Beautiful, brilliant, and beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, friend, and woman of mystery.
Our mother, Thelma Ross has passed on to the next phase of her journey. She was loved beyond measure and we are grateful for all the gifts she gave us.
Thelma is survived by her children, Steven (Denise), Lesley (Donald), Tommy (Heather), Peggy (Wayne) and Mary Kate. Her grandchildren, Stephanie, Carey Ann, Evan, Celeste, Darrell, Chris, Autumn, Rachel and Eric, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews and dear friend and fellow mystery & horseracing fan, Glennis.
A private family gathering will be held at a later date. If you wish to remember Thelma, please consider registering as an organ donor. Donations to the Lung Association are also welcome.

David passed away after a short battle with cancer. Predeceased by his father, Frank and his brother, Paul. David was a great man who was loved and respected by many, both as an educator in Toronto and a businessman on Vancouver Island. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him, especially by his wife of 48 years, Colleen; his children, Brett (Barb), Glenn(Jan)
Diana(Eddy), and Sean(Dayle); his mother, Marjorie; his brother, Kevin; his grandchildren, Megan, Michael, Aidan, Kevin, and Keira; and his devoted companion, Burleigh.

Predeceased by her loving husband Wallace Vancoughnett February 18, 1989 and her daughters Barbara Medwedrich, and Beverly Newell; one brother Nelson Crowder, three sisters Isabelle, Viola, and Ida. Survived by three daughters Alvena Smith, Judy Davis and Betty Cole, three sons Doug, Ivan and Jimmy, numerous Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. Flowers gratefully declined, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation. A graveside service was held at the Sooke Harbour Cemetery on Tuesday, October 30, 2007.

Stella died peacefully in the care of Eagles Bluff Lodge on October 9. She was predeceased by husband Fred, son Bob, and granddaughter Alexis. She leaves to remember son Dan and Family; daughter Gail (Gordon) Hall and family; daughter-in-law Norma and family; eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Stella enjoyed a long life of good health, friends and family. She treasured her years teaching her students at Sooke Elementary and Edward Milne.
At Stella's request there will be no service. In her memory remember the good times, hug your kids and help them with their homework.

It is with great sadness that we announce the loss of our loving father, grandfather, brother & good friend. On the evening of Wednesday, October 3, 2007 his children held his hand and said good-bye as he passed peacefully at the Alert Bay Hospital. As a child, Hector was continuously moved from town to town, with his parents as officers of the Salvation Army. As an adult, "Hec" finally settled in 1957 in the small village of Alert Bay, British Columbia & enjoyed every aspect of this wonderful community that he made his home. He was a taxi driver, butcher, and fisherman but moreover, "Hec" was everyone's friend. Hector is survived and dearly missed by his son (Casey), daughters (Deanna), & (Karen), and his grandchildren (Shawndra), (Drake), (Skylar), (Tabitha), (Harley), (Lexi), (Carole), & (Emma). He will be sadly missed by his brothers (Gord), & (Les), & sister (Dot). Hector was predeceased by his father ( Harold) & mother (Dorothy) & very good friend (Gilbert Popovich).
A "Celebration of Life" will be held at the Alert Bay Legion on Sunday, October 28, 2007 @ 1pm

We are sad to announce the death of Jack Crook on July 9, 2007 just two weeks after his 89th birthday. He was predeceased by his sister Audrey and brother Ted. This past March he lost his wife of 62 years, Muriel (Mounce). Jack is survived by his two sisters Betty and June, and three daughters and husbands, Lyn and Syd, Joanne and John, Barbara and Bill. He has five grandchildren, Michelle, Shawn, Joe, Darci and Patrick; 2 great grandchildren Alex and Isabella. Our family would like to thank the men and women of VGH Dialysis Unit who gave Jack more than two years of life to enjoy. We will miss his ever positive outlook and great sense of humour.
Memorial service will be held at Forest Lawn Funeral Chapel, Saturday July 21 at 2:00 pm with reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jack’s Memory to Renal Development Fund, VGH Foundation Office, 855 W. 12th Ave. Vancouver, BC V5Z 1M9.

It Is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our son, brother, uncle, & friend, in Victoria B.C. He is survived by his mother, Mary Martens, (Kamloops), brothers Ken (Linda), Richmond, Karl (Edmonton), Kevin (Diana), Kamloops, Kerry (Joanne) Vancouver & sister Karen Elder (David), Kamloops, his grandmother Helen Reimer (Vernon) & many uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews & a niece throughout Canada. Preceded by his father Bill Martens, Dec. 1978 and grandparents Fred & Ruth Thrussell, & grandpa Peter Reimer.
Keith enjoyed life; from his early years performing music in front of friends & family, to renovating houses. He moved to Victoria & became a passionate gardener & handyman. His real gift was always helping others before himself. His warm and loving heart and his kindness to others will be sadly missed by all who know him.
A celebration of his life will be held in Kamloops on August 5th, 2007 at 2 o'clock at Paul Lake picnic site across from the Bluff.
