Born February 6, 1917 in Calgary, Alberta passed away suddenly due to a tragic accident on April 17, 2003. Marcia was predeceased by her husband Charlie in 1991 and is lovingly remembered by her daughter Dot (Terry) Buckoll, her son Ron (Bernice) Coleman, grandchildren Erin, Teresa (Stan), Gary, Christine (Thomas) and Chad (Kim) as well as sisters Nona Slater and Loraine Burdett. In 1949, Marcie and her husband, Charlie, founded what was to become North Shore Plumbing and Heating Co. Ltd. Marcia was also one of the founding members of the North Shore Business and Professional Women's Club and sat on the boards of many local organizations. Marcie's community involvement continued throughout her life with the focus moving in recent years to various senior citizens' groups. Suddenly on April 13, 2003 at 83 years of age. Born in Arhus, Denmark. As a young man crewed on ships and travelled the world. Served in the Canadian Armed Forces and spent his career in the Forestry Industry. Survived by his long time companion Tina Zmaeff; 2 step-daughters Connie Noe (Paul) and Shive Marshall (Jim); four grandchildren, Jay (Kathie), Sandra (Michael), Teresa (Tam) and Roux-Anne (Stephan); six great-grandchildren, Danya, Takoda, Heather, Tyler, Sean, and Chaetonn. HATT - Kristine Rosalyn
Kristy was born May 21, 1985 in Chilliwack, B.C. passed away suddenly on February 22, 2004 in a tragic car accident. Kristy is survived by her parents, Richard and Karen Hatt, her brothers Jeremy and Ryan, her sister, as well as best friend Amy, her grandparents, John and Joyce Amundsen, Ida Hatt and great-grandmother, Myrtle Coleman. She will, also, be so sadly missed by Auntie Susan, Auntie Doris, Uncle Roland, Auntie Liz, Uncle Larry, Auntie Diane, and her precious cousins, Alicia, Nicola, Michelle, Laurissa, and Jasmine, her godparents Lindsay Harrison and Steve Reeves, as well as so many, many friends. She was predeceased by her grandfather, Walter Hatt and her great-grandmother, Kay Amundsen. Kristy, a 2003 Honor Roll graduate of Agassiz Secondary School, was traveling back to Kelowna, where she was studying nursing at OUC when she was taken from us. Kristy loved water and was a member of the Aggassiz-Harrison Aquanauts Swim Club for fourteen years, where she coached for two years and a member of the OUC rowing club. She worked as a lifeguard at the Chilliwack Landing Leisure Center and at the Ferny Coombe Pool in Agassiz. Kristy grew up on the family dairy farm in Agassiz and loved to be out in the barn with the animals and especially her dogs. She will be forever remembered for her shining smile and the way she lit up the room when she entered. Kristy was gentle, kind and loved by everyone she met. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 27th, at 1 P.M. at the Agassiz Secondary School Gym. REMPEL - Cornelius ("Cork")
Beloved husband, dad and grandfather, passed away peacefully at home into the arms of his Lord on Tuesday, February 24, 2004 after a courageous battle with multiple myeloma. He was born in Osborne, Manitoba on May 19, 1935 to John and Susanna Rempel. He moved to Chilliwack with his family as a youth. After growing up and working on the family farm, Cork went logging. After attending vocational school in Nanaimo, he began his career as an automotive electrician for Delisle Electric/Auto Marine Electric, where he worked for many years. During this time, he met and married Carol Voth (May 16, 1961). Cork then worked at Chilliwack Ready-Mix, Finning, Lineham Logging, Cheam Contracting, and most recently, Hope Ready-Mix as a heavy duty mechanic. ThrougHout his career, he was known for his integrity, and as an honest and conscientious worker. On the home front, Cork was continuously creating or recycling one project or another, from restoring motorcycles to lawnmowers to sawmills to manufacturing cement block forms to hand-made gifts for grandchildren to manual mole control. All projects were carried out with great determination, patience and pride. He is survived by his siblings, Henry (Kay), Helen Ottom (Joe), John (Elsie), Bill (Kay), Peter (Betty) and Jake (JoAnne); wife, soul mate and best friend Carol, sons Ramone (Laurie) and Todd (Karen), and grandchildren Linden and Braden, Cole and Carmen. Cork is predeceased by his father John (1976), mother Susanna (2001), brother, George (1975) for their loving and compassionate care over the past 18 months. Thanks also to Brenda from B.C. GAVIN - Howlan "Howlie" Joseph
Born February 12, 1960 in P.E.I., passed away on Friday, February 20, 2004. Howlie was raised in Tignish, P.E.I. and came to B.C. in his twenties. He is survived by his long-time partner Mary-Ann, his two sons, Hayden and Keagan, his mother, Mary, and eight siblings. Howlie was predeceased by his father Claude and two brothers. Howlie was known for his big heart. He will be remembered for his selflessness, his love of music and his seafood chowder, but the most important thing to him was to be the best father possible for his two beloved sons. His passing leaves a huge void in the lives of many people. Words cannot describe how much he will be missed.
