MARTENS, Annie - Tuesday, 17 Oct 2006
Annie Martens, late of Abbotsford, B.C., passed away on October 17, 2006 at the age of 99 years. She is survived by many nieces, ­nephews, other relatives and friends.
Annie was born in Orloff, Russia in March of 1907 and came to Vancouver from Alberta near the end of WWII, where she lived until moving to Abbotsford approximately 10 years ago.
Visitation will be held at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 2310 Clearbrook Rd., Abbotsford, B.C. from 3-4 pm on Thursday, October 19, 2006. Graveside service will be held at 9:30 am Friday, October 20, 2006 at Maclure Road Cemetery, Abbotsford, B.C. followed at 11:00 am with a Memorial Celebration at Clearbrook MB Church, 2719 Clearbrook Rd., Abbotsford, B.C.
Memorial donations in Annie’s name may be made to Gideons International P. O. Box 3619 (501 Imperial Rd.) , Guelph, ON N1H 7A2.

Cecil Geddes, on October 9th, 2006. Late of Mission, B.C., age 81 years. Predeceased by son Douglas in 2001. Survived by his wife Verna, 2 daughters, Linda and Debra (Neil) McCreedy; 7 grandchildren; 1 great-granddaughter; 2 brothers and 1 sister. Jack, Born 1925
Peacefully passed away October 7th, 2006 leaving his loving wife Doreen, of 61 years, and children Raymond (Tannis), Shoranne (Art), Bill (Lesley), Debbie, and 9 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
Jack served 32 years in the Canadian Armed Forces and 16 years at B.C. Transit. Many thanks for the fabulous care provided by the staff at the Pleasant View Care Home in Mission, B.C.

Zachary Hinchcliffe passed away suddenly on Thursday, October 12, 2006 at Mission, B.C. at the age of 14 years. He will be lovingly remembered by his ­parents Mary and Allan Hinchcliffe; his siblings Sydney, Tyler and Alexander; Grandma Betty Hinchcliffe; aunts, uncles, ­cousins and many friends.

HEDGES, Thomas “Tommy” Gilbert - Monday, 16 Oct 2006
Thomas “Tommy” Gilbert Hedges passed away at Mission Memorial Hospital on October 16, 2006 at the age of 93 years. Tommy was predeceased by his wife Ellen in 2001 and ­sister Catherine Wotherspoon. He will be lovingly remembered by his sister Ruth Cookman; his children Connie Miller, Barbara Crape (Gerald), Tom Hedges Jr. (Linda), Shelley Carter (Calvin) and Penny Hedges-Moorman (Greg); by Ellen’s children, Ed (Merilyn) Britten and Lillian (Frank) Driscoll; 20 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren and 3 more on the way as well as many extended family and friends. Tommy was a long time resident of Mission, moving here in the 1930s. He was a recent proud recipient of his 60 year Legion Service pin, a long time member of the Mission Masonic Lodge and a volunteer for the Mission Fire Department. He was also a bus driver for more than 36 years with Pacific Stage Lines and Pacific Coach Lines. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held at All Saint's Anglican Church, 33077 – 2nd Avenue, Mission on Friday, October 20, 2006 at 1:00 p. m. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Tommy to the B.C. Cancer Foundation or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.

KING, Bruce Rex - Sunday, 16 Apr 2006
Bruce Rex King suddenly passed away on Easter Sunday, April 16, 2006 at age 51 years. He is survived by wife and best friend Jean; children Debbie (John), Rose, Rob (Corrie) and seven grand­children. Bruce also leaves behind his father Rex King; brother Norm (Patricia) King; sister Darlene (Cliff) Gosling and nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his mother Emma King.
A celebration of Bruce's life will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, May 8, 2006 at the Rancho, 35110 Delair Rd., Abbotsford. Everyone is welcome.
The King family wish to thank the staff at MSA Hospital for their care and compassion.

KLASSEN (nee Handel), Doreen Bernice - Sunday, 30 Apr 2006
Doreen passed from death unto life into the presence of the Lord on April 30, 2006. She was born March 9, 1908 in Winnipeg, Manitoba and grew up in Headingly, Manitoba where her father was the warden of the prison. After moving back to Winnipeg she obtained a ­bachelor of education degree from the University of Manitoba. For many years she taught ­public elementary school. In 1943 she married John B. Klassen, from Gretna, Manitoba. They sub­sequently moved to Abbotsford, B.C. where Mr. Klassen purchased a raspberry/strawberry farm. Their son Ken was born October 19, 1945 and son Doug July 2, 1952. After retirement in 1968 the family moved to Kelowna. Doreen was predeceased by her husband John on August 22, 1975. She is survived by two sons: Ken from Kelowna and Doug from Burnaby; two grandchildren: James from Abbotsford and Dorrie Lynn from Sardis, B.C.
A graveside service will be held at the Kelowna Memorial park Cemetery (end of Bernard Ave.) on Friday, May 2 at 12:30 pm followed by a memorial service in Evangel Tabernacle, 3261 Gordon Dr., Kelowna at 1:30 pm with a reception to follow. Flowers gratefully declined.

Mrs. Edna Catherine Loewen late of Abbotsford passed away on April 27, 2006 at the age of 58 with her family at her side. She is survived by her loving husband David; son Steven (Martha) Martens; 2 step grandchildren Bryanna and Melissa; father George Martens; brother Vic(Barb) Martens and sister Alice (Joe) Morin; nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Edna was predeceased by her mother Sara Martens, brothers Robert Martens, Eddie Martens.
A Memorial Service will be held on - Wednesday May 10, 2006 at 3:00 pm from Henderson’s Funeral Chapel at 34537 Marshall Road, Abbotsford with retired Pastor Jake Tilitzky officiating. A reception will be held at Henderson’s following the service. Those desiring may make a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society (Brain Cancer Unit).

Cecil (Sonny) Snow of Abbotsford, B.C. formerly from Cape Breton, Nova Scotia passed away peacefully at Mission Memorial Hospice.
He is survived by his five children: Stephen (Gloria) Snow, Frances (Russ) Snow, Rose (Mark) Taylor, Gerard (Melissa) Snow, William (Connie) Snow and 11 grandchildren.
He will be greatly missed and forever in our hearts.

SZERZE, Oliver - Wednesday, 03 May 2006
Oliver Szerze passed away on May 3, 2006 at Langley Memorial Hospital at the age of 85 years. Born in Hungary in 1920, he immigrated to Mission, B.C. in January of 1957. Oliver enjoyed life to the fullest. He was a precision machinist in his youth and a computer whiz in his golden years. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Julianna; sons Oliver and Edward; daughter Judie; their spouses; and five grandchildren.
A Funeral Service will be held on - Wednesday, May 10, 2006 at 1:00 pm at Woodlawn Mission Funeral Home, 7386 Horne St., Mission, B.C. with Reverend Miklos Szigeti officiating. PIPER, Adelia Louise (nee Rohs) - Sunday, 30 Apr 2006

Adelia Piper departed to be with her Lord on April 30, 2006.
She will be deeply missed by George, her loving husband of 48 years; her sister Ruth Rohs; daughter Diane (Brian) Froelich; son Ian (Lynn); grandchildren Christina and Adam Froelich; nieces Shirley (Walter) Krahn, Karen Rohs, and Diane Baraniuk; nephews John Rohs and David Versluys; and their families. She also leaves many friends throughout the RCAF from her many years in a nursing career at home and abroad.
Adelia was born in Stonewall, Manitoba on June 28, 1926. She held the rank of Serving Officer with St. John’s Ambulance. We will remember her independence, determination and her ability to deal with the harder lessons of life throughout her lengthy illness. Many true friends will remember her life well spent in Kamloops and Abbotsford.
Always remembered

A Service of Remembrance will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, May 5, 2006 in the Kamloops Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Dawne Taylor officiating.

FRIESEN, Donald Roy - Tuesday, 02 May 2006
Donald Roy Friesen, born April 17, 1954 in Altona, Manitoba, died peacefully surrounded by many, many friends and family on May 2, 2006 at MSA Hospital.
Don started work at Fritz-Wright Suits and went on to Fraserway New & Used, later he worked with his father at Friesen's Mobile Repair Service until early retirement. Donald was predeceased by his father Diedrich H. Friesen in 2001 and by his sister Janie L. Friesen on May 1, 2006. Don, a friend to all, will be greatly missed by his mother Elsie Friesen, his siblings Francis (Glen) Gordon, Sharon (Garry) Mutter, Norma (Jim) Bavalis, Elmer Friesen, Edith (Larry) Thoreson, Peggy Friesen, Arnold Friesen and his longtime friend Carol Moore also remembering are 10 nieces and nephews and 5 great nieces and nephews and many friends who Donald considered part of his family.
A memorial service to celebrate Janie and Don's lives will be held at Henderson's Funeral Home Sunday, May 7 at 4:00 pm.

FRIESEN, Janie Lenore - Monday, 01 May 2006
Janie Lenore Friesen, born Feb. 1, 1951 in Altona, MB, died peacefully surrounded by her close family and friend on May 1, 2006 at St. Pauls Hospital. Janie worked at B.C. Tel for 30 yeas and lived the past 19 year at Sojourn. Janie was predeceased by her father Diedrich H. Friesen in 2001 and joined by her brother Don on May 2, 2006. She was truly a very special person. Left behind to cherish her memory are mother Elsie Friesen and siblings Francis (Glen) Gordon, Sharon (Garry) Mutter, Norma (Jim) Bavalis, Elmer Friesen, Edith (Larry) Thoreson, Petty Friesen and Arnold Friesen. Also remembering are 10 nieces and nephews and 5 great nieces and nephews and long time friend Judy Smith from Victoria, B.C. Janie had a second family at Sojourn who will miss her greatly.
A memorial service to celebrate Janie and Don's lives will be held at Henderson's Funeral Home Sunday, May 7 at 4:00 pm.

EWANCHUK, Tom - Saturday, 29 Apr 2006
On April 29, 2006, Tom went to be with his Lord. Tom was an active participant in his community working at the CLBC office and the Bethesda office where he was employed for a number of years. Tom was close to many friends at his church, Fresh Wind, his friendship group at Trinity CRC and his Bible study group at Grant West. Tom will be missed by Arlene, Mary, Philip, Beverly and Henry, his friends at West Abbotsford Home.
Special thanks to all those who visited with Tom during his illness and to the wonderful nursing care Tom received at MSA Hospital.
A memorial service was held on Wednesday, May 3, 2006 at 11:00 am at Trinity Christian Reformed Church 3215 Trethewey St, Abbotsford.
