Norman H. Kyle passed away peacefully on December 9, 2002 at Chilliwack General Hospital.
He is survived by Erika, his loving wife of 44 years; sisters, Shirley Rolfe and Muriel Blue; and brother Gordon Kyle.
Norman was predeceased by his mother and father.
Norman was born in Moose Jaw, Sask., moved to B.C. and worked with his father, then went to work for York Farms as a shipper and receiver for 29 years.
There will be no service or flowers. If you wish, you may make a donation to a charity of your choice in Norm’s name.

Norman Nicholas Peterson, late of Chilliwack, B.C., passed away Oct. 10, 2002 at the age of 73 years. He was born June 25, 1929 in Montreal, PQ.
Public visitation will be from 2-4 pm Tuesday, Oct. 15, at Henderson’s Funeral Home.
Prayers will be held at St. Mary’s RC Church Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2002 at 7:00 pm.
Requiem Mass will be celebrated at St. Marys R.C. Church on Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2002 at 10 a.m. Fr. Jack Dias celebrated.
Norman is survived by his beloved wife Marian (nee Mrazik); son: Grant (Leanne) of Calgary, AB; daughter: Lynn-Marie of Oshawa, ON; son, Bruce (Margaret) of Delta, BC; daughter Elaine (Lester) of Kingston, ON: grandson, Joel; granddaughters: Hannah and Emma, all of Calgary; grandsons: Tristan and Brendan, both of Delta, BC; brother, M. Lynn Peterson of Athens, ON; and sister Muriel Peterson of Kingston, ON.

Lorna Irene Bolko late of Chilliwack, passed away December 10, 2002 at the age of 55 years. She was born October 14, 1947 in Chilliwack.
Private cremation, Valley Crematorium, Chilliwack.
A tea will be held at the Anavets on Friday, Dec. 13, 2002 from 2-4 p.m.
Lorna is survived by her father John Bolko; two sisters, Marianne of Prince George, and Terry of Chilliwack; four brothers, Ed of Prince George, Fred and Neil of Chilliwack, and Rob of Cranbrook; and several nieces and nephews.

OSTENDORF, Johannes (John) Aloysius - Monday, 09 Dec 2002
Johannes (John) Aloysius Ostendorf late of Chilliwack, passed away in Heritage Village on November 29, 2002 at the age of 77 years. He was born July 27, 1925 in Bussum, The Netherlands. John enjoyed salmon fishing in Canada and tuna fishing when they lived in Spain.
Requiem Mass was Celebrated at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church on Friday, Dec. 6, 2002 at 11 a.m.
John is survived by his wife Nelly of 48 years; son Roger (Alma); daughter Roswihta (Karen) of Edmonton, Alta.; grandson Johnny Ostendorf; brother Richard (Teunie) Ostendorf of Langley; sister Kinney Kachuck of The Netherlands; brother-in-law Johan (Diny) ter Horst; and nieces, nephews, and other family and friends in Mexico and The Netherlands.

BALLAM, Harry Verdun - Monday, 09 Dec 2002
Harry Verdun Ballam late of Chilliwack, passed away December 9, 2002 at the age of 85 years. He was born January 24, 1917 in Chilliwack.
Harry enjoyed farming and his family.
Service of Remembrance will be held Monday, Dec. 16, 2002 at 3 p.m. at the chapel of Henderson’s Funeral Home. Rev. Doug Ireland officiating. Cremation, Valley Crematorium, Chilliwack.
Harry is survived by his children, Jim (Gloria) Ballam of Chilliwack, Joan (Ervin) Franks of Osoyoos, Marvin (Agnes) Ballam of Chilliwack, Marie (Robert) Lee of Maple Ridge, and Hazel (Joey) Beaulieu of Chilliwack; 16 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; brother Jack (Margaret) Ballam; sisters, Ella (Art) Bedard, and Velma (Evan) Edmondson, all of Chilliwack; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife Louise in 1995.

ROBSON, Frederick Mark (Fred) - Monday, 09 Dec 2002
Frederick Mark (Fred) Robson age 90, passed away peacefully December 9, 2002 at Chilliwack Hospital. Born in Montreal, Que. in August 1912.
He was predeceased by his wife Vera in 1986; and twin brother Arthur in 1962.
He is survived by sister Irene; brother Clifford; and several nieces and nephews.
A longtime resident of Coquitlam, Fred was most recognizable as the popular Ice Cream Man that plied every community street from New Westminster to Mission during those long summer days, for nearly 30 years. He enjoyed composing his own music, had a profound love of dogs, and a non-stop positive outlook of life.
A memorial service will be held at Burquitlam Funeral Home, 625 North Road, Coquitlam, on Saturday, Dec. 21, 2002 at 2 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the B.C. Cancer Society would be appreciated.
WOODS, Emma - Monday, 09 Dec 2002
On December 9, 2002 the Lord took Emma Woods home at the age of 95. Emma longed for this as she had several health problems in her last years. She was born near Medicine Hat, Alta. on November 4, 1907. Emma was the oldest of eight children, all deceased.
She leaves to mourn, her three sons, Cecil (Edith) Fietz, from Ottawa, Ont., Sidney (Barbara) Fietz from Hope, and Donald (Renee) Fietz of Nanaimo. Also 15 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren; as well as numerous relatives and friends who will miss her.
After her first marriage to Louis Fietz, she then spent six years alone, then in 1955 she married Vivian Woods in Hope. Vivian died in 1995.
Emma was predeceased by her father who died in 1951; Emma’s mother died in 1961; Emma’s one daughter Noreen Stromquist died in 1996.
Rev. Matt Dressler from Chilliwack Baptist Church officiated at a service at Henderson’s chapel on Thursday, Dec. 12, 2002 at 1:30 p.m.
Emma was a long-standing member of Chilliwack Baptist Church despite not being able to attend. Previous to that when her health was good, she and Vivian attended the Evergreen Baptist Church.
Emma had lived in the Waverly since 1995, she was thankful, and had asked when her time would come, to say a very special thank you to the nurses and staff there. Emma did appreciate your help and kindness.
The family entrusted Emma’s funeral to Henderson’s Funeral Home and interment was at the Chilliwack Cemetery.
HEIDE, Abraham - Wednesday, 09 Oct 2002
Abraham Heide passed away October 9, 2002 in Chilliwack General Hospital, at the age of 83.
Abraham was born April 6, 1919 in Saskatchewan, and is survived by his 10 children, Sara, Pedro, Henry, Albert, Edward, Jacob, Maria, Abraham, William, and Eva; 27 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
Abraham was predeceased by his wife Elisabeth in January 1994.
Abraham was a hardworking farmer who, in his earlier years lived in Mexico. In 1957 he moved his family to Canada and settled in the Chilliwack area. He retired to Garden Dr. where he spent his final years. Abraham was healthy for his age and maintained a good sense of humour through to his final hours.
His passing will leave a void in the lives of those who got to know him.
Viewing will take place at Henderson’s Funeral Home in Chilliwack on October 14, 2002 from 7-8 p.m. The funeral service will take place at the Evangelical Missionary Church, 9310 Williams St., Chilliwack on October 15, 2002 at 1 p.m.
