Peterson, Gail
Gail Margaret Peterson (nee Garland) passed away in Red Deer, AB on December 17, 2009.
Gail was born in Calgary, AB to parents Jack and Loretta Garland. She had an older sister, Mary and a younger brother, Ted. She worked for the Government of the Northwest Territories in Yellowknife for many years and retired to Red Deer, AB in 2000. Gail was married to her husband Len Peterson for 43 years. Gail was involved in the theatrical community for many years in Yellowknife, NT and appeared in a number of musicals and dinner theatres. She was an associate member of the Legion. Gail loved vacationing with her family, spending time in Riondel, BC and strolling the shores of the Kootenay Lake.
Gail was predeceased by her parents Jack and Loretta Garland. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband Leonard Peterson, children son Don, step-daughter Lora, son Jeff (Dawn) and daughter Kerri (Ali), grandchildren Breanna, Michelle, Brad; Kayla, and Quinn as well as many nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass was held on Thursday December 31, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Holy Cross Catholic Church with Father Francis dela Cruz celebrant. Interment followed at the Forest Lawn Cemetery, Erickson, BC.

Ivanisko, Suzie
Suzie Ivanisko (nee Turlik) passed away peacefully on Sunday December 27 , 2009 at the Columbia View Lodge, Trail, BC at the age of 95 years.
Suzie was predeceased by her beloved husband Michael Ivanisko in 2003. Loving mother of Mary Anne (Provino) Serafini of Unity, SK, Jean (Ronald) Yzerman of Nepean, ON and Shirley (Romeo) Berdusco of Trail, BC. Survived by her brother Joseph Turlik of Creston, BC, Suzie (Baba) will be fondly remembered by her eleven grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.
A Funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday January 5, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Creston, BC with Father Francis dela Cruz officiating. Interment to follow at the Forest Lawn Cemetery, Erickson, BC.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to Columbia View Lodge, 2920 Laburnum Drive, Trail BC, V1R 4N2 would be appreciated by the family.
Anderson, Lloyd
Lloyd Anderson passed away on December 16, 2009 in Creston, BC at the age of 87 years.
Lloyd was born on June 11, 1922 in Esmond, North Dakota to parents Thea and Alfred Anderson. In 1929, the family moved to the Meadow Lake area in Saskatchewan where Lloyd finished his education. The family operated a sawmill for many years, employing all the family members. They moved to Camrose, AB for a while. Then in 1946, several of the family members moved to Wynndel, BC. Lloyd was then employed in logging and construction. In 1947, he met and married Margaret, the girl he spent the next 62 years with. Lloyd was a member of the Elks and Rotocrest. He enjoyed square dancing, camping, fishing golfing and playing cards.
Lloyd was predeceased by his brothers Johnny, Carl, Fred, Bert and Helmer, sisters Agnes, Mildred and Mabel, as well as parents Thea and Alfred. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Margaret, sons Lyle, Bruce (AnaLee) Anderson, Don (Joanne) Anderson, eleven grandchildren, and eleven great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life Service was held on Tuesday December 22, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the G.F. Oliver Funeral Chapel with Pastor Harry Haberstock officiating. Private Family Entombment of Ashes to take place at a later date in the Abbey Columbarium in the Forest Lawn Cemetery, Erickson, BC.

Rejman, Rose
Rosie Rejman (nee Cerny) passed away peacefully on December 14, 2009 at the Swan Valley Lodge at the age of 91 years.
Rose was born in Frank, AB on March 30, 1918 to parents Frank & Anna Cerny. She married the love of her life Frank Rejman on May 15, 1937 in Coleman, AB and moved to Creston with their family in 1954. Rose was a member and past president of the West Creston Hall Association, a member of the West Creston Ladies Club and known for her wonderful meals for large gatherings of family and friends. In her younger years, Rose loved playing fastball as a pitcher.
Rose was predeceased by her husband Frank Rejman in January of 2003, parents Frank & Anna Cerny, brothers Stanley and Vince, nephew Stanley, four brother-in-laws and two sister-in-laws.
She will be dearly missed by her son George (Louise) Rejman, granddaughters Starla, Lesa (Tim) Baulkham, grandson Steven (Mel) Rejman, daughter Faye (Louis) Mizera, granddaughter Debbie (Paul) Meekes, grandsons Darrell (Kim), Dean (Lynn), Derrick (Carrie), son Dennis (Irene) Rejman, grandson Christopher, granddaughter Michelle, daughter Ardell (Neil) Brown, sister-in-law Emily Rayman, thirteen great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service was held on Monday December 21, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Holy Cross Catholic Church with Father Francis dela Cruz celebrant. Interment of Ashes followed the service at the Forest Lawn Cemetery, Erickson, BC.

Lee, Charles
Charles Henry Lee passed away suddenly on December 10, 2009 at the age of 87 years.
He was born on January 23, 1922 in Liverpool, England.
Charles was predeceased by his parents Sarah and Fredrick.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Patricia, four children Helen (Randy) Thompson, Barry (Wendy), Wayne (Linda) and Mark (Wendy), grandchildren Cathy, Crystal, Rebekka, Michael, Andrew, Justin, Brandi, Matthew and Tyson, and great grandchild Chase.
A Private Family Service was held on Wednesday December 16, 2009 at the G. F. Oliver Funeral Chapel.

Hurford, Evelyn
Evelyn Hurford passed away October 29, 2009 in the Creston Valley Hospital at the age of 81 years.
She was born November 10, 1927 in Comox, BC to parents John and Mary Beaton. She attended Tsolum School on Vancouver Island. After school, Evelyn worked for a short time at a shoe store and a grocery store before marrying the love of her life, Herbert Allan Hurford on June 26, 1946. They were married for over 63 years.
Evelyn was an avid reader, was famous for her cooking and enjoyed working in her yard raising beautiful gladiolas with Herb. She and Herb also had many happy trips to Yuma, Arizona and Vancouver Island in their fifth wheel. Evelyn’s greatest joy in her life was her husband Herb, sons and grandchildren.
She was a member of the CWL in Courtenay and in Creston, was a member of the bowling league and curling club. She also loved playing bridge on Wednesdays.
Evelyn will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Herbert Hurford; four sons: Alan (Louise), David (Patty), Dan (Rose) and Jim; two sisters: Margaret (Ken) Mulholland and Pat (Fred) Barker; 13 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
The Prayer Service was held at the Holy Cross Church in Creston on Wednesday, November 4, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass was held Thursday, November 5, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. Interment followed at the Forest Lawn Cemetery, Erickson, BC.

Kirkendall, Helena
It is with deep remorse that the family announces the sudden passing of Helena Kirkendall (nee Friesen) after a short battle with cancer on October 24, 2009 at the age of 75 years.
She was born Helena Friesen in Richer MB, the eldest child of Henry and Agatha Friesen. Moved to Renata, BC 1936, married Mert Kirkendall in 1951. They lived in Salmo, Proctor, Harrop and Erickson during their 53 years together. After moving to Erickson in 1978 she worked at the Creston Valley Hospital for many years. During that time she developed a passion for dancing through which she made many wonderful friends. One of her favourite hobbies was designing and making dance costumes.
She was predeceased by daughter Karen Kirkendall and husband Mert Kirkendall. Recently she was predeceased by her best friend and dancing partner Roy Larson of Moyie Spring, Idaho and is survived by his family.
She will be lovingly remembered by her sons: Ken (Gail) Kirkendall, Miles (Chris) Kirkendall, Floyd (Darlene) Kirkendall; daughters, Vickie Walker, Valerie (Keith) Joy; numerous Grand Children and Great Grand Children; sisters: Noreen Gray, Vi Fitchett, Lee Jarchow; sister-in-law: Hazel Phelps.
A Celebration of Life Service was held on Saturday October 31, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at the G.F. Oliver Funeral Chapel with Pastor Jeff Friesen officiating.

Krainc, Josef
Josef Krainc passed away after a lengthy illness on December 4, 2009 in Creston, BC.
Josef was born on December 15, 1933 in Radmirje, Slovenia to parents Joseph and Antonia. He received an education in Maribor, Slovenia at an Industrial school.
He came to Canada from Slovenia in 1953 as an adventurous teenager. He met his wife to be in 1956 and built a life and family together from 1957 on.
Josef was a Jehovah’s Witness and also enjoyed gold panning, gardening, tending his fruit trees, hiking and fishing among many other activities.
Josef was predeceased by his father Joseph, mother Antonia and infant brother Frank.
He will be dearly missed by his loving wife Audrey, children Mike (Diane), Linda (Merlin) and Frank (Carrie), brothers Zdravko and Milan, sister Rosa and grandson Jesse.
