HUGGINS, Allan Stanley Saturday, 12 Aug 2006
Al, of Burnaby, B.C., was born and raised in Armstrong, B.C. He passed away in Burnaby General Hospital from a stroke and massive hemorrhage. Following high school he served in the R.C.A.F. In 1955, he joined B.C. Telephone, employed 33 years, retiring in 1989. Devoted volunteer installing Lifeline for 15 years. Past member and volunteer of B.C. Sports Car Club. He enjoyed many years of curling, golf and his beloved flower garden. Al lived to play Old Timers Hockey with Burnaby Winter Club and was inspired by Green Lake property at 70 Mile House. Al is forever loved and sadly missed by his wife Beverley, brother Norman (Marg, deceased), niece Marina (Grant) Crosland and family, nephew Steven, all of Kamloops; brother Ian (Karen) of Armstrong; niece Leslie (Michael) O’Flynn and family of Kelowna; niece Teri Huggins (Darren Copp) of Vancouver, and many other family and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations in Al’s memory may be made to Hospital Foundations of: 100 Mile Hospital, 100 Mile House; Royal Inland Hospital, Kamloops; or Burnaby General Hospital, Burnaby. Special thanks to above hospitals’ doctors and nursing staff for their compassionate care. Cremation-Interment, Forest Lawn in Burnaby. Gathering of Remembrance, Hart House Restaurant, 6664 Deer Lake Ave., Burnaby, Friday, August 25, 2006, 1 p.m.

CSONTOS, Martin Sunday, 06 Aug 2006
Born March 7th, 1948 in Dover, New Jersey, Marty passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family after a year-long battle with cancer on August 6th, 2006. He worked many years in the construction business and became a master electrician working in Florida and North Carolina. He moved with his wife Bev to 100 Mile House in 2001 and established a home inspection business called Gate to Gable which he thoroughly enjoyed. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Bev, son Craig, parents Irene and Albert, brother Alan (Ethlyn), sister Judy (Gary), niece Rebecca, nephews Ryan and Michael, step-children Jason, Sarah and Tina, grandchildren Zack and Autumn “Gracie.” Heartfelt thanks to 100 Mile House hospital, home nursing care, and Pharmasave staff, with special thanks for Dr. Lapin and Dr. Avenessian, Nicole Strong and Annemarie Brown. A memorial service was held on Tuesday, August 8th at 3 p.m. Cremation arrangement entrusted to 100 Mile House Funeral Services. Ltd.

SANDBACK, John Edwin Tuesday, 11 Jul 2006
On July 11, 2006, John Edwin Sandback past away peacefully at Kamloops at the age of 88 years. He is survived by his brother Eric of Penticton, nephews Robert (Sharlene) of Kamloops, Steven of Kamloops, John of Calgary, and niece Irene (Jake) of Vanderhoof. John was born in Britannia Mines, B.C. He moved to Forest Grove later that year. John spent all his early life at the Sandback Ranch in Forest Grove. He had many occupations: a farmer, a logger, a road builder and a truck driver. He enjoyed farming the most. In 1941 John joined the army and went overseas. In 1945 he returned from overseas to the farm. In 1989 the farm was sold and John moved to Kamloops. No service by request. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Justin Clark of Personal Alternative Funeral Services.

HODGSON, Naeme “Ruth” (nee Siemens) Thursday, 02 Dec 2004
Ruth was born in Hepburn, Sask.; the eleventh of 16 children to Abrahm and Lena Siemens. Her family immigrated to B.C. in 1936 to the Abbotsford area. As an adult, she worked in various regions of B.C., finally settling in Lumby where she met her husband Graham. They were married in 1954 and together they raised five children, eventually moving to the Cariboo in 1961. Ruth was predeceased by her mother, father, 12 siblings and one great-grandson. Survived by her husband, Graham; sons Lloyd (Holly), Robert (Glenda), Blair (Diane); daughters Colleen (Larry) and Debbie (Ray); 11 grandchildren and 11 great- grandchildren.

HARDER, Doris Ellen Saturday, 04 Dec 2004
Doris Ellen Harder of Penhold Alta., passed away Dec. 4, 2004 at the age of 68 years. Doris was born Sept. 2, 1936 in Silverdale B.C. She moved to 100 Mile House and area in 1959 and then moved to Penhold, in the summer of 2000. Doris is survived by her husband of 50 years, Ben of Penhold; son Owen of Innisfail Alta.; daughters Heather of Penhold and Joanne of Oshawa, Ont.; grandchildren Maygen and Michelle Harder, and Chloe and Leeam Brown. Doris is also survived by nine brothers and sisters all of B.C. She was predeceased by her parents Art & Alice Rose. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. 4730A Ross Street, Red Deer, AB. T4N 1X2. A memorial tea will be held at the Innisfail Royal Canadian Legion, Innisfail Alta., Wednesday, December 22 from 1:00 to 3:00pm.
Cremation entrusted to Metcalf Funeral Chapel, 4200 49th Ave. Innisfail. Phone 227-3123.

BOYD, Peter Allen Wednesday, 08 Dec 2004
Peter Allen Boyd passed away suddenly on Dec. 8, 2004, 13 km outside of Boston Bar at the age of 40. Peter leaves to grieve his wife Andrea, his daughter Brittany, niece Melissa, mother Maureen Manke (Dale), brother Gordon Hamilton (Shari), his siblings Georgia Perkins (Rick), Linda Lester (George), John Boyd (Olive), Sally Aitken (Joe), Joan Lipert (Rob), Susan Grenier (Claude) and Stephen Mills; sister-in-laws Joyce Ingram (Don), Rachel Toop (Ed) and Wendy Lester and mother and father-in-law Carol and Burleigh Murray and many nieces and nephews. A viewing will be held Thurs. Dec. 16, 2004 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held on Fri. Dec. 17, 2004 at 2 p.m. from the Chapel of Valley View Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home, 14644-72Ave., Surrey, B.C. There will be a tea to follow at Valley View.

VERMETTE, Pauline Elaine Friday, 03 Dec 2004

We regret to announce the passing of Pauline Elaine Vermette on Dec. 3, 2004 at age 72 in 100 Mile Hospital. She will be sadly missed by her husband of 50 years, Marvin Vermette; her children: Darlene Shewchuck in La Loche, Sask.; Myrna (Stanton Lamb), 100 Mile House, B.C.; Wendy (Mel Warkentin), 105 Mile House, B.C.; Lyle (Catherine), 108 Mile Ranch, B.C.; Adrian (Maureen), Kamloops, B.C.; Kelly, 103 Mile, B.C.; and Kim of Stellarton, N.S.; brothers: Bill Shewchuk (Cathy), Prince Albert, Sask. and Harry Shewchuk of Shipman, Sask.; sister Emily Poulin of Thunder Bay, Ont. and sister-in-law Annette Basaraba of Meath Park, Sask.; 17 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Pauline was predeceased by father Nick and mother Katie Shewchuk, brother Bernard, infant sister Phyllis and grandson Terry Lamb. Born and raised in Shipman, Pauline married Mervin in Prince Albert on Nov. 20, 1954. They moved to 100 Mile House in 1965. She enjoyed cooking for her family, bingo, crosswords and canning. Her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren meant the world to Pauline. Pauline had a special friend Elsa. Baba will be missed by all who knew her. A Catholic Funeral Mass will be held today, Dec. 8, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Jude’s Catholic Church, Father Emil Sasges officiating. Interment to follow in the 100 Mile Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Pauline’s memory to 100 Mile Hospice and Palliative Care Society, Box 399, 100 Mile House, B.C., V0K 2E0.
