McDANIEL, Les - Wednesday, 09 Oct 2002
Les McDaniel, late of Chilliwack, B.C., passed away Oct. 9, 2002, at the age of 80 years. He was born Oct. 6, 1922 in Abbotsford, B.C.
Les was a veteran of World War II and served overseas from 1944-1946 and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #4.
A Service of Remembrance will be held at the Chapel of Henderson’s Funeral Home on Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2002 at 1:30 p.m. Major Angus Haggarty officiating. Cremation, Valley Crematorium, Chilliwack.
Les is survived by his wife Reta; sons: Les Jr. (Gerda) McDaniel of Armstrong, Will McDaniel of Kamloops, Ken (Colleen) McDaniel of Logan Lake, Bob McDaniel of Creston; daughters: Barb (Ed) Peppiatt of Chilliwack, Donna (Dave) Reid of Chilliwack, Joy Kenney of Maple Ridge; 23 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a brother Raymond (Pat) McDaniel of Chilliwack.
He was predeceased by a daughter, Velma in 1982.
Should family and friends so desire, donations in his memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of B.C.
TARMAR, Rose - Tuesday, 08 Oct 2002
Rose Tarmar passed away Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2002 at her home in Chilliwack, at the age of 65 years. She was born June 3, 1937 in Mikado, Sask.
Rose trained as an RN at Winnipeg Misericordia Hospital, where she nursed. Later, she journeyed to New York for a course in Midwifery, which she practiced at Winnipeg General Hospital. In 1966, she came to B.C. to work at Chilliwack General Hospital in the maternity ward, where she delivered many babies alone. In 1969, Rose became a member of Glad Tiding Fellowship. She and her husband Les worked together in the Mission Field - four trips to the Philippines, once to the Arctic and many times to California to participate in Gleanings for the Hungry. For several years, Rose and Les enjoyed skiing in Switzerland and Austria.
Rose is survived by her husband of 35 years, Leslie; two daughters, Anita (John) of Chilliwack, and Bronwen (Micky) of Hawaii; four grandchildren, Carla (Bill), Ken (Darlene), Sonja (Dean), and Rachel (Brad); seven great-grandchildren, Devan, Reece, Brianna, Carolyn, Joshua, Sarah, and Gabrielle; two brothers, Paul and Mike; and one sister Adeline.
She was predeceased by three sisters; and three brothers.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, Oct. 11, 2002, from 8-9 p.m. at Woodlawn Funeral Home in Chilliwack. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 12, 2002 at 2 p.m. from Glad Tidings Church in Chilliwack; Pastors L. Lueck, T. Dixon, and D. Huebert officiating. Burial will follow at Chilliwack Cemeteries on Little Mountain.

TURANSKI, Don Rudolph - Monday, 07 Oct 2002
Don was born in Saskatoon, Sask. on August 16, 1938. He moved to Richmond and then moved to Chilliwack where he resided until his passing October 7, 2002.
His passion for life was classical music and the opera.
He was predeceased by his father John; and two sisters.
He leaves to mourn, his mother Mary; his sister Fay; and brothers-in-laws. He also leaves many nieces, nephews, and friends that loved and cared about him.
He also leaves his dear friend who has stood by him for three years and helped him each day, Ramond Mason. I know Don was touched by all the care and support you gave him, God’s blessing be yours.
He also had a special friend, his cat Tiggy for 15 years.
His passing leaves us with great sorrow. But we rejoice because he leaves the pain of a body filled with cancer. And now he has a new body with his Lord.
Don as we say farewell to you dear friend we trust that you will be waiting for us in heaven.
There will be a memorial for Don at the home of Roy Wright, #205-45823 Victoria Ave., at 3 p.m., October 19, 2002, call 604-793-6603.
Instead of flowers we will take an offering. He loved roses so we will be planting some where he lived by the river.

MEIER, Ralph Joseph - Monday, 07 Oct 2002
Ralph Joseph Meier passed away on Oct. 7, 2002 at his home in Sardis.
Ralph was predeceased by his loving wife, Joan.
Ralph is deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his daughters: Carey (George), Patti (Gord), and Donna (Ron); his grandchildren: Kirk, Andy (Shawna), Dan, Chris, and Heather; and great-grandson, Cameron.
Ralph was born in Wilkie, SK. He later moved to Haney where he met and married Joan, almost 50 years ago.
Ralph was a career Prison Guard after serving his country in Korea with the Navy.
Ralph was an avid garage saler and was happiest when repairing electronics, carving and restoring guitars. He also enjoyed surfing the net, and other activities on his computer.
A Memorial Service will be held - Saturday, oct. 19, 2002 at Woodlawn Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, Ralph would have preferred to be remembered by a donation to the charity of your choice.
HOLOSNEY, Edward - Sunday, 08 Dec 2002
Edward Holosney born September 7, 1921 in the Ukraine, passed away peacefully December 8, 2002 at Heritage Village surrounded by his loving family. Ed served many years in the Army.
He leaves to mourn, a family that loved and respected him. Ed is survived by his wife Victoria; daughter Lynn; sons, William, David, Peter, Richard, and Robert; one grandson Mike (Janette); brother Charlie (Rita); sister Irene; and numerous nieces, nephews, and relatives in the Ukraine.
He was predeceased by his parents; and brothers, Roy, Walter, Alex, and Steve.
Prayers will be held at 7 p.m. - Thursday, Dec. 12, 2002 at Henderson’s Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. - Friday, Dec. 13, 2002 from The Holy Spirit Ukrainian Catholic Church, Fr. Myroslav Cryviac celebrant. Interment to follow.
His family would like to express their gratitude to the nurses and support staff at Heritage Village for their incredible personal care and attention.
POTTER, Peter Oliver - Sunday, 08 Dec 2002
Peter Oliver Potter late of Chilliwack, formerly of York, England, Pickering and Oakville, Ont., passed into glory December 8, 2002 in the Chilliwack General Hospital at the age of 71 years. He was born April 17, 1931 in York, England and had lived in this area for 10 years.
A funeral service was held December 12, 2002 at 1:30 p.m. at Central Pentecostal Assembly. Pastor Ron Daase officiated. Interment at Chilliwack Cemeteries.
Casket bearers, Ryan Rainville, Ken Struiksma, Emil Daase, Walter Daase, Herb Daase, and Helmut Hoock.
Peter is survived by his loving wife Ida; daughter Dianne Rainville; grandson Ryan Rainville; granddaughter Janelle Rainville; and sister Pauline Brookes in England.

Gloria Joy Patriquin peacefully at Chilliwack Hospital on Thursday, Dec. 5, 2002 aged 75 years.
Predeceased by her husband Ray.
Gloria is survived by her four children, Ray (Heather), Rob (Lauren), Randy (Thelma), and Ron (Leanne). She leaves also her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren; as well as her dear friends.
A Celebration of Gloria’s life will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 15, 2002 followed by refreshments at the Lynwood, 9168 Corbould St. in Chilliwack.

EVANS, George Russell - Saturday, 01 Feb 2003
George Russell Evans passed away peacefully on February 1, 2003, surrounded by his family at Chilliwack Gen-eral Hospital after a long illness. He was 84 years of age. George was born in Beaton, B.C. on December 7, 1918.
He is survived by his wife and soul mate, Helen; adoring daughters, Heather and Shannon; son-in-law Greg Bellamy; and ‘little man’ grandson Cameron.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 8, 2003 at 10:30 a.m. from Woodlawn Mt. Cheam Funeral Home, 45865 Hocking Ave., Chilliwack. A reception will follow from the Elks Hall at 46185 Fourth Ave., Chilliwack.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
George was kindhearted and always thought of others first. A Navy veteran and leader in his community, his volunteer service in Chilliwack and Revelstoke included Citizens Patrol, Volunteer Fireman, Auxiliary RCMP, Revelstoke Centennial Committee, Alderman, Moberly Manor, and School Board Trustee. He showed compassion for others in his daily life and work as a Coroner, Judge, and Registrar.
He was a jack-of-all-trades, farmer, butcher, gardener, and cook. Fishing for the big one was a hobby. A miner at heart, prospecting for gold was his passion. He was a 40 year member of the Elks and Royal Canadian Legion. In his latter years, his pride and joy has been his grandson, Cameron. He was a guiding light to his family and a friend to all he met. GERRARD, John Merson Saturday, 01 Feb 2003
John Merson Gerrard passed away peacefully on Saturday, Feb. 1, 2003 at the Chilliwack General Hospital at the age of 64 years.
John will be sadly missed by his loving wife Anne; children, Debbie (Ron) Fraser, John (Janet) Gerrard, and Tanys (Brian) Bradley; as well as his grandchildren, Curtis, Jason, Janelle, Carson, and Graydon. He is also survived by his sister Marjorie Fowler; and brother Bill Gerrard.
Private family cremation services will be held.
Donations may be made in memory of John to the Canadian Cancer Society.
CONRAD, Karl - Thursday, 30 Jan 2003
Karl Conrad was born in Obermoschel, Germany on August 28, 1908. Karl passed away January 30, 2003 at the age of 94 years in Chilliwack.
Karl is survived by his loving wife Queenie; daughters, Queenie (Joe) Fasolino, Karla (Ed) Shimizu, and Jacquie (Euclid) Ledoux; grandchildren, Dean Shimizu, Karl (Catherine) Fasolino, Daena (Nigel) Machan, Yale (Courtney) Fasolino, Aaron Ledoux, and Kaleb Ledoux; and great-grandchildren, Stephanie, Sydney, Nicholas, Jessica, and Olivia.
Thanks to Dr. Noble, the staff at Chilliwack General Hospital, Maryke, Elizabeth and her staff, and Linda Morgan, his personal caregiver.
It was Karl’s wish that there be no funeral service.
GEORGE, Jean - Thursday, 30 Jan 2003
Jean George passed away peacefully in her home at The Waverly of Chilliwack on Thursday, Jan. 30, 2003 at the age of 97 years.
Jean will be sadly missed by her brother Ed (Edna) Buckway of Langley; stepson Dale (Susan) George of Chilliwack; and three step-grandchildren, Wanda, Monique, and Steven. She is also survived by her six nieces, Joanne, Linda, Pam, Bev, Janice, and Leanne; and three nephews, Bob, Donald, and Bucky; as well as numerous other nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her loving husband Harry.
