ELLIOTT, Margaret "Mugs" Evelyn (nee Newell). Loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, sister and aunt. Margaret passed away peacefully on March 28th, 2003 in Burnaby General Hospital at the age of 93. She was born on September 19th, 1909 in Ontario and lived the early years of her life in Winnipeg. She moved to Vancouver in 1936 and lived the last 8 years in Burnaby. Her work career was in the stationery business as a clerk typist. She was highly regarded as being very accurate and valued for her high work ethics. She was predeceased by her husband Clem, who was the love of her life; her only son Gordon, who was the love of her heart and her 2 brothers, Reg and George. She devoted her life to her 2 grandsons, her home, her church, and her many family and friends. She is survived by her grandsons Douglas and Brent; her sisters Mae and Jean and numerous nieces and nephews. She was very loved by her 2 daughters-in-law, Lorraine Elliott and Miriam Fleming. Her unconditional love touched the hearts of all who knew her. She will remain a special memory in our lives. We want to sincerely thank the staff of Seton Villa for all their loving care over the last few years of her life. They were truly our extended family. No service by request. Interment at Ocean View Cemetery, 4000 Imperial St., Burnaby on Friday, April 4th at 2:00 p.m. Everyone is welcome. BANNON, Fredrick Arthur, aged 77, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, May 31, 2003 at his home in Burnaby. Dad, as everyone called him, was generous and kind and would do anything for anyone. He was a husband, father, brother, friend, coach, player and referee. Some would say he put more miles on his hockey skates than most people did on their feet. He was also a past Grand Master and District Deputy with the Mason's Fellowship. Dad will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his sister Doris, brother Jack, daughter Yvonne and husband Paul, daughter Margaret and husband Ian, son James and fiance Denise and his grandchildren Diana, John and Garrett.

HEIL, Kirby Scot passed away peacefully on June 5, 2003 in Surrey Memorial Hospital. Kirby was born September 28, 1961. Kirby is survived by his loving family; mother, Doreen and dad, Gil; two brothers, Marke (Laura), Grant (Debbie); nephews, Jonathon, Sean, Justin, Dylon and niece, Jessica. MACDONALD, Doreen Mae (nee Swenson). Born May 22, 1928 in Calgary, Alberta, passed away peacefully at St. Paul's Hospital Palliative Care Unit on June 3, 2003. Doreen was predeceased by her husband Clayton in 1971 and is survived by her loving sons, Rory (Monique) and Kevin (Terry) and her grandchildren, Andrew, Genevieve and Meghan. Doreen enjoyed counselling and helping many during her 20 year career with Canada Employment. Her firm yet compassionate manner was her trademark. She will be fondly remembered by her many clients and colleagues. Upon her retirement in 1993, Doreen became active in her community. She helped lead the Joyce St./ Collingwood "Clean Up, Green Up" neighbourhood enhancement program, working closely with her beloved Tzuchi monks. Together, they helped make Collingwood a safer and much more attractive place to live and work. Doreen was also a valued volunteer with the Collingwood Community Police Station and Blockwatch program. She worked with people of all ages there, and particularly enjoyed working with youth. Doreen also volunteered at Science World. In addition, she worked tirelessly over the years as a volunteer for various political causes. Doreen had firm views on just about every issue and you always knew where you stood with her. Doreen was totally dedicated and devoted to her children and grandchildren and will be greatly missed by them. She will also be missed by her other family members and friends. Doreen possessed a unique ability to inspire the best in people. She certainly provided a very strong example of courage and the triumph of the human spirit. Many thanks to the caring staff at St. Paul's PCU, BC Cancer Agency and the Centre for Integrated Healing. MacLEOD, Neil Andersen passed away on June 5, 2003 at the age of 48. He was predeceased by his parents Grethe and Angus MacLeod of Coquitlam and previously of Thunder Bay. He is survived by his brother Eric and sister-in-law Linda of Ottawa, aunts Runa and Eva in Ontario, uncles Max and Gunner in Alberta and friends wherever he passed. He attended high school in Thunder Bay and spent his working years in the family funeral business and later in construction and building supply estimating. A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, June 11 at 1 PM in Burquitlam Funeral Home, 625 North Rd., Coquitlam. Interment to follow in Robinson Memorial Park. MORRISON, Harold. Died peacefully in Courtenay June 5, 2003 at the age of 85. Predeceased by his wife Jennie in 1980. Survived by his children Ed (Harriet) Morrison, Gwen (Lorne) Buker, Terry (Corny) Buskermolen; grandchildren Corinna (Wayne), Tracey (Ken), Guye, Dawn, Kait; great-grandchildren Emily, Senja, Shane; sisters Edna and Eileen. Also survived by his companion Trudy Storie and her children Diane (Jim), Rebecca (Dan), Shirley, Leslie (Bob), 7 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren. Harold will be remembered for his quick wit, love of politics, and gardening. He drove trucks from age 15 to 76. CAPILL, Norman E. born August 21st, 1919 in London, England passed away peacefully in the company of his family on August 13, 2003 in Squamish, B.C. Norman is predeceased by his parents James and Frances Capill and his sister Edna. COMBER, Raymond (Bud). Born in Selkirk, Manitoba, 1923; Passed away August 14, 2003 in Delta Hospital. Served with Canadian Army overseas, 1939-1945, in North Africa, Italy, France, Belgium and Holland. He was predeceased by his wife Dorothy (Doll), in 2000, whom he met and married while stationed in England during the War. He worked as a machine operator at Nabob Foods for most of his working life.
