Predeceased by her first husband Lars Peter Andersen and second husband Axel Wall. Survived by sons George, Jack, Charles and their families which include eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. WILTSHIRE - Geraldine "Gerry". Died peacefully on Friday, Sept-ember 3, 1999 in North Vancouver. Born March 10, 1911 in Vancouver. Geraldine (Gerry) worked for the Canadian Red Cross during the Second World War and until she retired. She was Past-President of the Business and Professional Women's Club for B.C. and the Yukon. Predeceased by her husband John Charles, and son-in-law Leslie Brooks. Devoted mother to Jean'ne Brooks. Lovingly missed by her grandchildren Nadine (Jay) Carter, Christopher (Linda) Brooks, and great-grandchildren Jason, Shauna and Sydney. Gerry made people happy around her with her sense of humor and friendly smile. She lived in West Vancouver and her passion was her garden which she spent many happy hours working in. SHEPHERD - Renee G. Passed away peacefully September 6, 1999 at age 80. She is survived by her three children John (Alison), Mark (Teri) and Michele (Tim), and nine grandchildren. Renee retired from Lions Gate Hospital in 1984 after many years as a nurse. At her request there will be no memorial service. A heartfelt thank you to the staff at Lynn Valley Lodge.
SUTCLIFFE - LaVane. A longtime resident of West Vancouver. Died quietly in her sleep, on September 11, 1999 at the age of 80, in the Inglewood Care Centre, West Vancouver, B.C. She was born on January 24, 1919 in Prelate, Saskatchewan, grew up in Swift Current, Saskatchewan and lived in Winnipeg and England during the years of the Second World War. She returned to Canada and lived in Victoria for a few years before returning to Vancouver in 1947. She lived in West Vancouver for the past 40 years. LaVane was active in the real estate business on the North Shore until 10 years ago, when she retired.
She will be sadly missed by her son and daughter-in-law, Ross and Marcia Lewis and their children Pamela and Adam of West Vancouver, her sister Margaret Prevo of Florida and many nieces, nephews, devoted friends and former associates.
The family would like to thank the nurses and other caregivers at Inglewood Care Centre for the professional care and extra attention that you gave to LaVane over the past few years.

We will cherish memories of Maxine as a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. MELIS - Abraham (Bram). Born Geleen, Holland on March 29, 1931. Flew away peacefully, September 10, 1999, 4:11 p.m. in his 68th year. Bram fought a courageous battle against cancer in the "room with the revolving door", with his positive outlook, his never ending humour, and shall remain an inspiration to many. In Holland Bram enjoyed playing soccer, he served in the Dutch Navy in the early 1950's in Papua, New Guinea. Upon leaving the Navy Bram served on the Dutch Police Force. In 1962 Bram and his young family emigrated to North Vancouver. In North Van Bram was heavily involved with the Bert Duke Softball League for many years, as well the B.C. Amateur Boxing Assoc. In his later years Bram turned his love of dancing and music towards a longtime involvement with the Hot Jazz Club. Bram worked for Schlage Lock Co., C.A.E. Morse, and for many many happy years for B.C. Rail until his retirement. Bram is survived, loved, and humorously remembered by his 4 children, Loesje Jacob of Armstrong, B.C., Joanne Emmons of North Vancouver, Sonja Gaudet of Vernon, Paul Melis of North Van and his former wife Johanna Melis. He will always be Opa Op's to his seven grandchildren Emily, Jordan, Mason, Alysha, Colten, Dylan and Jacob. To his many friends, please remember the "Dancing Dutchman" with a chuckle and a smile for his offbeat sense of humour and his style.

COOKE - Ronald. Born August 1, 1922. Passed away peacefully at home on September 3, 1999 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Lovingly missed by Ruby, his wife of 54 years; children Randy (Melodie), Kathy (Tommy), son-in-law Adolf, Mark (Grace); and his brothers Curtis (Helen) and Arthur (Janet). He will always have a special place in his grandchildren's hearts Bobby (Deborah), Jan, Chris, Travis, Reece, Nicholas, Jennifer and Rhett, and great-grandchildren Brandon and Devon. His loss will also touch the many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends in Wales, the United States and Canada. HOLL - Ella Rose. Born in Kings Lynn, Norfolk, England on April 4, 1907. Died peacefully at Lions Gate Hospital on Sunday, September 5, 1999 following a stroke. She was predeceased by her husband Harold in 1975. She will be lovingly remembered by her sons Michael and Brian, daughter-in-law Marilyn and longtime family friend Bill. For many years she had been an active member of the WISE Club and WISE Glee Singers in Vancouver and a founder-member of the West Vancouver Seniors Centre.
