McDIARMAID - Elizabeth Jane (Betty). Peacefully at home March 13, 2000, age 77. Predeceased by her husband Bob. She is survived by brothers Bob MacDonald of Kelowna and Ian MacDonald of Winipeg. A memorial service will be held at Hollyburn Funeral Home, 922-1221, 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 18, 2000. In lieu of flowers donations to Canadian Cancer Society or Lions Gate Hospital Foundation would be appreciated.

COOPER - Leroy Thomas (Roy). As he was going about his daily life he passed from this life March 10, 2000. Survived by his loving wife Florence; his sisters, Eva Tarton of Tsawwassen and Muriel Ontkean Cooper of Vancouver; his two daughters, Darci and her husband Derek Cash, North Vancouver and Valerie and her husband David Hignell of Cowichan Valley; four grandchildren, Deardre and Trevor Cash, Bryan and Tamara Hignell of Courtney, and Lisa and Matt Cox of Colorado, and four great-grandchildren who will know their Great-grandfather by legend and story. Roy was born the fourth of six children to Pearl and Thomas Cooper in Regina, January 15, 1915. He served the City of Vancouver as an automotive electrician for 25 years and was an active C.U.P.E unionist. He was tireless in helping his family and community and was a servant of the Lord all of his life. A Memorial Service will be held March 17, 2000, 1:30 p.m. at Trinity Baptist Church, 49th and Granville. A Memorial Tea will be held March 22, 1:30 p.m. at Hillside Baptist Church, 870 Lynn Valley Rd, North Vancouver. Flowers gratefully declined. Donations may be made to the M.S. Society or to the C.N.I.B. in Roy's memory. "Dad, Grandpa we will miss you and cherish your memory forever."

CRABB - Isabelle Scott (nee Johnstone). Passed away peacefully on March 10, 2000. Born on March 3, 1913 at Lions Gate Hospital in North Vancouver. Isabelle lived a happy and active life on the North Shore. She is predeceased by her husband of 45 years John (Jack) Crabb and by her twin sister May Dimmock. Isabelle is survived by her loving son Harley, daughter-in-law Alison, grandchildren Shaylene (whom she taught to knit), Tyson (whom she taught to play Gin Rummy) and Rayann (who had her luck). Belle is also survived by her caring sister Doreen and brother-in-law Doug Reinertson, her dear friend and sister-in-law Melba Crabb and many longtime friends and extended family. Belle always had a strong spirit and a matter-of-fact yet positive outlook, she would end many a discussion with"it's been a good life though, can't complain". She will be lovingly remembered by many. Memorial service will be held at the Salvation Army Church on 12th at Lonsdale in North Vancouver, at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 18, 2000. Tea following.

CONDO - Gina. Age 84 years. Died peacefully at home March 12, 2000 after a lengthy illness. Funeral to be held at St. John's Anglican Church, 220 West 8th, North Vancouver, Friday, March 17, at 1:30 p.m. Reception to follow at Park Royal Hotel, West Vancouver at 2:45 p.m.

WILLIAMS - James Edmond "Seagull" of North Vancouver. Passed away on March 10, 2000, age 58. Seagull was a proud member of the Squamish Nation. He will be sadly missed by his loving family, many relatives and dear friends. Prayers were offered on Sunday, March 12 at 7:30 p.m. at Squamish Nation Recreation Centre, Funeral Mass followed on Monday, March 13 at 10:30 a.m. at Squamish Nation Recreation Centre. GEARY - Terence George. Born November 23, 1932, London, England. Was called to be in the presence of our Lord, March 11, 2000. Will be deeply missed and forever remembered by his loving wife Anne, their children Kathryn (Lowell), John (Tracy), Lisa (Tom), Michael (Darlene), Megan (Nigel), and Noelle, and his fifteen beloved grandchildren. Survived by his younger brother Peter and his family. He will also be missed by many close relatives and friends. Prayer vigil will be held Thursday, March 16, 2000 at 7:00 p.m. at St Stephen's Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, March 17, 2000 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Save A Family Fund or Renewal Ministries. There is no death - though eyes grow dim, there is no fear, when I'm near to Him.

GIBBINS - John Michael. Beloved husband of Pauline, father of daughters Linda, Suzanne and grandchildren, April, Dylan, Colin and Ryan. Passed peacefully away Saturday morning, the 11th of March, 2000. He will be sadly missed by his family and many of his good friends in the community. It was Mike's wish to have a private family service at home. In lieu of flowers, donations would be gratefully received by the Heart and Lung Foundation.

JILLINGS - Bernice (Ackley). January 14, 1921, North Vancouver - March 10, 2000, Pitt Meadows. Service at Boal Chapel, 1505 Lillooet Road, North Vancouver, Wednesday, Mar. 17 2000 at 2:00 pm. Reception following. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association.

HAMILTON - Patricia Raine, formerly of Winnipeg, Manitoba. Born February 2, 1911. Passed away peacefully March 5, 2000 at Lions Gate Hospital, with her children "all in together" by her side. Predeceased by her husband Bob and brother Don King. Survived by her children Gaile Froese and Lynne Hamilton of North Vancouver, Patti Chapman and Bill Hamilton (Cathy) of Winnipeg, Manitoba, sister Marion Andrew of Saltspring Island and brother William King (Joan) of Carlsbad, California. "Granny" will be fondly remembered by her eight grandchildren, Stuart (Sharon), Kevin, and Ian Froese, Tim (Ratna), Russ, and Clifford Chapman, Beth and Peggy Hamilton. The family would like to give special thanks to the wonderful staff of the Margaret Fulton Adult Day Care Facility and N.S.H.S. companion Anita Ridd, as well as the nursing staff of Lions Gate Hospital and Dr. Peter Richards for their caring support. A private celebration of Pat's life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Margaret Fulton Adult Day Care Centre of North Vancouver.

HANLON, Eric Gerald. Born September 13, 1963, passed away suddenly March 3, 2000 in North Vancouver, B.C. Lovingly remembered by his mother Therese (Tessie), father Joseph Hanlon (deceased) step-father Stan McMillan, sisters Joanna, Elaine, brothers Hugh, Joey, Terrence (Trudy), Edward, Martin (Laurie), Bob (Laurie), Gerrard (deceased), girlfriend Rachel Wei Qing Zhang, several nephews and nieces and his many, many friends. Prayers at 7:30 p.m. March 13, and Funeral Mass March 14 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Edmunds Catholic Church, 6th &Mahon Ave. North Vancouver. Flowers are gratefully declined, rather a donation to Mozambique's flood victims, we think, would be Eric's preference. Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him.

PERRY, Adeline. Passed away suddenly March 7, 2000, aged 68 years. Survived by her loving family, three daughters, Marie Barton (Paul), Darlene Rodgers (Paul) and Cheryl Walks (Rob); beloved grandmother of Aimee, Tyler, Bailey, Chelsea, Brianna, Jackson, Makenna and Danielle; also one sister Elsie and many other relatives and friends. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, March 14 at 10:00 a.m. in the Boal Chapel, 1505 Lillooet Rd. North Vancouver. Flowers gratefully declined. PANCHYSHYN - David Michael. Passed away after a valiant struggle with cancer at Lions Gate Hospital on March 8, 2000 at the age of 37. David will be lovingly remembered by his companion Terri Gregor, mother Mary and stepfather Earle MacDonald, brother Dean (Coral), nieces Bryanna and April Mary, sister Kathy (Norman) Zulps, nieces Jessica and Claudia, and brother Dana, as well as his grandmother and other family members. He is predeceased by his father David Russell Panchyshyn in 1977. Many thanks to the doctors and staff at Lions Gate Palliative Care Unit. Funeral service will be celebrated at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 2725 Lonsdale Avenue on Tuesday, March 14, 2000 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or to Lions Gate Palliative Care would be greatly appreciated. NEISH, Angus. Passed away March 7, 2000 in North Vancouver, age 86. Predeceased by his wife Audrey. Survived by his children James R. Neish and Valerie McMurray, grandchildren David James (Heidi) McMurray and Michelle McMurray, great-grandchildren Gaelan James-McMurray and close friend Verna Dyke. A Memorial Tea will be held between 2:00 and 4:00 p.m. Sunday, March 19, 2000 at 2555 Whitely Court, Kiwanis Lynn Manor (penthouse) in North Vancouver. ALTON - Douglas Ernest. Passed away suddenly March 7, 2000 in North Vancouver. Born April 15, 1928 in Vancouver. He is predeceased by wife Patricia and son Danny. Survived by grandson Brandon Alton, sisters Adele Sykes and Patricia Barton, three nephews and one niece. Doug will be fondly remembered by his family and friends, especially Ruth and Jacqualene. Doug was a longtime employee of BC Tel and a prominent member of the Seymour Squadron of Canadian Power and Sail Squadrons. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 14, 2000 at Boal Chapel, 1505 Lillooet Road, North Vancouver. CHAPMAN, Isabel (nee Harrison). Born April 23, 1906. Died on Ash Wednesday, March 8, 2000. Her heart was filled with peace, love and gratitude to all who touched her life. It is her dearest wish that we remember her but do not mourn her passing; she has said repeatedly that she has had a wonderful, long and fulfilling life. She lived and died in absolute faith and trust in the love of Christ. Her family would like to thank her many wonderful friends who gave her so much joy and purpose for living after her beloved Frank died in 1973. She will be remembered and cherished by her loving family Eileen, Dominic, Alanna, Rebekah and Emmanuel, Kyle, Colin Craig, Paige, Lucas, Jaimie and Nicole. Her funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 11 at Valleyview Crematorium. In lieu of flowers please send a donation to the Salvation Army. Her life essence is epitomized in Elizabeth Olsen's poem. The heart is a well, As deep as the sky, Lower your bucket, It never runs dry. Dip in it freely, To meet all your needs, The sweet living water, Of good thoughts and deeds. The heart never empties, Day in or day out, It fills but the faster, The more you take out.

BRUCE, George Benjamin. Born May 14, 1914, North Vancouver, B.C. Passed away March 7, 2000 in North Vancouver. He will be lovingly remembered and missed by his extensive family and many friends. He worked for many years at Burrard Drydock. And was a long standing member of the Boilermakers Union and Army and Navy Unit #45. Memorial Service to be held at First Memorial Chapel 1505 Lillooet Rd, North Vancouver at 2:00 p.m., March 13, 2000. Reception to follow at Army and Navy Unit #45. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lions Gate Hospital Foundation, Evergreen House.
