MANN - Joseph Gibney. Passed away peacefully on July 25, 1997 at the age of 77. Born in Vancouver of Irish parents he is survived by Bettie his loving wife of 55 years, his daughter Janice (Bob Walker), and predeceased by his son Douglas. He will be missed by his sisters Irene (Len Postill) and Pat (Stan Ostlund), the Robertson clan, nieces, nephews and grandchildren. Joe served four years with the R.C.A.F. Since his retirement from the Men's Wear Agency business he has been a volunteer with the Senior Centre in West Vancouver. RIDSDALE - Reg. Born Reginald Edwin in London, England. An avowed and proud Canadian citizen. Served in England during World War II with the ADRDE under Sir John Cockcroft in the development of radar. P.Eng., former head of the Electrical and Electronics department of British Columbia Institute of Technology and author of electrical engineering texts. Served Canada with CIDA in Zambia and Sri Lanka. Longtime member and past treasurer of the Vancouver chapter of the Chaine de Rotisseurs. Greatly enjoyed his daily walks on the West Vancouver Seawall in the last years of his life. Reg was in his 80th year when he died in Vancouver General Hospital on July 25, 1997 after a serious head injury. He is survived by his loving wife Pegi; daughters Anne Mott (Geoffrey) and Marilyn Ridsdale (Jack Tomson); son Gary Ridsdale (Valerie); grandchildren Jennifer Merrifield, David and Geoffrey Mott, Lalieth, Jessie and Eryn White, Kevin and Danny Ridsdale; sister Gladys Church and family in Ontario. His intelligence, wit and style will be greatly missed by us all. There will be no funeral services at Reg's request. JOHNSEN - Karl Olav born May 6, 1914 in Oslo, Norway. Passed away May 4, 1997 at Lions Gate Hospital. Karl emigrated to Toronto, June, 1954 with four children, and moved to B.C. in 1982. Karl is survived by his loving wife Ragnhild; daughters Bjorg, Tone (Graham); sons Robert (Wendy), Wilfred (Antoinetta); nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. A strong man with a good sense of humour, Albert was a very loving husband, father and grandfather.
