CHENG, Teresa Yee Mun, born October 11, 1960 in Hong Kong, died March 4, 2003 after a valiant battle against cancer. Lovingly remembered by her husband, Norman Q. Chow; sons, David Albert Chow and Stephen Robert Chow; mother, Anita Cheng; sisters, Catherine Hwang, Ann-May Cheng, Christine Chung and their husbands; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and relatives. Teresa was loved dearly by friends and family for her kindness and support, desire to enjoy life and travel the world to the fullest and ability to bring people together. Teresa was a wonderful mother and wife, who brought meaning, purpose and happiness to her family. Teresa was respected for her boldness and creativity in many ventures. On Tuesday, March 11, 2003, we will honour Teresa at Glenhaven Memorial Chapel, 1835 E. Hastings St, Van, B.C., Tel: 604-255-5444. Visitation 5 to 7 pm . Memorial Service at 7 pm. CHERRY, Gerald E. "Jeff", born September 16, 1922, passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness on March 6, 2003. Jeff is survived by his loving wife; 5 children, 6 grandchildren; 2 sisters and will always be alive in the happy memories of his friends and family. Jeff requested no service. Donations to the B.C. CUNLIFFE, Heather January 16, 1966 - February 17, 2003 Died in Germany after fighting the devastating effects of Syringomyelia for seven years. She will always be remembered for her wit, her artistic flair and her compassionate nature. She will be forever loved and missed by her husband Klaus Hieke of Germany, her parents Joan and Dorsey Cunliffe of Powell River, her brother Ian Cunliffe (Lisa) of West Vancouver, Grandmothers May David of Salt Spring Island and Margaret Williams of Vancouver, and many other family members and friends, both here and in Germany. ANDERSON, Jim passed away peacefully at home on April 21, 2003. Jim was predeceased by his beloved wife Elsie. He leaves to mourn, daughter Barbara (Tony); granddaughters Jane and Sarah; brother Jack; sisters, Bessie and Mabel; as well as several nieces and nephews. BARNES, It is with deep sadness the family of Norma Louise Barnes announce her passing on Tuesday, April 22, 2003. Norma peacefully left us at the Palliative Care Unit of St. Mary's Hospital, New Westminster, B.C. surrounded by family. Born in Vancouver, B.C., September 9, 1931, she was the daughter of Henry and Ethel Morgan. Norma was a loving wife, the best mother in the world, wonderful grandmother, and a true friend. She was well known and respected for the many hours she unselfishly dedicated to family, friends and community over the years. Norma is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Edward; her children Coreen, Thomas, Gordon and Sharilyn; and those she considered her son and daughters when marriage brought them into our family- Bryan, Leanne and Patti. She will always be remembered by her cherished grandchildren Jessica, Sarah, Jennifer, Morgan, Brett and Drew. Norma held a special place in her heart for, and will be remembered by Carolyn Northcott, mother of Jennifer and Morgan. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by Dave, Karen, Stefanie and Jillian. Predeceased by her parents, Norma is survived by her sisters Evelyn and Dorothy; brothers Jim (Fern), Walter (Myra), and Harry (Collette); and many other relatives and friends. Her beloved Pascha is also feeling her loss. Special thanks to Dr. Earl Hutchinson, and the many friends, family and neighbours for their help and support during these past weeks. BOPARAI, Sardar Joginder Singh (age 82) passed away peacefully on April 14, 2003. He lived at 6328 Chester Street Vancouver, B.C. Before immigrating to Canada in 1987 he lived at Wadala Granthian (Batala) Gurdaspur Panjab, India. He was a successful transporter in West Bengal and later developed prosperous farmland holdings. During his years in Canada he was a great support to his son in running his business at Sitar Restaurant. He is survived by his wife Amarjett Kaur Boparai, and two sons, Kashmir Singh (wife Sukhbir Kaur) of Batala, India, Kulbir Singh (wife Parminder Kaur) of Vancouver, Canada, and three daughters Amrik Kaur (husband Surinder Singh Sidhu) of Agra, India, Balbir Kaur (husband Hardip Singh Sandhu) of Jallandhar, India, Rajpal Kaur (husband Satnam Singh Bal) of Indore, India. Funeral and memorial service will be held at River Side Funeral Home, 7410 Hopcott Road Delta, B.C., on April 26th 2003, Saturday at 12:30 pm. CAIRNS, Raymond Alvin, born April 21, 1930, died peacefully at home in Peachland, B.C. after a courageous battle with cancer. He has the love of his family forever, wife of 50 years, Dickie (Beverly Joy); son Scott (Cathy) Cairns of Nanaimo; daughters Ann-Marie Day of Westbank, Tracy (Rick) Scott of Westbank and Shelly (Andrew) Spence of LaSerena, Chile; 8 grandchildren Ben, Jack, Alana, Brian, Kevin, Connor, Cole, Cameron and great-grandchild Kyle; sister Erla Crossley and three nieces. CAMPBELL, James Earl June 8, 1920 April 2O, 2003. Jim is survived by his soul mate and loving wife, Mary as well as his two brothers-in-law Lin and Wally. He is the beloved father of Rene (Barry), Barb (Harvey), Dave (Billie) and Sheila (Terry). Jim is called Granddad by Angie, Michelle, Toni, Cannel, Vicki, Doug, Christy, Dylan, Charlie, Jesse, and Madison. He is also fortunate to have seven great-grandchildren: Kevin, Alex, Melissa, Juleeia, Darion, Elisha and Caitlyn. A decorated WWII v eteran, a gold prospector, a self-employed businessman and a life member of the South Vancouver Kinsmen Club; Jim was a strong and independent man who always had an abundance of storys to tell. CHESTON, William Edward Cheston passed away peacefully at the Delta Hospital at 5 am, April 22, 2003. He was born in South Wales on November 27, 1916. Bill is survived by his very loving wife of 55 years, Joyce; his children, Gail Martin (Ralphe), Rod (Rosa) and Jim (Gjyiena); grandchildren, Dan, Sharon, Amelia, William, Evan and Spencer. Also survived by his brother Stan; sisters, Mary Martin, Nancy Ward and Ella Button. Bill is predeceased by his parents, Edward and Margaret and brother Glynn. He lived a long, enjoyable, and very satisfying life. During World War II he was a proud member of The Canadian Air Force for 6 years, serving overseas in Bomber Command. This is where he met his wife Joyce at a church dance. Upon returning to Canada, Bill hired on at the Post Office and eventually transferred to Canada Customs, retiring in 1979. Bill loved his wife Joyce, his children and grandchildren and their life together more with each passing day. Throughout all their happy years together Bill and Joyce loved dancing, walking along the beach hand in hand and their many friends. Bill loved to brag about how proud he was of each of his children, grandchildren and about how much he loved his wife He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, the While Rock Lions and the Federal Superannuates Association. A service to celebrate Bill's life will be held at the Crescent Beach Legion on Monday, April 28th, 2003 at 11:30 am. COLES, Anna Margaret, nee McRae, passed away suddenly in Amherst Private Hospital, Thursday April 17th, 2003 in her 100th year. Predeceased by her loving husband George, on August 29th, 1984. She will be sadly missed by her sisters-in-law, Evelyn McRae of Burnaby and Marjorie French of Newfoundland. Anna will be sadly missed by her nieces and nephews, Marguerite (Herschel) Hardin, Allen (Gaylle) McRae, Marian Cook, Ken (Kathy) McRae, Ian (MaryJane) McRae, David (Madonna) French, and Jim Coles. Anna was born in Vancouver, and was a highland dance champion in her youth and active in sports. In her later life she was very active in the Native Daughters of B.C. Special thanks to the staff at Amherst Private Hospital. A graveside service will be held at Forest Lawn Burial Park, Garden of Love, 3789 Royal Oak Ave., Burnaby, on Saturday, April 26th at 2:00 p.m.

BARNES, Robert James Born March 20, 1922. Passed away quietly at Lions Gate Hospital early in the morning Thursday, August 28th, 2003, after a long struggle with failing health. Husband, father, grandfather, brother, neighbour and friend to many. Predeceased by his wife of fifty years, Mildred Barnes (nee Somerville). Survived by his brother William (Bill); sister Betty (Welch); and his two children Bev (Bicknell) and Greg. Fondly remembered by his sister-in-law Doris Landrey (Portland, Oregon). Memories of "Little Papa" will be cherished by his four grandchildren, Laura, Christopher, Andrew and Emalia. Bob was a graduate of Point Grey Secondary School and a proud Veteran of World War II. He worked as a long time employee of Ocean Construction Supplies Ltd., and was also an active member of the Kervans Men's Club. Bob truly enjoyed a great party was known to sip a cold beer on the odd occasion (but only after the grass was cut). Greg, Aileen, Bev and Lawrence would like to thank friends and extended family members for their ongoing support, care and concern as Bob's health failed over the past four years. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, September 13, 2003, in the Boal Chapel of First Memorial Funeral Services, 1505 Lillooet Road, North Vancouver, B.C.
