KUZMICKY, Douglas, born May 19, 1935, passed away November 14, 2002. Doug is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Doreen and his twin sister June (Reg) Berry. There will be no service by request.

ASHTON, Ivy (nee Smith). Born April 24th, 1904 in Doncaster, England. Passed away peacefully on January 20th, 2003. She is predeceased by her husband William Martin Ashton, daughters Arlene, Stella, step-son Martin, brothers Jack Smith, Joseph Smith and sister Ethel Johnson. No service by request. May your dreams ride on the wings of angels who know their way home to the skies.

BAIN, Sharon Gail It is with deep sorrow that I write this, Sharon Gail Bain born December 30th, 1948 has passed away after a courageous battle with a rare brain cancer on January 20th, 2003. She will be missed by all who knew her, but most of all by her loving family. She is survived by her husband Gordon Bain, daughters Lisa Bain and Tania Bain, father Allan Alex; sister Barbara Kourtessis; brother-in-law Artemis Kourtessis; nephew Alex Kourtessis, niece Krista "belle" Kourtessis, and her devoted pets Bella, Trouble and Percy. We were very lucky to have her as long as we did, she was an amazing person that touched a lot of lives. "We love you mom and you will be in our hearts forever, until we see you again take care." A service will be held at the family home on Saturday, February 1st, 2003 at 2pm. 8048 159A Street, Surrey B.C.

BANCROFT, George Edward born in Burnaby November 2, 1927 passed away suddenly January 21, 2003. He is loved and remembered by his wife Diane, daughter Elizabeth (Rick), sons Donald and James, grandchildren Angela and Matthew, brother James (Hazel) and their son Robert (Bonnie) and Robert's children Colin, Shanna and Laura. George came from a Burnaby family who were pioneers in the poultry industry. Graduating from Burnaby South High School in 1947 he was proud to be leading Army Cadets, his first experience as a leader in society. He went on to graduate from UBC with a degree in poultry science working for agriculture Canada, he not only rose through the ranks but also earned the respect of both his peers and those he served. George also served the PNE for over 60 years starting with exhibits as a 4H member and progressing to the top, coming up with innovative ideas along the way such as the celebrity egg lay contest so that money could be raised for charity. George was a giver and a lover of animals. For anyone wishing to Celebrate His Life a Service will be held on Monday, January 27, 2003 at Columbia-Bowell Chapel, 219-6th Street, New Westminster at 11:00 a.m. with a reception to follow. BURKE, Michael beloved brother of Janet Phillips and James J. Burke passed away after a long illness January 18, 2003 in Boston MA. He lived in Vancouver since 1977 and was a caregiver at the Haro Park Nursing Home. Private family service was held in Boston.

CAREFOOT, Dorothy Margaret born 1917 Grandview Manitoba passed away peacefully January 23, 2003 at 85 years of age in Coquitlam B.C. Predeceased by husbands Clifford Rogers and Garnet Carefoot, daughters Ann and Shirley. Survived and fondly remembered by daughter Carol and husband Jean Guy; son Campbell and wife Betty , son Jack and wife Betty, daughter Lynn and husband Murray, daughter Wendy plus many grandchildren. No service by request.

CESAR, Judith Julianna (nee Baka), born August 31, 1917 in Dariany, Somogy, Hungary, died Friday, January 17, 2003 at Norwood Nursing Home, Toronto - Beloved wife of the late Stephen Cesar. Cremation has taken place. A memorial Mass was held at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, Bloor Street West (Kingsway) on Monday, January 20, 2003. Fondly remembered by friends, old and new.

CHARRON, Guy Rene, born February 1, 1936 passed away Wednesday, January 22, 2003. Guy was a long-time resident of Richmond. Beloved husband of Donna; loving father to Susan (Rod), Judy (Peter), Barbara (Rudy) and David (Cheryl); loving and proud grandfather to Justin, Adam, Shannon, Tim, Jessica and Dennis; brother to Albert (Mary), Louis (Yvonne), Eugene (Sharon) and Adrien (Isabel). Predeceased by brother Lucien. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, January 28, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. at Fraser Heights Funeral Home, 14835 Fraser Highway, Surrey. COTTON, George Albert, surrounded by his loving immediate family, son George Charles Cotton, daughter in-law Colleen and granddaughter Spencer. Margaret passed away peacefully June 29, 2002 at UBC Hospital Vancouver at the age of 86. Born November 12, 1915 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, George grew up in St. James where he met and married his beloved wife of 49 years Eliza Jane (Jenny) Harris who predeceased him in 1992. He was well known as a champion competitive golfer both in Manitoba and British Columbia and made many lifelong friends through his passion for the game. He spent his professional life in the automotive business and particularly enjoyed his time as a partner and President of Mutual Warehouses. Besides his immediate family in Vancouver. George is survived by brothers Fred and Bert Cotton of Winnipeg, Manitoba. His brother Alex of Vancouver passed away January 12, 2003. A funeral in celebration of George's life was held July 5, 2002 at St. Andrews Wesley United Church in Vancouver, B.C. If friends desire donations in the memory of George to The Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated.

COULSON, George Harvey passed away January 23, 2003. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years. Thelma, his sister, 2 nieces, a nephew and their families. ALLEN, James Michael (Jim). Passed away on March 6, 2003 at Delta Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. Jim was born March 22, 1939 in Edmonton, Alberta. He lived in Milk River, Alberta until 1952 when the family moved to Haney, B.C. He spent the last thirty-three years living in Ladner, raising his family here. His career was that of a Meteorologist, retiring in 1994. Jim was an active member of The Delta Branch of the Elks and the Ladner Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion. Jim volunteered for many community activities and was a member of R.E.V.V. He leaves his loving wife of 39 years, Val; sons, Terry, Chris (Penny) and Roger; granddaughters, Natalie and Kimberly; also brother Jack (May) of Chilliwack and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Frank and Edna Allen, and sister and brother-in-law Marlene and Bill Easton. A Memorial Service will be held On Tuesday, March 11, 2003 at 1 PM in the Chapel of Delta Funeral Home, 5329 Ladner Trunk Road, Delta, B.C. In lieu of flowers, donations to B.C. BARTON, Dean, born June 10, 1926 in Brandon, Manitoba, passed away with his wife at his side, on March 5, 2003 at the Peace Arch Hospital in White Rock, B.C. Dean will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 54 years, Phyllis; children Leigh (Jerry), Kim (Don); grandchildren Michael, Susan, Andrea, Rebecca, Lori, Jennifer, Douglas; his sister Eleanor Wightman of Regina. Dean was an employee of Imperial Oil Limited, based in Vancouver and then Edmonton, for 35 years before retiring with Phyllis to White Rock. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Tuesday, March 11 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Fraser Heights Funeral Home, 14835 Fraser Highway, Surrey, B.C. BENDER, Richard died tragically Thursday, March 6, 2003 at the age of 37. He is survived by his loving family, wife Lori, children Rebecca and James. He will be greatly missed by his mother Beverley and father Stanley, his younger brother David, grandmothers Ethel and Frieda. BISHOP, Roland Sydney passed away peacefully on February 28, 2003. He was born on Grand Manan Island, NB. Roland was well known from coast to coast as he served in WWII as well as retired from the Royal Canadian Navy as a P2BN4. Predeceased by his wife Muriel. Survived by his son Roland Frederick (Paula); grandchildren Kristoffer, Kimberlee (Jay), Rick (Maria), Rene; great-grandchildren, Jessica and Freddy, all of Boston. Also survived by his daughter Lynda Bishop; granddaughters, Chantale (Tony) Snelling, Crystal Edmondson, all of Cloverdale. Survived by sisters, Virgina, Dot, Joan (Bob), Betty; and brother Doug (Jenny). Roland has left a mark on everyone he has ever come in contact with and will be greatly missed.
