JONES, HENDRIKA - Sunday, 11 Apr 2004
September 30, 1926 - April 11, 2004
Riki passed away suddenly at her home. She was predeceased by Charlie, her loving husband of 55 years. Riki will be greatly missed by her 6 children, David (Sandra) of Salmon Arm, Adriana (Brian) Webber of Sherwood Park, Alberta, Charlene (Denis) Loewen of Kamloops, Michael (Theresa)of Abbotsford, Kim (Kimberly) of Abbotsford, Jackie (Paul) Beasley of Denver, Colorado, 14 grandchildren and 4. 9 great-grandchildren (the loves of Nana's life). Her brother John Nelis of Soda Crek, 7 brothers and sisters in Holland and many nephews and nieces. Extended family, Doug (Stella) Holbrow and their children.
Riki came to Canada from Holland as a beautiful war bride at the end of the Second World War. Riki and Charlie made their home in Abbotsford and their door was always open and the coffee pot always on for their many friends and neighbours. Riki was happiest when entertaining people or playing cards with friends and family. Riki instilled the love of family and gave her love unconditionally.
On the most beautiful Easter weekend on record Mom decided it was finally time to step aside and let others do the cooking. How fitting that this lovely person, the consummate mother for so many, should leave us at a time brilliant with sunshine and flowers.
So Riki finally took her business elsewhere because, as she often said " the service here is damn poor".
In memory of Riki and Charlie donations to the Alzheimer's Society would be appreciated.
