George Henry Binning

George Henry Binning passed away suddenly at home on April 10, 2002. George was predeceased by his loving wife Violet "Vi" in 1996 and she affectionately always call him Henry. He will be forever missed and lovingly remembered by his daughter Dayle (John) Mlinaritsch and son Graham, grandchild Krista (Victor) Lewington and great-grand-daughter Skylar, grandson Trevor and granddaughter Anna-Lisa. George was born in West Van-couver in 1917 and moved to Squamish in the 1930's where he worked in the logging industry for many years and then went on to work for the District of Squamish. George will be remembered as a compassionate, caring and thoughtful person who was devoted to his wife Vi for 52 years. His quiet thoughtful ways relayed a security to those close to him that couldn't be expressed in words. His family will remember his love for fishing, gardening and bowling and the devotion he showed as a husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Squamish Hospital Foundation. Squamish Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements

Cloutier - Louise Charlotte

Cloutier - Louise Charlotte born April 27, 1928, passed away peacefully at home on April 10, 2002. Predeceased by her only grandson David. Louise will be lovingly remembered by her family, husband Larry and children Loretta, Thomas (Marilyn), Angela (Bob) and Patricia (Alan). Louise also leaves her brother Leonard (Mildred), nieces, nephews, many relatives and friends. No service at her request. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hilltop House Support Society. William (Bill) Pilnasek Wright.

Passed away tragically March 18, 2003. He was 43 years old. I am sorry this took so long to thank all our friends and all of Bill’s friends and co-workers from the Squamish and Vancouver Terminals for their support and for coming to his memorial at the Elks Hall on March 25, 2003. We would also like to thank the wonderful ladies and gentlemen of the Elks Hall for doing a super job on such short notice. Bill, until we meet again, we will miss you so; you were a very special person. Shannon and Tony

Robert (Bob) Harold Cleaver

Suddenly On July 8, 2003 Robert (Bob) Harold Cleaver of Squamish, aged 83 years. He is lovingly remembered and will be forever missed by his wife, Viola, son Scot, daughter Gail (Jerry), granddaughter Jen, grandson Steven, brother Allan (Connie), nephew Mike (Carol), niece Kathy (Ron) and his many other relatives and dear friends. Funeral Service was held on Monday July 14, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. a the Squamish Funeral Chapel, 40440 Tantalus Road, Garibaldi Highlands, B.C. In memory of Bob donations may be made to the Squamish Health Care Foundation, 38140 Behrner Drive, Squamish, B.C., VON 3GO or to the B.C. Heart & Stroke Foundation.

Charles “Chuck” Doherty

Suddenly On October 16, 2003, Charles “Chuck” Doherty of Squamish aged 75 years. Born September 10, 1928 in Prince George, B.C.. Chuck is lovingly remembered and will be forever missed by his wife Margaret, "Marg", daughters Charlotte (Bob) Stuart, Donna (Gerry) Roose; sons Tim, Kevin (Katrina) - all of Squamish; daughter Margaret (Nick) Mansell of Whitehorse; his beloved grandchildren - Crystal, Ernie, Sara, Chris, Sabien, Tara, Keegan, Cameron, MacKenzie, Andrea, Liz, Steven; 6 great-grandchildren and by his loving sisters, nieces, nephews, their families and by his many dear friends. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2003 at 3:00 p.m. at the Squamish Funeral Chapel. Andrea Leah Lewis (nee Berikoff)

Andrea Leah Lewis (nee Berikoff), was born June 17, 1960 and died on October 14, 2003. Andrea is survived by her son Raymond Jr. and daughter Angel (Abdul ‘Carlos’), and her grandchildren Ianna and Darius. Andrea is also survived by her father John Berezowski and her sisters Jennifer Goode (Michael), Beverly Berezowski (Steve), Wendy Lewis and Tammy Berezowski (Jeff). A Memorial Prayer service was held at St. Paul’s Indian Catholic Church, 424 West Esplanade on Monday, October 20, 2003 at 7:30 p.m. A Memorial Funeral Service was held on Tuesday, October 21, 2003 at 10:30 a.m

Wittow - Verna May

It is with deepest sadness that we announce the passing of our loving wife, mother and grandmother, after a valiant struggle with cancer. Verna passed away on October 14, 2003 in Squamish with her family at her side. She leaves behind her loving husband Robert, son Robert (Angela), daughters Rhonda (Clayton), Paula (Raymond); 5 granddaughters and 1 grandson, also her 2 brothers, 1 sister and 10 nieces and nephews. Verna was born in Beaverlodge, Alberta on March 18, 1945. After finishing high school, she attended the University of Alberta where she received her teaching degree. She taught school in Hinton, Alberta; Kitimat, B.C. and Squamish, B.C.. In mid-life Verna changed careers and became a computer programmer and was employed at B.C. Rail for the last 15 years where she made many close friends. Verna was also a member of T.O.P.S.. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Canadian Cancer Society. The Wittow Family would like to express their deepest thanks and gratitude to the Community Home Care Workers, also to Dr. Guy Morum and to all the staff at Squamish General Hospital.

Duxbury, Janet

Peacefully on March 4, 2006, Janet Duxbury of Squamish, aged 95 years. Predeceased by her husband Arthur in 1986 and by her daughter Arlene in 2001. She is lovingly remembered and will be forever missed by her daughter Sheila (Ken) Field of Nanton, Alberta, son-in-law Carl Lofroth (Arlene) of Terrace B.C., 8 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and by her many dear friends. Private cremation arrangements entrusted to Squamish Funeral Chapel. At Janet’s request there will be no funeral services. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Salvation Army or to the charity of your choice

It is with great sadness we announce the death of our mother, born December 18, 1926. On October 17, 2002 at the age of 75 she passed away peacefully at Lions Gate Hospital in Vancouver, B.C. surrounded by her immediate family. Predeceased by her husband, Alphonse (Peter) in 1987, father William, brothers Les and William, Lessels leaves behind her mother, Eva Balbirnie of Lillooet, daughters Charlene (Peter) of Kelowna, Shirley (Allen) of Westbank, sons Norman (Pat) and Douglas (Cherie) of Pemberton, and 10 grandchildren: Amie, Jake, Simon, Cady, Hannah, Jeanette, Hailey, Mackenzie, Ashley and Nicole, along with many family members and friends. A "Celebration of Life" will be held at St. David's United Church in Pemberton at 1:00pm on Friday, Oct. 25. Interment at Pemberton Cemetery prior to Service at 11:00am. Donations in lieu of flowers, would be gratefully appreciated to : Canadian Diabetes Association or Heart & Stroke Foundation

Rilling - Alfred

Al Gottfried passed away May 23, 2002 in Squamish, B.C., after a brief illness, aged 81 years. He will be missed by his best friend and loving companion of 20 years Erna Rudolph, daughter Cheryl (Michael), son Flyn, sisters Dorothy, Rose and Annie of Saskatchewan and Alberta, step-children Detlef (Roseanna) and Uli Rudolph, 3 granddaughters, 3 great-grand-daughters, one great-grandson and many nieces and nephews. Al was well known in dancing circles in Vancouver. Memorial service were held Wednesday, June 5 at 1:00 p.m. at the Squamish Funeral Chapel, 40440 Tantalus Road, Garibaldi Highlands. In memory of Al, donations may be made to the charity of your choice

David Herbert Nelson

Passed away peacefully in St. Mary's Hospital, Sechelt, B.C., on Saturday, August 17, 2002. Born in Winnipeg, Mr. Nelson moved to Roberts Creek from Victoria in 1997 and was 90 years of age. He is survived by his wife Linda; two daughters Dorothea and Gwen; two sons David and Bill; as well as numerous grand and great-grandchildren. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the entire staff at St. Mary's Hospital for the kind care and attention during his illness. Flowers are gratefully declined. Norman John Dew, late of Gibsons, passed away peacefully at home on August 14, 2002 surrounded by his family, age 73 years. Survived by his mother Winifred; his wife Thelma "Teddy"; two daughters Kathy (Bill) and Sandra; one son Larry (Diane); three stepchildren Gina (Dennis), Lori (Frank) and Bill (Colleen); numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Predeceased by a son Kenneth and a sister Ethel. Funeral service was held Wednesday, August 21 at 4:00 p.m. in the chapel of Devlin Funeral Home, Gibsons. Rev. Sheila Flynn officiating. Passed away at V.G.H. on August 12, 2002. She will be missed by daughters Teddie Pasut and Irene Donlon; grandchildren Laura and Robert Pasut; their spouses and great- granddaughter Kira. Interment and graveside service will be at Seaview Cemetery on Wednesday August 28 at 1 pm

William Ronald Rosser

William Ronald Rosser, born in Ottawa, Ont. Nov. 14, 1937. Passed away after a courageous battle with cancer, Dec. 26, 2002, at his brothers home in Kelowna, B.C. Much loved son of A. Norman Rosser (deceased 1993) and Velda A. Rosser. Sadly missed by his loving and devoted wife Rosemarie, children; Lynne Marie (David), Ronnie (Sherry), Ronda (Jamie), Rick (Brenda), Myles (Sherry) and 14 grandchildren. Also survived by brother Alan (Jackie), sisters; Anita (Lorne), Hazel (Phil), Patricia. Always in our heart. A family gathering was held to celebrate Ron's life at his brother's home in Kelowna on Dec. 28. In Ron's memory donations to the Canadian Cancer Society-Research, 565 W. 10th Ave., Vancouver, B.C., V5Z 4J4 , would be greatly appreciated
