PERVIS - Dorothy Margaret Cornwell (nee Leigh) of North Vancouver. Passed peacefully to a heavenly home on November 17, 1998, aged 89. Dorothy was born in Rayleigh, England in 1909 to missionaary parents in Northern Ontario. She will be lovingly remembered by her son, Dr. Dennis W. Pervis, daughter-in-law Joan and grandson Robert, of Coquitlam. Predeceased by her husband William, KIA, Canadian Army, 1944, by her parents, Rev. GRANT - Francis Joseph (Frank) born October 2, 1920 died November 6, 1998 after a 1 year struggle with a condition called Amyloidosis. Frank was born in Dauphin, Manitoba, he moved to Port Arthur, Ontario (now Thunder Bay) in 1936. In April 1941 he enlisted in the R.C.A.F. and trained as a Pilot. During the war he flew operations on Canada's East Coast, Newfoundland, Labrador and later in the U.K. where he was awarded a (D.F.C.) Distinguished Flying Cross. Discharged October 1945 he enrolled at U.B.C. January 2, 1946, graduating with a Bachelor of Commerce degree in 1948. His entire business career was in Vancouver. He was a past President of the Building Owners & Managers Association of B.C. and was active in Downtown Kiwanis for 30 years and involved in many City and Industry Committees. He was a long time member of The Terminal City Club and The Squamish Valley Golf & Country Club. Survived by his loving wife, Cicely and his 2 sons; Gordon Page Grant of Nanaimo and Patrick Noel Grant of San Diego; daughter-in-law, Christine Graham and his beloved grandaughter Kieren Grant. Allan was predeceased by two brothers Bill and Rupert, and two sisters Phyllis and Margaret. He leaves here Iris, his wife of 57 years and three daughters with families of their own. Allan was an independent building contractor and specialized in home renovations. His love of the garden was an excellent hobby as he cared for year round vegetables and shared his abundance. Allan retired to Qualicum Beach taking his hobby with him. He also cares for three foster children. Will be sadly missed by his loving wife Cora and daughter Anne (Bob), sons Bob (Caroline and Ken (Rejane), seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren. By his sister Mildred and family in Scotland. Ken worked many years at Pacific Press until his retirement in 1978. He was a member of Hollyburn Masonic Lodge #135 for more than fifty years where he served a s Worshipful Master in 1971. Special thanks to the dedicated medical staff at Delta and St. Paul's Hospitals. Service wil be held at Hollyburn Funeral Home, 1807 Malrine Drive, West Vancouver, at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 10, 1998.
