BENNETT, RALPH "Ralphy" born October 9, 1945 in Vancouver, B.C. After fighting a lengthy battle with cancer, he peacefully passed away on February 21, 2004 with his family by his side. Predeceased by his father Eric. Survived by his mother Lillian, wife Karen, children Michael and Cindy, brother Eric, sister Pat, grandchildren Kayla and Breanna. Service will be held at Boal Chapel, 1505 Lillooet Road, North Vancouver at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to B.C. Cancer Agency.

BEST, Pamela Carmel passed away peacefully at V.G.H. Survived by her loving family: sisters, Helena (Ignatius), Patricia, Barbara (Tom), Florence; and brother Richard (Eilish); nephews, Noel (Cheryl), David, Richard (Stella), Allen (Bonnie), and niece and dear friend Karen; many nieces and nephews in Ireland and England. BROWN, Allan Stewart, born in Big Valley, Alberta on March 12th, 1921. Passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family in Richmond Hospital on Friday, February 20th, 2004. Will be forever loved and missed by his wife of 60 years, Dorothy (Dolly); son Allan Jr. (Jackie) of Richmond; daughters, Janyce (Glenn) Sutton of Thorsby, Alberta, Alane Overacker of Richmond, Carol (Robert) Vincent of Kamloops, Jennifer Brown of Surrey; brother Gerry (Karen) of Calgary; grandchildren, Debbie (Steve), Bonnie (Mark), Darren (Tina), Nikki (Mike), Allan Jr. Jr., Nicole, Alyssa, Tessa and Adam; great-grandchildren, Gregory, Bay-Lee and Dayton, and numerous nieces and nephews. The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Jacob Kliman, the nursing staff of 6 North and Richmond Home Care for all their care and attention. Al enjoyed 32 years with Canadian Pacific Airlines/CPAIR, retiring in 1985. When he wasn't on the ramp working on aircraft he was at home tinkering in his garage on his many classic cars, including his pride and joy, Edsel (Cream Puff). After his retirement he spent many happy hours playing snooker at the Richmond Seniors' Centre. A celebration of Al's life will be held at the Chapel of Richmond Funeral Home, 8420 Cambie Road, Richmond, on Friday, February 27th, 2004 at 2:30 p.m. Light refreshments will follow. BROWN, Carol Ann, born March 25th, 1951 in Vancouver, passed away peacefully on February 21st, 2004 in Surrey Memorial Hospital after fighting a courageous battle against cancer. She is lovingly remembered by her husband Les of 31 years; 3 children, Scott (Krista), Stacey (Randy) and Shane (Kristina); 3 grandchildren, Jayda, Damon and Codye; brother Howie Olafson; as well as other loving family and dear friends. BRUINS, Janna (Pierik), born in Rijk, The Netherlands, June 13, 1933, passed into the presence of her Lord on February 21, 2004 with her family at her side, after a courageous battle with cancer. She leaves behind her beloved husband Gerry of 50 years. Predeceased by her brother Jack and sister Alice; survived by brothers, Derk (Adriana), Ernie (Nancy) and sisters, Corrie (Dick) Vos, Johanna (John) Pierik-Cochrane. She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her children, Linda (Art) DeJager, Wendy Bruins, Geoff (Louise) Bruins, Cammie Herrera; grandchildren, Geoff (Becky), Kyla, Kevin, Hannah, Greg, Kate, Emily, Adrienne, Cara, Gavin; great-grandson Jacob and many nieces and nephews: brothers and sisters-in-law. Janna's gentle and loving spirit warmly welcomed many into her heart and home. She delighted in the beauty of creation and shared this delight with all. CLAYBO, Bertram Iver. On February 15, 2004 Bert Claybo passed away peacefully in his sleep at the age of 85. He was predeceased by his wife Wilhelmenia in 1972. Bert will be lovingly remembered by children Don (Sue), Bill (Fran), Jo-Anne (Chris), Rick (Carol), Len (Kathleen); 13 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; brother Laverne (Winnie); sister Ruth; and many other family and friends. CRISTOFOLI, Fulvia (Bortolotti) born February 18, 1914 in Iutizzo, Codroipo province of Udine in Italy. Passed away on February 23, 2004. She is survived by her loving husband of sixty-two years, Angelo, son Robert (Dallas), daughter Paula Moro (Guido); grandson Derek (Vicki) and great-grandson Jack; and relatives in Italy and the United States. Fulvia Angelo and the children emigrated to Trail, B.C. in 1951 where they worked hard and were successful in their chosen new country. Retirement was good to them as they travelled extensively and returned to Italy annually for many years. The family wishes to thank Dr. L.R. Collins for his special care over many years and the hospital staff in Ward 3D at Burnaby General Hospital for their support over the last several weeks. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Cross Parish Church, 1450 Delta Avenue, Burnaby on Friday, February 27, 2004 at 10:30 a.m. Celebrant Father Andrew. BETTS, Walter Edward, born November 6, 1918, passed away quickly after 85 healthy years. Predeceased by his beloved daughters, Kathryn and Kathleen. Walter will be sadly missed by his children, Bernice, Douglas and Norman; their spouses; Jim, Christine and Indra; his precious grandchildren, Michael, Keltie, Heidi, Reid, Camille and Xander; many friends and family; and his pampered cats. BURKE, Kenneth Lloyd, born November 19, 1930 in Saskatoon, died April 3, 2004 in Vancouver, his family by his side. Predeceased by his parents Annie and John Burke, sisters Eileen and Kathleen, brothers Edward and Louis. Survived by his wife Carroll and sons David (Lisa), Jonathan (Susan), the newest light in his life - grandson Anthony, brother William Thomas, sisters-in-law Maria Ines Burke, Jean Burke, niece Carla (Michael), nephews Adrian (Heather), Graham (Siobhan), Trevor, and great nieces and nephews (Stephanie and Liam; Graham, Katie and Liam) in Canada and the USA. CAMERON, John Archie born January 8, 1924 in Port Hood, Nova Scotia, passed away peacefully at Royal Columbian Hospital in New Westminster, B.C. on April 3, 2004. He is survived by his wife Maureen, daughter Italia and son Cailean. A proud Cape Bretoner, he worked on many of the projects that built Canada, from Buchans, NFLD to Niagara Falls, Ontario to British Columbia. He is remembered as a strong, kind man, devoted father and loving husband, his selflessness and kindness have touched all that have known him. Thanks to all medical staff who cared for him and a special thanks to Dr. W. Rebeyka and Mark Miller for their on going care through this hard time. Prayers will be held, Monday, April 12th at 7:30PM from St. Peter's Church, 402 Royal Avenue where Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, April 13 at 10:00AM. EDGE, Edward Leonard. Passed away peacefully at his home on April 6th, 2004, at the age of 78, just fifty-four days short of his 79th birthday. Survived by his loving wife Phyllis, of fifty-seven years; son Leonard (Tammy); granddaughters, Alicia and Lindsey; sisters, Shirley Moore, Florence Melville and Lillian Small. Edward was a long time resident of Burnaby, belonged to the Armed Forces and was a member of the Masonic Order, Grandview Lodge.
