BRADLEY, Earle Hatton - Sunday, 08 Jun 2003
Earle H. Bradley, born in Three Rivers, Que., August 1929, passed away peacefully in Chilliwack on June 8, 2003.
He served in the Royal Canadian Navy during the Second World War, and enjoyed his retirement in Chilliwack since 1988.
Lovingly remembered by Marie, his wife of 55 years; his children, Ross of Edmonton, Alta., Cathy (Robert) White of Ottawa, Ont., and Scott (Elizabeth Brophy) of Coquitlam; and his brother William of Ottawa, Ont.
Their beloved ‘’Pappy’s’’ spirit will live on in his four dear grandchildren, Courtney, Jennifer, Emily, and Jarret.
No service or flowers by request. Family will celebrate his life at Lake Louise, Alta. later in the year.

Dallas Mary Bale passed away at the Chilliwack General Hospital on June 7, 2003, aged 86 years. Born in Armstrong March 14, 1917. She had lived in the Chilliwack area for the past 15 years.
Survived by her son Earl and his wife Judy Bale of Chilliwack; daughter Bonnie Lockley of Vancouver; six grandchildren, Sherri (Paul), Rick, Tami (Dean), Danny (Mamey), Denise (Scott), and Julia; six great-grandchildren, Corey, Matthew, Dylan, Brody, Taylor, and Caitlin; and special friends, Doris and Fred.
Friends wishing to pay their respects may do so at Henderson’s Funeral Home Tuesday, May 10, 2003 between the hours of 7-8 p.m. Graveside service will be held on Wednesday, June 11, 2003 at 10:30 a.m. at VedderView Memorial Gardens, Sardis, with Doug Ireland officiating.
Casket bearers will be Rick Bale, Danny Bale, Dean McGladdery, Scott Borle, and Paul Cramer.
MAROHN, Clara - Saturday, 07 Jun 2003
on Saturday, June 7, 2003, Clara Marohn passed away at the age of 92 years.
Predeceased by her husband, Reinhold in 1999, parents, brothers and sisters.
Clara is survived by five step children; Artur Marohn in Arkansas, USA, Gerhard Marohn in Vancouver, B.C, Seigfreid Marohn in Richmond, B.C, Deiter Marohn in Regina, Sask. and Gisela Gingras in Toronto, ON. Clara is also survived by her three nieces; Maureen Becket, Burnaby, B.C, Florence Tisdale, Medicine Hat, AB and Edna McCall, Regina, Sask.
Clara was born September, 26, 1911 in Dolls Slupca, Poland, to parents, Julius and Marta Klatt. She lived her early years in Germany. Clara spent some time during the Second World War in a concentration camp. She came to Canada in 1950 to Edenwold, Sask. There she worked on a farm for three years. She moved to Fort San where she worked as a housekeeper. In 1954, Clara went to Regina, Sask. she worked at the Regina General Hospital as a housekeeper until her marriage to Reinhold Marohn on May 26, 1972. She continued to work there until her retirement.
In 1981, Reinhold and Clara moved to Chilliwack where they lived until 1999. Clara moved into the Extended Care home in Richmond where she passed away. She will be missed by all her relatives and friends.
Funeral Services are to be held Tuesday, June 10, 2003 at 1:30 pm. in the Chapel at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 45865 Hocking Ave, Chilliwack , B.C.
Donations in Clara’s name may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation if desired.
deANDRADE, Silvestre - Tuesday, 30 Sep 2003
Silvestre was born in Sao Miguel, Acores, Portugal where he received his schooling and supported his mother for many years. He came to Canada in 1956, settled in Kitimat, B.C. and started his employment at Alcan, where he worked for over 20 years.
He married his wife Lidia of 41 years in 1962 and soon afterwards they had their twin daughters, Rosa Maria and Natalie and raised their family in Kitimat. Silvestre also worked many years at Eurocan, retiring at age 65.
He loved working in his garden over the years, growing various vegetables, fruit, flowers, trees and a beautiful hedge. He also enjoyed landscaping projects at the Catholic Church, trying to enhance the beauty of the grounds. He was an active, faithful parish member, helping those in need, visiting the sick in our hospital regularly and expressing always his love of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Silvestre took wonderful, loving care of his family for many years and will be greatly missed. After his heart attack Silvestre died in St. Paul’s Hospital in Vancouver on August 23 at age 73.
Forever remembered and loved by his wife Lidia; and daughters, Rosa (Harvey Hartmann) and Natalie (Al Ricard). Always loved and adored by his five grandchildren, Chelsea and Kaitlyn Hartmann, also Kristy, Brayden and Brittney Ricard.
Our family would like to express our heartfelt appreciation, love and gratitude to the hospital staff, paramedics and everyone that has shown their kindness through prayers, thoughts, deeds and support.

MEERES, Donald Robert - Tuesday, 30 Sep 2003
Donald Robert Meeres late of Sardis, passed away suddenly in the Vancouver St. Paul’s Hospital at the age of 69 years. Don was born January 28, 1934 in Edmonton, Alta. to parents, Edgar and Lucy Meeres. He had lived in this area for 67 years.
He moved to Sardis with siblings Jean and Elmer at the age of two-and-one-half years. He lived on Prest Rd., Chilliwack River Rd., and the Sardis area before moving to a home on Airport Rd., where he lived until his marriage to Carolyn in 1957.
He left school early and travelled to Alberta to find a variety of work from construction to logging. Later in life he worked in TV installations and for Canadian Aviation and Electronics. He drove milk truck, was a security officer in B.C. Forestry camps and was part owner of Chilliwack Gulf Oil. Don worked for Friesen Equipment as a salesman for many years and during this time he acquired many friends in the farming communities. In 1989 Don purchased M & C Insulation where he was currently owner and manager with a great foreman and crew.
Interspersed with these activities was his love of animals where he hobby farmed with calves, cows and horses, mainly Appaloosas and Quarter Horses. His hobbies included reading, TV and horse auctions. He especially enjoyed attending 4H, sports and horse events which involved his grandchildren. His joy in summer was spending time in Scotch Creek at Caravans West Resort with his family and friends.
A graveside service will be held at Chilliwack Cemeteries on Saturday, Sept. 27, 2003 at 11 a.m., followed by a Service of Remembrance at the Chilliwack Alliance Church at 1 p.m., Rev. Brian Wiebe officiating.
Casket bearers: Chris Meeres, Gary Meeres, Peter Pellikaan, Rick Meeres, Joe Meeres, and Mark Craig. Honourary bearers: Bud Allan, Len Hall, Barb Litzenberger, Terry Johnson, Neil Thornton, Bob Sepass, and Merril Prest.
He will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 46 years, Carolyn; sons, Rick (Cathy), Gary (Janie), and Joe (Lynn); daughter Nancy (Peter) Pellikaan, all of Chilliwack; as well as 12 loving grandchildren, and Teresa; brother Elmer Meeres of Nanaimo; and numerous nieces, nephews, and close family friends.
Don was predeceased by his sister Jean Trussel; his mother Lucy; and father Edgar Meeres.

MacKINNONN, Wallace Roy (Bud) - Saturday, 27 Sep 2003
Wallace Roy (Bud) MacKinnon passed away September 27, 2003 at age 74 years.
He was born October 27,1929 in Sackville, NB.
Bud is survived by his wife of 52 years, Dorothy; his two daughters, Bonnie (Bill) Johnson of Sackville, N.B and Carol (Ron) Derksen of Chilliwack; seven grandchildren, Angela (Matthew) van Erp, Sharla (Quinn) Glock, Brent Derksen, Deanna Derksen, Tyrel Johnson, Alana Johnson, Kyle Johnson and two great-grandchildren, Joshua Glock and Adam Glock; sister Carol (Jack) Phinney; brother, John (Edna) MacKinnon. He was predeceased by his parents, Roy and Jean MacKinnon, brother, Muir and sister, Connie Dauvin.
A Memorial Service will be held - Friday, October 3 at 2:00 pm from the Chapel at Woodlawn Mt Cheam funeral Home with Padre Fred Tassinari officiating. Honourary Pall Bearers are Ron Derksen, Bill Johnson, Matthew van Erp, Quinn Glock, Brent Derksen and Tyrel Johnson.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial donations may be made to the B.C. Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
Bud married his childhood sweetheart, Dorothy, on January 18, 1952.
He enlisted in the Canadian Armed Forces Royal Canadian Engineers in 1952 and retired in 1980, as a MWO, after which he sold Real Estate in the Chilliwack area for many years.
Nothing was as important to Dad as his family.
He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. He may be gone from our presence but never from our memories.
ZINK, Alfred “Roydon” - Thursday, 25 Sep 2003
Alfred “Roydon” Zink late of Sardis, B.C., passed away September 25, 2003 at the age of 80 years. He was born August 18, 1923 in Chilliwack and had lived in this area his entire life.
Roydon was the son of a pioneer family and a long time dairy farmer. He was Past Director of the Dairy Herd
Improvement Association, Past Director of the Artificial Insemination, Member of the Holeinthewall Club and the airport coffee bunch. He spent many years travelling and fishing.
A Memorial Service will be held from the Chapel of Henderson’s Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 1, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Doug Ireland officiating. Cremation, Valley Crematorium with interment at Chilliwack Cemeteries.
He is survived by his wife Mildred; sons Mike (Loretta); Stan; daughter Gloria (Pierre) Le Gal; sisters Norma Bean and Vera Armstrong; grandchildren Francois and Denise Le Gal; Greg and Grant Zink.
He was predeceased by his twin brother, Don and daughter-in-law Frances.

Elizabeth Agnes Sharp passed away on September 24, 2003 at Chilliwack General Hospital at age 52 years. She was born April 13, 1952 in Vancouver, B.C.
Beth is survived by her son Don (Salvina); daughter, Sheryl; father, Don; mother, Agnes; brother John (Shirley); and granddaughter Lanaia; as well as many friends here in Chilliwack.
There will be no service by request.
VENUS, Mearl Leslie - Wednesday, 24 Sep 2003
Mearl Leslie Venus late of Chilliwack, B.C., passed away September 24, 2003 at the age of 71 years. He was born May 13, 1932 in Drumheller, Alberta.
Mearl served in the Royal Canadian Air Force from 1956 to 1964.
Memorial Service on Thursday, October 2, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #4.
Private Cremation at Valley Crematorium in Chilliwack. Interment of Cremated Remains in Valley View Cemetery, Surrey.
He is survived by his son Brent and grandson Declan.
He was predeceased by his wife Audrey and one son Gregory in 1989.

GUENTHER (nee Hopper), Eleanor - Tuesday, 23 Sep 2003

Eleanor passed away suddenly and unexpectantly at the age of 33.
Eleanor is survived by her daughter, Corrina; her husband, Nigel; his parents, Stewart and Ruby; her mother and father; sisters, Ruby and Dianne; brothers, Dave and John; nieces and nephews.
Eleanor will be sadly missed and remembered by her co-workers and friends at The Abbotsford News and fellow students and the college she attended.
Eleanor was a fun-loving, hard-working person, with a great sense of humour. She will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her.
