HURDLE, Shirley (RN) passed away peacefully in Richmond, BC on Thursday August 14, 2003 at the age of 82 years. Predeceased by her step-sons Terry and Garth, survived by her loving family, husband Roy, step-daughter Valerie (Ian) Hallman, four grandsons Jeremy, David, Lucas and Blake, relatives and friends. Memorial Service to be held on Thursday, August 21, 2003 at 2pm in the Chapel of Richmond Funeral Home, 8420 Cambie Road. Cremation. AISBETT, Lois Ellen (Schroeder), born in Windthorst, Sask., passed away after a brief but intense battle with cancer on Thursday, September 25, 2003 at the age of 69 years. Her strength and courage in embracing all of life's challenges was an inspiration and a shining example to all of the lives she touched. She will be deeply missed by her three children, Nancy, Mark (Monique) and Gwen (Michael); granddaughters, Dawn and Jenna; the late Miss. Barkley; and treasured family and friends from Canada and Australia. Lois was predeceased by her parents Joseph Schroeder (1986); S. Nellie Schroeder (1991) and her loving husband James in 1995. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, October 3, 2003 at 1:00pm in the Chapel at Valley View Memorial Gardens, 14644-72nd Ave, Surrey, 604-596-7196. Burial will follow. ARTER, Richard George "Dick" May 3, 1931 - September 29, 2003. Passed away peacefully at the age of 72. Predeceased by his loving wife Myrt. CAMPBELL, William (Bill) born June 1, 1926 passed away peacefully at VGH on September 29, 2003. He is survived by his loving wife Yvonne of 55 years, 6 children Ken (Donna), Keith (Val), Bruce (Cathy), Brian (Brenda), Colin (Shelly), Gail (Jim). 7 grandchildren Kim (Andrew), Jeff (their mother Judy); Scott; Wayne, Richard (their mother Heather); Craig, Carly; great grandchildren Kevin, Nikkia and Ethan. Bill also leaves to mourn many relatives and friends. A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 3, 2003 at 3:00 pm at Glenhaven Memorial Chapel, 1835 East Hastings St, Vancouver. To follow a celebration of Bill's life will be held at 148 Legion, 4356 E. Hastings St., Burnaby. FOLEY, Alfred Ambrose passed away on September 29, 2003 at the age of 61 and was surrounded by his family and friends. Al leaves behind his loving wife Barbara; son Christopher (Patricia); daughter Kimberly; grandson Caleb (his pride and joy); one sister; three brothers; and many nieces and nephews. ALLEN, Joyce Maria. Born July 8th, 1914 at Heart Lake, Alberta slipped away peacefully at VGH surrounded by her family on November 23rd, 2003. She is predeceased by her loving husband Charles (Chuck) Allen in 1991. Survived by her loving children John (Diane), Gordon, Mary (Sam) Cupples, Shannon, Robert as well as 6 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, also several nieces and nephews and her extended family. Mum was absolutely devoted to her family. She was caring and compassionate, especially to those less fortunate than herself. We will miss her dearly. Her spirit will live on and be with us forever. Prayers will be offered Sunday, November 30th at 6:00 p.m. at the Roselawn Funeral Chapel, 1669 E. Broadway (at Commercial), Vancouver. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, December 1st at 10:00 a.m. at St. Andrew's Catholic Church, 480 East 47th Avenue, Vancouver. Interment to follow at Mt. View Cemetery.

ANDERSON, Samuel. Born on March 30, 1923 in Glasgow Scotland, passed away peacefully on November 24, 2003 at home with his family by his side after a short illness. Sam served in the Black Watch / Gordon Highlanders 6th. Battalion during the Second World War. He will be lovingly remembered by his children Elaine (Tom), Ian (Heather), Roselynn (Derrick), Margaret, companion Olive and his six grandchildren. He was a kind gentle man and a hero to us all. A special thank you to Dr. Cilliers for his compassion and understanding with our father. A Remembrance Tea will be held on December 7, 2003 between 1 - 4PM at 6278 Hollypark Court, Ladner, B.C. BROWN, Margaret Gills (Wood) Margo passed away peacefully on November 20, 2003 at the age of 74. She is survived by her sister Mavis and her family, her 5 children, Margot, Lawrence, Yvonne, Colleen and Martin and her 11 grandchildren, Christopher, Patrick, Nicole, Jessica, Jackie, Carmen, Tyler, Ashley, Ramon, Jason and April. She will be dearly missed by all those whose lives she touched. Many words of appreciation and thanks to the staff and caregivers at Zion Park Manor for their caring support. CAMPBELL, (nee RAWLINSON) Elaine Terry, passed away Wednesday, November 5th, 2003 at St. Paul's Hospital in Vancouver BC. Elaine is survived by her loving husband Colin Alistair, her daughters Janet Upton-Noot (John) and Donna Lysell (Allan), her sisters Bonnie Loudoun (Norman) and June Carle, and her grandsons Ryan Cox (Danielle) and Tyler Cox (Julie) as well as many nieces and nephews and their children. Elaine was born in Victoria BC on December 9, 1926. She attended Oak Bay High School and was a proud and beautiful member of the Victoria Girl's Drill Team. She lived the majority of her adult life in Vancouver and White Rock and enjoyed many winter visits to California. Elaine's life was defined by her unlimited generosity of spirit, love, and support, not only for her family and friends, but also for everyone with whom she came in contact. Elaine genuinely cared for people and knew how to express her affection and concern. She was passionate about family and enjoyed, most of all, those times when her family gathered together for celebrations, special events, or even a quiet dinner on a Sunday night. Throughout 30 years of marriage, Elaine enjoyed the loving support of her husband, Colin Alistair, and that of his entire family. Although the last six years presented numerous medical challenges, Elaine never lost her love for life and family or her desire to help people whenever and wherever she could. Elaine's family would like to express their gratitude to the Nurses and Doctors in the Dialysis unit at St. Paul's Hospital. Very special thanks to Doctors R. Werb, A. Levin, S. McDonald, D. Johnston, and A. Seale and her very supportive GP, Dr. C. Storey of the Pacific Spirit Health Unit.
