DESROCHERS, Noel Charles Saturday, 19 Apr 2008
Langley, BC
December 25, 1945 - April 19, 2008
Tragically taken April 19, 2008. Noel was born in Vancouver and lived his entire life in the lower mainland. Noel worked as an ironworker for more than 40 years and traveled to many parts of the world with his job. He took great pride in his work and was much admired for both the quality of his work, as well as his strong work ethic. Noel loved cars from the time he was a young teenager at Killarney High School where he was a member of the Shifters Car Club. His shop at home was a gathering place for friends & fellow car fanatics, Lew, George, Dave, Johnny, Dennis and Ken, as well as his sons Darren and Ryan and their buddies. Noel was a Ford man, and once spring came around, he could be found out in the shop until all hours building his blue, 79 Ford Fairmont wagon which was the envy of many at the car shows he attended, as well as at Mission raceway. Many of Noel's most pleasurable moments were spent fishing with his children, and summers at Deep Bay. He had a terrific sense of humour; his c.b. handle when he was out fishing was "The Brain Surgeon." Noel loved coffee, homemade sweets, and teasing anyone he could with that twinkle in his eye as he waited for your reaction. His quiet loyalty, strength and love will be greatly missed by many family and friends. He is survived by his loving family Kathy, Lisa, Ryan and Darren, mother Dorothy, brothers Ed, Bob (Donna), Richard, sisters Cecilia and Lorraine, nieces and nephews, Jeff, Angie, Thea, Alanna, Sharleen, Devlin, Natalie, Aaron, as well as his loyal dog, Roxy. A Celebration Car Cruise will be planned for late spring.
A service for Noel will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, April 28th, at Henderson's Funeral Home, Langley. In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of your choice are appreciated.
