Jack Martin and Kelly (Ardy) Wolden; 5 grandchildren.

Robert Henry (Bob) Larson, born March 25, 1925 in Humboldt, Sask. passed away on June 5, 2003 in Royal Columbian Hospital at 78 years of age. Predeceased by his parents Henry and Mariel and his baby daughter Ronda.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of 56 years Leone "Nonie", his children Wayne (Marion), Linda MacGregor (Bruce), Gerry (Mary), Dale (Cathy) and Daryl (Mariam); sisters Mariel Fitzsimmons (Irvin), Audrey Fatkin (Ritchie), Lois Williams (Ralph) and Ila Nelson (Irving); brother Chester (Ev) and Alvin (Charmaine); 14 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Bob moved with his family at a very young age to the Aldergrove area where his love of the woods and outdoor activites (logging, hunting and fishing) were first kindled. He served in the RCAF during WW11 as a tail gunner in the 408 Squadron on 1947. Bob married Nonie Cairns of Clayburn, and in 1953 they settled on a small farm near there, where he lived out his life.
Bob loved playing soccer and softball until past the age of 50 and he was a perennial coach of youth sports in the area. He was a long time member of the Abbotsford Legion Branch 15 (over 58 years). His ability to fix most things mechanical was appreciated by neighbours and friends.
Special thanks to the doctors and nurses at the Royal Columbian Renal Unit and the Abbotsford Community Dialysis for the outstanding care.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Wed. June 11 from 7 - 9 p. m. at the chapel of First Memorial Services, 27555 - 31st Ave., Aldergrove, B.C.
Funeral Service for Bob Larsen will be held Thursday, June 12th at 1:00 p. m. at Trinity Memorial United Church in downtown Abbotsford. Interment will take place immediately after the ceremony at Hazelwood Cemetery followed by tea hosted by Legion Branch 15 members.
In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Kidney Foundation of B.C. or a charity of choice.

Millicent "Maisie" Grace Ferguson passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 4, 2003 in her 95th year at Menno Home in Abbotsford, B.C. She was predeceased by her husband, Gordon and her son-in-law, Chester Gris.
She is survived by her daughters; Anne, Freda (George), Judy (Rowlay); seven grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Maisie will be remembered for her exuberant love of life.

Miriam Ruth Kehler passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, June 4, 2003 at age 51 years, surrounded by family and friends.
She is survived by her loving husband, Fred of 31 years; daughter Lara, son Tom, mother Agnes Falk, sister Karen, brothers Ron, Bob, Jim and Jack.

Katie Siemens, born on January 12, 1929 in Ukraine, passed away peacefully at home after a long and courageous battle with cancer on June 3, 2003. She was predeceased by her son Rudy, and her grandson Leon. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She was deeply devoted to her family and her church. Her home was always open to weLcome friends and family.
Katie is survived by her beloved husband Jake, sons Ervin and Vern (Charleen), daughter Charlotte (Jon), 10 grandchildren and her sister Mika.
