CORNBOROUGH - Winnifred Ellen, born June 6, 1920, lived her life in North Vancouver. Passed away on August 14, 1997 at Cedar View Lodge. She has left to join her beloved husband Gordon. Predeceased by her brother Frank Davis. DALGARNO - Roy Douglas born in Aberdeen, Scotland, November 10, 1921, passed peacefully August 12, 1997 at Lions Gate Hospital. Beloved husband of Eleanor (Ellie); loving father to Brian (Phyllis) and Michael; grandad to Tracey (Don) and Richard (Jennifer); great-grandad to little Devon Jean. In Scotland, sister Heather (Jim) and family; brother David (Norma) and family. In England, niece Eleanor and nephews Geoffrey, Malcolm and Donald and their families. Cousins in Canada and Great Britain. Roy was a long time member of Silver Harbour Seniors Centre and choir, and a past member of the choir at Kennedy House in Delta. McLEAN - Eileen Louise (nee West) died on August 12, 1997. She was born July 6, 1915 at Rivers, Manitoba, spent her childhood in Innisfail, Alberta and her early marriage years in Kitchener, Ontario, before moving with her husband Dr. Clifford McLean to the West Coast. Eileen started her career as a registered nurse in 1936, after graduating from the Royal Jubilee Hospital in Victoria. Her long and successful career included many years as a Head Nurse in St. Paul's Open Heart Surgery Programme, and prior to retirement, as the Operating Room Supervisor at Shaughnessy Hospital. She survived her husband Cliff and their two children, Bonnie and John and is survived by her sister Betty and many close relatives and friends. We will celebrate Eileen's life at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 19, at Hollyburn Funeral Home, 1807 Marine Drive, West Vancouver, and afterwards at her apartment. Her indomitable spirit triumphed, despite the pain and disability of her last few years.

ARNOTT - Kathleen Louise passed away on July 31, 1997 at the age of 93. Predeceased by her beloved husband Fred and son Angus. She will be greatly missed by son Michael; daughters-in-law Boodie and Billie; grandchildren Shawn, Glenda, Steven, Erin and Kevin; and great-grandchildren Meghan, Caitlin, Shane, Cheyann and Alex. HUESTIS - Mary Elizabeth died at Inglewood Care Centre in her 91st year on Sunday, August 3, 1997. Wife of the late Colonel R. Douglas Huestis. She is survived by his children Dr. Douglas W. AITCHISON - Alexander. July 25, 1997, in Lions Gate Hospital, after a lengthy bout with pulmonary fibrosis. Predeceased by his beloved wife Grace (Ferguson) of West Vancouver. Born in Edinburgh, Scotland, 1931, he came to Montreal in 1955 and later to Vancouver's North Shore. Alex was a generous donor to Lions Gate Hospital and the Cancer Society among other charities.
