BITTS - Barbara Ellen (nee MacKenzie R.N. P.N.P.) passed away peacefully at her parent's home among loving family and friends present. Barbara is survived by her loving son Matthew, parents Ken and Audrey MacKenzie, loving sister Jacquie Lyth, special nephew Jeffrey Lyth (Anna), grandmother Mary MacKenzie, cousins, aunts and uncles. Barbara is a graduate of V.G.H. and received her P.N.P. at University of Washington where she lived and nursed for ten years. Barbara has been nursing at Children's Hospital in special care nursery and later in Neo Natal follow up program for 16 years. Thank you to her friends Loreen, Shelia, Ruth, Angela, Phileppa who lovingly nursed and cared for her. The family is most grateful for their kindness. Barbara was a very caring, loving, gentle person. We will miss her forever. HANNA - Brendon William. Passed away in the North Country that he loved. Brendon will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by his mother Mona, her companion Allan, fiancee Joan, brother Gary, sister Kathy (Grant), nieces and nephew Heather, Michael and Allison and his uncles, aunts and cousins in Northern Ireland and Alberta. GOERES - Claire passed away peacefully on July 2, 1997 at Lions Gate Hospital, aged 87. She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her daughter Jo (Louis); granddaughter Ceri (Cal); grandson David (Sherri); son-in-law David Sr; sister Marie Walters and much loved great-granddaughters Kirsten and Samantha. RADA - Edy. Born in Vienna, Austria on September 13, 1922. Passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 13, 1997 in North Vancouver, B.C. Beloved husband of Beverley; survived by his son Marcel Rada and his daughter Nicolette Larrabee (Seth); his sister Gretl Vetricek. Edy was an accomplished figure skater and coach, he was Austrian Champion from 1939-1949, Olympic Bronze Medalist in 1948, European Champion in 1949, professional skating instructor for over 40 years in Vancouver and on the North Shore. GARDNER - Agnes Maude, late of North Vancouver. Born October 12, 1914, passed away July 15, 1997 at Chilliwack Hospital. Predeceased by her husband Charlie. She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her brother Henry (Jean) Botting; daughters Grace (Don) and Gail (Doug); eight grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. Born and raised in North Vancouver, a longtime Woodward's and Gold's Drapery employee, she retired to the Fraser Valley to tend her gardens, read, do crossword puzzles and to knit and crochet. HOPEN - Helen Mary, died July 2, 1997 in North Vancouver. She was born on April 11, 1916 in Halkirk, Alberta and married Einar Hopen on June 7, 1958. Prior to her marriage, she managed the Rougemont Apts in Vancouver and continued in that position for several years afterward. From 1968 - 1977, Mr and Mrs Hopen owned a home in the south end of Vancouver. When Mr Hopen retired in 1977, they moved to an apartment in North Vancouver. Her experience as a manager served her well in the role of homemaker for her 39 years of marriage. She is survived by her husband Einar of North Vancouver; sister Evelyn Vorath of North Vancouver; two brothers Bob and Bud Shattock and a sister Irene Harvard of Vermillion, Alberta; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers Ken and Wilfred Shattock. Memorial Service will be held in the Centennial Branch of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 3333 Kaslo St, Vancouver on July 20, 1997 at 12:00 noon.
