DAVIDSON, Matthew Cory John of Vancouver, B.C. September 25, 1969 - August 25, 2004. Cory passed away suddenly in Swift Current, Saskatchewan at the age of 34. He loved music, art and sports. He will be deeply missed by Leona Robinson (ex-wife), Jason Davidson (brother), Babe (brother's girlfriend), Alyssa Desjardins (sister), Erin Lough (mother), Dave Desjardins (step-father), Shirley Robinson (ex - mother in-law), Jim Robinson (ex - father in-law) and many others. DUBE, Arthur Martin, born November 5, 1938, in Hudsons Bay Junction, Saskatchewan, passed away after a short bout with cancer on August 28, 2004, in Burnaby, B.C. Predeceased by his brother Richard. BOWKER, RITA M. (nee Bryan) on September 1, 2004, at the age of 88 years. Rita was born in Calgary and moved with her family to Vancouver as a small child. As a young girl Rita played the Cornet with the Kitsilano Girls Band under the baton of Arthur Delamont. She was also a long time member of the Vancouver Sea Rangers and worked for Boeing in Vancouver during the war years. She volunteered with the Women's Auxilliary of the Burnaby General Hospital for over 30 years. She had a love of flowers and was a long time member of the Begonia and Fuschia Club. Rita had a desire to know the world and its cultures, and traveled to many countries throughout her life. Her most memorable adventures included a cruise to Alaska on a Russian freighter, a very long flight to Hawaii on a DC-6 and a walk along the Great Wall in China. A woman ahead of her time in so many ways, Rita was one of a kind. She was predeceased by her husband Len; her sister Betty; and her brothers Ted, Rick and Larry. She is survived by her sisters-in-law Jean Bryan of Richmond and Marilyn Bryan of Port Alberni; as well as her dear friend Tina Bryan also of Port Alberni; and numerous nieces and nephews. DHALIWAL, Balwant Singh. March 1, 1931 - September 6, 2004. Passed away after an unexpected illness on Monday, September 6th at Surrey Memorial Hospital. He arrived in Canada in 1961 and is predeceased by his wife, Gurdev Kaur and survived by his 2 sons, Harbhajan (Narinder), Balkar (Rajinder) and 2 daughters Kuldeep (Balbir) Bolina and Harvinder (Kulwinder) Badesha as well as 10 grandchildren. Our dad lived life to the fullest and will be sadly missed by all. DRAGT, George passed away peacefully on Tuesday evening September 7, 2004 after a long and difficult time of illness. He was predeceased by his wife Margaret. He leaves to mourn his passing his caring and loving companion Verna Buchanan, as well as niece Geerdi Vaartjes and family and nephew Wout Dragt and family, both from the Netherlands. FITZSIMMONS, Marie Elizabeth (Liz, Betty): Born October 10, 1946 in Trail, B.C. "Went Home" September 6, 2004 from St. Paul's Hospital, Vancouver after a courageous battle with emphysema. Liz was predeceased by her mother Marie Tutt. Liz will always be remembered for her way with words, gentle kindness to others less fortunate, dedication to her many gardens, and her kitten Katherine Hepburn. Liz will be lovingly missed by Michael Wong, Will Shields, her aunties, uncles, cousins, dear friend Mona Brun and her friends in the St. James community. Armed with a degree in Marketing and a wonderful flair with words, Liz was published in many magazines including Chatelaine and Canadian Living. HENDERSON, Robert "Bob" 1942. Raised in his beloved Pelly, Saskatchewan entered into rest on September 6th, 2004. In soldiering his personal war with cancer, his family awarded him their purple heart. Survived by his wife Yvonne with whom he shared 38 years of mutual love, respect and loyalty; cherished daughters Cher (Jason) and Tracey (Troy); precious grandsons Hayden and Chase; beloved brothers Wayne (Donna), Larry (Ruth), Dick (Joyce), Kenneth and Don (Cassie); as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. CARLSON, Gladys Louisa (nee Allen) born December 2, 1910, passed away peacefully in her sleep the morning of November 16, 2004 at the Numylo Nursing Home in Toowoomba, Queensland, Australia. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Lois and Don Dowdle; and three grandchildren Alison, Arthur and Donald of 2 Maydean Place, Hodgsonvale, Queensland, Australia 4352. Also nephews Martin, Doug and Ted Allen and niece Jean all of Vancouver, B.C. She lived most of her life in Vancouver attending St. George United Church for many years and had many happy memories of her friendships there. She was a compassionate and loving friend to many and the best mom in the whole world.

CARROLL, Imogene Faye "Jean" Born November 10, 1927. Passed away November 17, 2004, after a long and courageous battle with Post-Polio Syndrome at Delta Hospital Extended Care Facility. CHAN, Fung Moon born Sept. 22, 1910 passed away November 15, 2004 surrounded by her loving family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is survived by her son Joe (Shui Ha) and daughter Yim Ngan (Jun Hop), 9 grandchildren: Judy (Kerry), Gary (Angela), Gordon (Debbie), Grant (Bonnie), Nancy (Derek), Greg (Winnie), Yung-Kit (Yin-Yee), Mun-Kit (Luy-Hoong) and Julie (Eric), and 15 great-grandchildren: Bradley, Samantha, Ryan, Howard, Calvin, Zachary, Amanda, Isabel, Jonathan, Brittany, Melissa, Bianca, Natasha, Caitlyn and Brandon. She will always be remembered as a generous and selfless person dedicated to her family. Grandma will be missed dearly. COLLARD, Frank William, November 21, 1921 - October 31, 2004. Passed away peacefully after a series of infections in Lions Gate Hospital. Frank was much loved by his daughters Susan Harding (Nigel Hemingway) and June Harris (Lyle), his sisters Joyce Wicks (Ron) and Joan Hewes (George), his grandchildren Dr. Natasha Williams (Jordan), Jon and Sean Harding, Joel, Nathan and Stephanie Harris, great-granddaughter Jenna Williams, and best friend and companion, Joan Gurnett. Frank was born in the London borough of West Ham. He was a distinguished war veteran who fought courageously for England and her allies as an R.A.F Flight Lieutenant in the far east during World War II. Frank was awarded the Military Cross for his acts of heroism in volunteering as a member of an airborne team which parachuted into Elephant Point, Rangoon, Burma, on May 1, 1945, as a result of which, Rangoon was captured from the Japanese occupying forces. As commanding officer of Force 136 he and his group of fighters liberated Buko Village, Burma, on September 8, 1945, two weeks after a cease-fire had been declared. After a distinguished post war career as dock master of Tilbury Dock in the Port of London, Frank, wife Julie Collard and daughter June decided to come to Canada to seek a new life in 1972. Frank worked first for Western Stevedoring and then for Star Shipping as President of Squamish Terminals Ltd. A private memorial service was conducted at 100 Mile House, by Reverend Pat Melanson of Cariboo Christian Life Church. Our thanks to Dr. Fingland, the other doctors and the nursing staff of Lions Gate Hospital for their care and concern during this very difficult time. Donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada (B.C. Branch) in lieu of flowers.

COMPAGNA, Cecile Marie (Roch), born May 25, 1916, died peacefully with her family at her side, November 18, 2004. She was predeceased by her husbands, Joseph Lafreniere in 1967 and Robert in 1999. Lovingly missed by her four children, Lorraine (John), Robert (Sandy), Norman (Denise), and Ronald; seven grandchildren, Dennis (Trish), Shelley (Dick), Mark (Mandy), Jeffrie (Salima), Babette (Art), Troy, Jennifer (Jason); fifteen great-grandchildren, Breyen, Kyle, Taylor, Kyle, Danielle, Loell, Lionel, Scott, Randy, Chayse, Dustynne, Beau, Kody, Ian, Andrew, and Kimberlie; sister Jeanne; brother Raymond (Angie); as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends. CUNNINGHAM, Patricia Lynn, passed away peacefully on November 16, 2004 in her sleep at Burnaby Hospital with her family at her side at the age of 33. She is survived by her loving husband Richard of 4 years; her parents Geraldine and Errol Kral; 2nd mom Madeline Fleet; her grandfather Joe Hallwas; her siblings Dana and Aaron; Rita and Roz and her closest friends Christine, Teresa and Robert. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her and all who associated with her. In honour of her memory we ask that in lieu of flowers, that donations are to be made to the B.C. Cancer Foundation in her memory. We wish to thank everyone who had helped her in her time of illness, from all the doctors from VGH, BGH and the Fraser Valley Cancer Clinic.
