FADDEN, Patrick - Sunday, 07 Aug 2005
Peacefully at New Westmin–ster, BC, Sunday, August 7, 2005 aged 83 years.
Predeceased in 1978 by his son David, Pat is survived by Vivian, his loving wife of 60 years.
He leaves also his son Barry and his daughter Gayle and her husband Bill Horie. He will be sadly missed, also, by his grandchildren, Shelley and her husband Jed Evans and Heath Patterson, great-granddaughter Anika McNeill; his sister Lucille and her husband Bill Turner and their family; his extended family and many dear friends.
Graveside service will be held at 11:00 am, on Friday, August 12, 2005 at Maclure Road Cemetery in Abbotsford, BC.
A Memorial Service will be held the next day, - Saturday, August 13, 2005 at 2:00 pm at Heritage Alliance Church, 3440 Mt. Lehman Road. Reverend Brad Collins will officiate.
McCONACHIE, James Russel - Saturday, 30 Jul 2005
May 6, 1928 – July 30, 2005
After a long and courageous battle with lung cancer, it is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our much loved husband, father and grandfather.
Jim was born May 6, 1928 in Keyes, Manitoba, the third son of six children born to Bert and Jessie McConachie. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Doris; daughter Kerry (Ray) of Chilliwack; brother, Ivan (Gay) of Mission; sister, Mildred Hunter of Maple Ridge; brother in law, Clarence (Terry) Johnson of Alberta, daughter in law Eleanor of White Rock; granddaughters, Jenny, Alexandra and Dalyn, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his son, Brett; parents, Bert and Jessie; three brothers and their wives, Bert (Peggy), Dave (Betty) and Louis (Sharon) and brother in law, Stan Hunter.
Jim and Doris married in 1950 and settled near family in Mission. Jim started out in the Correctional Service in 1954 and in 1962, he was transferred to Campbell River to spend the next 11 years just minutes from some of the best fishing grounds he could wish for. From there, in 1973, he was transferred to Chilliwack where he was to spend his remaining years. He always had time to help others, kept his Industrial First Aid ‘A’ ticket current while contributing 25 years service as a volunteer firefighter.
He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
There will be no service by request. A Celebration of Jim’s life will be held at the Mission Legion on August 11, 2005. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society in Jim’s name.
GRAHAM, G.R. (Dick) - Sunday, 31 Jul 2005
1927-2005
After a brief illness, Dick Graham passed away at Chilliwack General Hospital, July 31, 2005. He was born in Viking, Alta., April 12, 1927.
Predeceased by his loving wife Erla; parents, Emily and Allan Graham; sister Frances Speed; and brother Robert Graham.
He is survived by sister Dorothy and Eric Twigge of Calgary, Alta.; nieces and nephews, Carol, Richard, Allan, Debbie, Bruce, Lucille, and Robert.
Dick was well-known and respected as the proprietor of Graham’s Gifts of Chilliwack since 1970. Previously, he was a member of the Elks and the Royal Canadian Legion, and served in the Merchant Navy.
Known to staff, customers, sales representatives, and friends as “Mr. G.’’ the door ws always open, and coffee was always on.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 13, 2005 at Henderson’s Funeral Home in Chilliwack.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.
FLEMING, Edwin (Eddie) - Monday, 18 Jul 2005
Edwin (Eddie) Fleming of Vedder, B.C. passed away July 18, 2005. He was born January 21, 1933 in Hussar, Alta. to John and Mary Fleming. He grew up in Sunny Slopes, Alta., later moving to Calgary. He moved to Yarrow, B.C. in 1989 and later to Vedder.
He was predeceased by his parents and five brothers.
He is survived by his son Kevin; and three grandchildren. He is survived by three brothers, Irvin (Ellen), John (Carol), and Harvey (Linda); four sisters, Elsie (Herb) Sept, Mary (Martin) Ressler, Helen (Mick) Falk, and Shirley (Gordon) Unrau; and nephews, nieces, and cousins.
A memorial service will take place - Friday, Aug. 12, 2005 at 11 a.m. at the Cascade Community Church, 35190 Delair Rd., Abbotsford.
BOETTCHER, Amanda Joy - Saturday, 06 Aug 2005
Our beloved daughter Amanda Joy Boettcher passed away peacefully into the presence of her Lord on August 6, 2005 at home after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 26 years. She was born in Salmon Arm, B.C. on December 8, 1978 and has lived in Chilliwack all of her life.
She leaves to mourn her mother and father Barb and Gus, sister Loralie, many relatives and many many friends.
Amanda was a loving and caring person and was an inspiration to all who knew her. She loved her church and was always active and willing, teaching Sunday School, playing piano and just helping where needed. Amanda worked at the Cottonwood Mall at Suzy Shier, and also at Coast Capital Savings Credit Union.
A special thanks to each and every one who supported her at the fundraiser friends had for her back in June, and to all who prayed; may God bless you all for your kindness.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, August 10 at 10:00 a.m. in Chilliwack Cemetery. A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 12 at 1:00 p.m. in First Avenue Assembly, 46510 First Avenue, Chilliwack with Pastor Nathan Hewitt officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Ave. Church of God Building Fund or Cancer Research in her memory. We love you Amanda and we are looking forward to seeing you again in heaven.

WALSH, Cyril William Henry “Poppy” - Thursday, 28 Jul 2005
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our much loved husband, father and “Poppy” on July 28th, 2005. Cyril was born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, on March 7th, 1931.
Cyril is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Ada; his children: Mike (Lyn) of Calgary, Alberta and Blair of Cultus Lake, B.C.; grandchildren: Chris, Morgan, Greg, Michael, Chad, Tony and Mathew; great-grandchildren: Caroline, Christina, Cameron and Landon. Also survived by siblings: 3 sisters, Gwen (Tom); Sheila (John); Sharon (Arthur) and brother, Gregory (Allie) in Halifax, N.S.; and many extended family members from across Canada.
Cyril served in the Canadian Armed Forces as a Master Warrant Officer for 24 years. He then worked for the Fisheries and Oceans Canada for 13 years. He could not stay idle and continued to keep his hands and mind busy looking after rental properties and other small jobs.
Many thanks to Doctor Ta and other doctors and nurses at the Chilliwack General Hospital for their wonderful care and support.
Cremation will take place at Henderson’s Funeral Home and Crematorium. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
Should family and friends so desire, donations in his memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
Cyril will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his family and friends.
OLIVER, Keith Micheal - Friday, 29 Jul 2005
Feb. 18, 1980 - July 29, 2005
It is with deep sorrow that family and friends announce the death of Keith Micheal Oliver. He passed away in a tragic motorcycle accident, at the young age of 25. Keith was a new member of the Vancouver Fire Department (Hall #5) and will be lovingly remembered by: his parents Ross and Bonnie Oliver; his fiancé Tara MacLean; sister Katie “Grace”; brother Craig and his wife Tanya; and Keith’s nephew Dexter Jett. Grandparents Al and Dodie Wilson, and Kathleen Oliver are deeply saddened by the loss of their first grandson. Keith will also be missed dearly by his best friend Ryan Ross, as well as his numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, loving friends and firefighter “brothers”.
Keith graduated with honours from Sardis Secondary in 1998 before attending UVIC and Camosun College, he then completed firefighter training at the College of the Rockies in Cranbrook, B.C.
Prior to being hired by the VFD, Keith worked in construction. He enjoyed cars, motorcycles, woodworking, skiing, tools and working out.
His family and friends will remember Keith’s compassion and willingness to do anything for anyone at anytime. His -enthusiasm for life and love will continue to inspire us all. Keith will be greatly missed and we will love and remember him forever.
A celebration of Keith’s life was held at 10:00 am on Thursday August 4, at St. Andrews Wesley United Church (Nelson and Burrard), a wake followed at the Hose & Hydrant Firefighters Club (6515 Bonsor Avenue, Burnaby, B.C.)

McCOLL (nee Kidd), Merle - Saturday, 23 Jul 2005
January 9, 1934 - July 23, 2005
It is overwhelming sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our mum, Merle.
Predeceased by son Robert, and granddaughter, Adrienne.
She will be sadly missed by husband Ian; sister, June; sons, Blair, Gordon (Cathy), Scott (Donna); grandchildren, Jason, Brittany and Brandon; along with her beloved pets and many friends.
Merle was very active with her volunteering in Chilliwack – The Safe Haven, O.A.P.O., Strata Council, MADD, to name a f ew.
A celebration of Merle’s life was held in Campbell River July 28, 2005.

HARRIS, Valerie (Paddy) - Tuesday, 15 Mar 2005
After a long battle with Crohns Disease, Paddy Harris of Agassiz BC died of liver failure in Chilliwack General Hospital on March 15, 2005 at the age of 54.
She was predeceased by her mother and father, George and Nellie Barnes.
She is survived by her companion Greg Merriwether; her children; Richard (Debbie) Harris and Kenny Sand; brothers, Richard (Nida) Barnes, Don (Joy) Vance, Bill (Marg) Vance and sister, Marlene (Bud) Campbell; nieces and nephews, Bill (Nancy) Campbell, Debbie (Al) Koehn, Kevin (Glenda) Campbell and numerous other nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family would like to thank all the doctors at the Agassiz Medical Clinic, especially Paddy’s doctor, Dr. MacIntosh for all of their hard work and dedication to mom’s life. The staff at Chilliwack general hospital’s ICU ward for their compassion, and professionalism toward Paddy and her family in her last days, as well as all the dedicated staff at Hope General Hospital especially Dr. Margret.
Paddy was a person who put others first and gave all she had to make the world a better place. She was an active member of the Royal Canadian Legion and loved to play card games of all types.
All who knew her are welcome to attend a celebration of her life at the Royal Canadian Legion in Agassiz, BC on March 25, 2005 from 2:00-5:00 pm.

GREENWOOD, Earle Lyle - Friday, 18 Mar 2005
Lyle Greenwood passed away peacefully at the Chilliwack General Hospital, Chilliwack, British Columbia Tuesday, March 8, 2005 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Lyle was born October 19, 1936 in Swan River, Man., raised in Kenville, Man. and lived 45 years in B.C. He served with the Royal Canadian Air Force from 1956 to 1959 and worked until 1991 as a communications technician with CNCP and Unitel. He loved music and took great pleasure in his vast collection.
Lyle will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his mother, Lucy Greenwood, sisters, Anne Nurse and Bette Greenwood, son, Jerry Kittel and many relatives and friends.
He was predeceased by his father, Earl Greenwood in 1991.
Interment will be held at Chilliwack Cemeteries, 10010 Hillcrest Dr., Chilliwack, B.C. at 10:30 am Monday, Mar. 21, 2005. Eulogy at the gravesite is welcomed.
