Ernestine “Nesta” Burdus (nee Smith) passed away peacefully in Abbotsford on May 1, 2006 at the age of 93 years. She was born in Calgary, Alberta on April 12, 1913. Nesta is lovingly remembered by her daughter Bonny (Vaughan-Thomas) and her friend Gordon Rain. Granddaughters Debbie and her husband Rob Gottschalk of North Delta and Sandy and her husband Mark Bienge of Mission, BC and grandson Owen Vaughan-Thomas. Great grandchildren, Sarah, Andrea, Ryan, Bob, Mandy, Mattie, Ali, Owen and Raymond. Nesta was predeceased by her husband Jack in 1975, one sister Teresa Duncan and one brother Charles Smith.
Funeral Services will be held at Henderson’s Funeral Home on Saturday, May 6, 2006 at 2:00 pm with graveside service following at Oceanview Cemetery in Burnaby at approx. 4:00 pm. Special thank you to Lynn and her staff at Menno Hospital in Abbotsford. Donations in Nesta’s name may be made to the ALS Society.

Bergen, Isaac late of Abbotsford, formerly of Surrey, B.C. passed away November 11, 2004 at the age of 79 years, a proud member of the IBEW fo the past 55 years.
Survived by his loving family, anne, his wife for the past 55 years, children Ken (Rose) of New Westminster, Brenda Bergen of New Westminster, Glen (Colleen) of Surrey, 3 grandchildren, Ryan, Jeffrey and Melissa and sister Helen Krahn of Steinbach, Manitoba as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 20 @ 1 PM at Olivet Mennonite Church, 2630 Langdon St., Abbotsford B.C. FERGUSON, Adam - Saturday, 13 Nov 2004
Adam Ferguson of Mission, BC passed away on his birthday November 13, 2004 at the age of 85. Predeceased by his wife Florence, he will be lovingly remembered by his family, sons Tom (Mona), Bob, and daughter Mary (Ted); grandchildren Shelley, Jeffrey, Colin, Shawna, Aaran, Kelli, Victoria and Scott; great grandchildren Cameron and Kaia; and his good friends at E. C. U., particularly Keith Davies. The family is grateful to the staff of Mission Memorial Hospital, E. C. U. for their compassion and kindness. Adam was a veteran of WWII, had a love for life and particularly enjoyed woodworking, dancing, gardening, and fishing. He also had a wonderful sense of humour and will be sadly missed. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, November 18, 2004 at 11:00 a. m. at the Royal Canadian Legion, Br. # 57, 32627 Logan Ave., Mission, BC. Mrs. Elise Marguerite Richardson, late of Abbotsford, B.C., passed away, at 80 years of age, on November 10, 2004, to be with her Lord, at MSA Hospital, Cottage, ECU.
She is survived by her beloved husband Robert, her four children Murray (Heather) Richardson, Louise (Peter) Molinelli, Elaine (Rémy) Somenzi, and Glenn (Cara) Richardson. Loving Grandmother of Denyse (Joel), Derek (Angie), Allison (fiancé François), Andrew (Erin), Brent, Chelsea, Trent, and Jordan. Also survived by 3 great-grandchildren Ryanne, Connor, and Cameron.
Survived by her two loving sisters, Marguerite "Marnie" (Raymond) Taylor and Dawn (Bob) Willoughby. She was predeceased by her daughter Denyse-Ann, her brother Andy Giguère, her sister Marcelle Sawlor, her Mother Amelie and Father Albert Giguère.
She was a devoted and loving Mom and wife. She dedicated her life to the Lord and, as a Pastor’s wife, she worked tirelessly alongside her husband in the Alliance and Baptist ministries for more that 35 years. She loved music and organized many church concerts, led choirs, and taught music. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Mr. Jim (Carmen) Dale, late of Abbotsford passed away on November 9, 2004 at the age of 84 at MSA Hospital, Abbotsford, BC.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years Susanna and many friends and relatives.

Born on July 18th, 1925, Eric Richard Friesen, in his 80th year, passed away peacefully at the MSA Hospital on Wednesday, November 10, 2004 just before 4:00 in the morning. We are so thankful for the many extra years that we have enjoyed with him in spite of all his medical issues over the last 30 plus years.
He was born in Tiefengrund, SK, the third son of Richard and Emma Friesen. At the age of 5 he moved with his family to Carrot River where he spent his youth and got his schooling, until grades 11 and 12, which he finished at Rosthern Junior College. Christmas 1947 he moved to BC, where he met and then married Helena Driediger on November 8, 1952. They just celebrated their 52nd anniversary. They lived in Bradner, where they raised their 6 children., until 1985. Then they moved to Clearbrook. He has had a variety of jobs and occupations from road construction to sales, including his last employment at Peacock’s Furniture just before he took early retirement in 1984, so he could have time to enjoy his growing family. Besides family and church, he also enjoyed woodwork, walking and gardening.
Dad was predeceased by his parents and brothers, Max in 2001 and Alfred in 2002 (both of Fort St. John). He is survived by his beloved wife and sweetheart Helena; daughter Eileen (Al) Neufeld and their 4 daughters Tania (Andrew) Jackson with Emily and Sarah of Yemen, Denise (Dave) Friesen with an expected child, Christina and Alicia; son Rick (Sandy) and their 4 sons Richard of Grand Forks, BC, Ryan (Joanne) with Joshua and Adam of Chilliwack, Kevin (Julie) and Karl; son Robert (Tere) and their daughters Rachel and Renee; daughter Carla of Winnipeg, MB; daughter Rietta (Wes) Friesen and their children Michael, Benjamin and Molly; and son Perry (Dawna) and their sons Derek and Shawn of Regina, SK. All from Abbotsford unless otherwise noted. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends across Canada.
Graveside service was held on Sat. Nov 13, 2004 at 9:30 am at Maclure Rd. Cemetery followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00 a. m. from Olivet Mennonite Church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Camp Squeah, Hope, BC. 1-800-380-2267

LYBECK, Dennis Wayne - Monday, 08 Nov 2004
Dennis Wayne Lybeck passed away on November 8, 2004 in Mission at the age of 65 years.
Dennis was predeceased by his father Tony Lybeck. Dennis was survived by two daughters: Donna & Sonya and 3 grandchildren: Jamie, Tony & Joseph. He will be lovingly remembered by mother Verna Lybeck, sisters Betty Ann (Bruce) Norris, Donna (Stan) Ormsby, Adeline Vickers, uncle Russ (Fay) Lang, nieces and nephews.
Dennis was a member of the Elks Club of Mission for many years.
A memorial was held on Sunday, November 14 at 11:00 am at the Mission Elks Hall, 33336 2nd Avenue, Mission. Arrangements entrusted to Woodlawn Mission Funeral Home, cremation.

KEIS, Nicholas "Nick" - Friday, 05 Nov 2004
Nicholas "Nick" passed away on November 5, 2004 after a courageous battle with cancer. Born July 22, 1925 in Hungary, Nick immigrated to Canada with his family at the age of five. Nick was raised on family dairy farms in the Fraser Valley, and went on to UBC, graduating in 1950 with a degree in Agricultural Sciences plus teacher training. During WWII, Nick enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force and trained as a navigator. In 1948 Nick married Sophie and as they raised their four children he pursued a successful career in the communities of Quesnel, North Vancouver, Abbotsford, Queen Charlotte Islands and Princeton, progressing from a high school teacher to Principal and Superintendent. During this time he also went back to university and obtained a Masters Degree in Education.
Nick and Sophie retired to Armstrong in 1987 where he spent his retirement years on his beloved farm with a myriad of animals, plants, gadgets and tools. Nick’s annual outdoor Christmas light display was a splendor to behold and brought joy to all who drove by to see. During his retirement, Nick volunteered his time at the Interior Provincial Exhibition, as well as with the Mason’s Cancer Car program. Nick’s wisdom and his kind and gentle heart touched many people both within his family and those he met in his career.
He will be greatly missed by his wife Sophie, children Dennis (Moira), Laura, Arlene and Charlotte (Frithjof), grandchildren Jennifer, Cindy (John), Jason, Ryan, and Amelia, great-grandchildren Jesse, Jayden and Caitlyn, brother Frank (Julia), sister Ida, many nieces, nephews and friends.
A service celebrating Nick’s life will be held on Wednesday, November 10 at 1:00 p. m. at Trinity United Church, Vernon. Donations to the Masonic Cancer Car program would be appreciated in lieu of flowers.

Joseph "Joe" Eade, late of Abbotsford, formerly of Brantford, ON passed away on November 8, 2004 at the age of 69.
He is survived by his loving wife Donna, children Steve (Alisha), Shirley, and George, and grandchildren Taylor, Wyatt, Vincent, Steven, Megan, Crystal, and Dakota.
Each of his children was special and each was his favorite. Poppa especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.

It brings us great sadness to announce the sudden passing of Sonja Wetteland who passed away on November 7, 2004 at the age of 52. She was born on August 16, 1952 in Hitzhofen, Germany. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband John Hansen, her dear children, daughter Nikki (Nick) Honeyman and grandson Nathan, son Mike (Marie) Wetteland and grand-daughter Mikayla. Kenny, Edna passed away peacefully at Pleasant View Care Home, Mission on April 30, 2004 at 103 Years of age. Predeceased by husband, Jack in 1967 and son Jim in 1956.
Survived by daughters Louise (Larry) Abbotsford and Jean, Toronto; 7 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and many good friends. Edna graduated from the Winnipeg General Hospital in 1924 as a Registered Nurse. Mom will be sadly missed.

Earl Jonathan. Earl, late of Abbotsford, formerly of Prince George, passed away April 28, 2004 in Royal Columbian Hospital at age 67. Earl was born May 5th, 1936 in Prince George, B.C. and had lived in the Prince George area most of his life. Earl loved his family, grandchildren and friends.
During his years in Prince George, he had been in business and was later involved in the trucking industry. Earl thoroughly enjoyed hunting, fishing and outdoor activity and had spent some time as a big game guide.
Earl is survived by his wife Ella, sons Byron (Karen), Torry (Alma) Darryl (Mandy), eight grandchildren and a very large group of friends and close family.
A memorial service will be held at the Abbotsford Pentecostal Assembly, 3145 Gladwin Road, Abbotsford, at 1:00 p. m., May 6th, 2004.
