GEORGE R. WIEBE
Peacefully, Monday, Jan. 23, 2006, at the Maplewood Manor, our beloved father, George Wiebe of Ste. Anne, Man. passed into his eternal rest at the age of 95 years. He was born Aug. 9, 1910.
Those left to mourn his passing are: five daughters, Marina Rempel of Rosenort, Man., Emily (Vernon) Dueck of Ste. Anne, Bernice (Bernie) Isaac of Rosenort, Rose (Ron) Giesbrecht of Ste. Anne, Lorna (Jerome) Koehn of Swan River, Man.; two sons, Rennie (Eileen) of Ste. Anne, Harry (Zelma) of Centreville, N.B.; 43 grandchildren and their spouses, and 94 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by twin sisters, Agnes Penner and Caroline Giesbrecht, as well as two sisters-in-law, Lottie Wiebe and Linda Wiebe.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife Lillie in 1995; parents, Jacob T. and Anna Wiebe; five brothers: Peter, Henry, Isaac, Aaron and Ben; five sisters: Margaret Goossen, Anna Goossen, Mary Goossen, Catherine Warkentin and Elizabeth Thiessen.
Viewing will be held at the Church of God in Christ, Greenland, Man., Thursday, Jan. 26 at 7 p.m., and at the church prior to the service. The funeral service will be held Friday, Jan. 27 at 2 p.m., also at the church. Interment at the church cemetery.

MARIA REIMER
Maria Reimer, age 67, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2006 at St. Boniface Hospital after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Maria Friesen was born Nov. 22, 1938 in Steinbach, Man., to Peter K. and Helena (Kehler) Friesen. She was married to John H. Reimer on April 2, 1967.
Besides her husband, she leaves behind two daughters, Velda Mae (Marlyn) Menz, Wimbledon, North Dakota, and Lavina Reimer and fiancé Chad Calder, Winnipeg, Man.; one brother, Abe (Mitzi) Friesen, Winnipeg; one sister, Henrietta Friesen, Steinbach; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents; and one sister, Helena, in infancy.
Funeral service was held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2006 at the Worldwide Church of God, 50 Barnes St., Winnipeg. Viewing took place Monday, Jan. 30, 2006 from 7 to 8 p.m., at Friends Funeral Service, 2146 Main St., Winnipeg.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hands of Hope, 50 Barnes St., Winnipeg, Man., R3T 4Z7.

JOHN SIRMAN
John Sirman, age 79 years, of 701 Atwood Ave., Rainy River, Ont., passed away Thursday, March 2, 2006 at the Rainy River Hospital in Rainy River, Ont.
John was born May 15, 1926 in Vita, Man. to the late Olexsa and Aksena Sirman. John was dedicated to his family, the church and the community. Father of nine children, five boys and four girls, he guided their lives by leading and demonstrating honesty and commitment. He was one of the founders of St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church in 1950, and he continued to lead the small congregation until his passing. John was a CNR employee, retiring as an Engineer in 1984 with 38 years of service. His 62 years of commitment to the Rainy River Community can be seen through his leadership and participation in the following: 38 years on the Recreation Board, life member of the Kinsmen Club of Rainy River, Board of Directors of the Credit Union, member of the Legion, approximately 20 years with the School Board, Lions Club member and Moose Club member. In appreciation and recognition of his efforts the highest honor that can be bestowed to a Kinsman, he was made a life member. He was awarded "Kinsman of the Year" in 1966, awarded certificate of recognition from the Ontario Ministry of Culture and Community in 1994, recipient of the Bi-Centennial Medal in 1984, given the Melvin Jones Fellow Award from the Lions Club in 1995, founding member of the Railroad Museum, and the list goes on.
He was predeceased by two children, Nancy and Nicholas Sirman in infancy; three brothers, Bill, Peter and Fred Sirman; and two sisters, Anne Kolisnyk and Irene Lalois.
John is survived by his wife, Olga Sirman of Rainy River, Ont.; seven children, Ivan Sirman and wife Betty-Ann of Brooklyn, Ont., Dennis Sirman and wife Helen of Ottawa, Ont., Michael Sirman of Calgary, Alta., Christina Sirman of Winnipeg, Man., Arlene Sirman of Edmonton, Alta., Darlene and husband Jim Hamnett of Edmonton Alta., and John Sirman and Lorinna Fisher of Thunder Bay, Ont.; 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one brother, Andy Sirman and wife Keitha of Rainy River, Ont., two sisters, Bella Watson of Houston, Texas and Nancy and husband Don Wade of Houston, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Monday, March 6, 2006, 11 a.m., at Our Lady of Good Counsel Roman Catholic Church in Rainy River, Ont., with The Very Reverend Canon Father Daren Gallivan officiating. Family and friends visited from 6 p.m. Saturday, March 4, 2006 to 9 p.m. Sunday, March 5, 2006 at the St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church on Eighth St. in Rainy River, Ont.
The active pallbearers were Marcus Sirman, Nicholas Sirman, Aaron Sirman, Gregory Sirman, Ryan Sirman and Tyler Sirman. The honourary pallbearers were Bobbie-Jo Sirman-Silva, Katherine Sirman, Kayla Sirman and Tara Sirman.

Ben Martens of Grunthal, Man., formerly of Winnipeg, Man., was born Sept. 28, 1928. It is with saddened hearts that we announce the passing of our father, grandfather, great-grandfather and husband, Tuesday, March 7, 2006.
Left to mourn are his wife Mary, who so diligently took care of him during his long and difficult fight with cancer; his children, Vivian (Mark) Hinther, Harvey (Linda) and Gary (Doris); and grandchildren, Desiree, Damara, Christy and Carl, Denise, Elisa, Kyla and Dusten, Breanne, Randy and Jen, Terry, Kyle, Darren; and two great-grandchildren, Aaron and Alaura. Ben is also survived by three sisters and one brother, three sisters-in-law and two brothers-in-law. He was predeceased by four brothers and three sisters.
Ben loved his family including grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He enjoyed fellowship with his many friends and music was a great part of Ben's life.
Devotional will be held Sunday, March 12, 3 p.m., at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, Man. Interment Monday, March 13, 10:30 a.m., at Grunthal Cemetery, with a memorial service to follow at 3 p.m. at Bethel Mennonite Church, 870 Carter, Winnipeg.

LIONEL CHARLES LEPINE, age 59
It is with great sadness that on March 4, 2006 Lionel Charles LePine, age 59, beloved husband, father and grandfather, died suddenly.
Lionel is survived by his loving and devoted wife Freda; his daughters, Joanne (Reece) and Julie; granddaughter Ashley; stepchildren, Brian, Mike and Jacquie (Andy); brothers, Lucien and John; sisters, Annette, Blanche, Lorette, Florette and Dolores.
He was predeceased by his mother (Agnes) and father (Hyicenth); and brothers, Gorge and Jules.
Lionel was born July 23, 1946 and raised in Marchand, Man., till his work in construction led him up north, where he resided.
Viewing will be held Thursday, March 9 in Wabowden, Man. Funeral services will also be held in Wabowden Friday, March 10.

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Peter F. Eidse of Steinbach, Man., March 12, 2006.
He will sadly missed and lovingly remembered by one daughter, Alice (Bert) Kroeker of Caronport, SK; one son, Stan Eidse of Montreal, PQ; three grandsons, Jeremy Kroeker of Calgary, AB, Stuart Kroeker of Dryden, ON, Brendan Eidse of Montreal, PQ; and one great-grandson, Austyn Kroeker of Dryden, ON; five brothers, John (Susan), Nick (Mary), Dave, Ben (Helen) and Frank (Betty); three sisters, Elizabeth (Ben) Siemens, Violet (Eddie) Brandt and Myrtle (Paul) Brandt; four sisters-in-law, Elma Eidse, Annie Eidse, Katherine Rieger, Nora Rieger; one brother-in-law, Jac Siemens; as well as eight step sons and daughters and their families.
Dad was predeceased by his parents, David K. and Elizabeth (Friesen) Eidse; his first wife, Minna (Rieger) in 1981; and his second wife, Catherina (Rempel) in 1999; four sisters, two brothers, and five siblings in infancy.
Dad was born Feb. 22, 1916 in his parents' home during a big snowstorm. He was the firstborn, with 18 births to follow, 13 of whom grew to adulthood. A foster daughter also joined this large family. Lots of action was the daily norm and formed the basis for his interest in others and his outgoing personality.
Dad's security was in his heavenly father and the salvation he's received for eternal life. We will forever cherish the memory of our Dad.
Viewing was held at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Wednesday, March 15, 2006 at 7 p.m., with a devotional at 7:30 p.m. The funeral service will be held Thursday, March 16, 2 p.m., at Cornerstone Bible Church, 290 First St., Steinbach, Man., followed by interment at Memorial Cemetery.

Jacob D. Giesbrecht of Steinbach, Man. passed away at Bethesda Hospital, Saturday, March 11, 2006, at the age of 95 years.
He is survived by five daughters, Maria (Henry) Krahn of South America, Lena of Steinbach, Eva (Bill) Hiebert of Blumenort, Man., Hanna of Steinbach, and Anita (Tim) Auch of Steinbach; 10 sons, John (Tina) of Steinbach, Jake (Trudy) of B.C., Erdman (Erna) of Steinbach, Abe (Nella) of Winnipeg, Man., Ben of B.C., Bill (Linda) of Alberta, Rey of Winnipeg, Edward (Aline) of Winnipeg, Albert (Andrea) of Bird's Hill and Fred (Illene) of Winnipeg; 40 grandchildren; 62 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; his sister, Helena Harder in South America. He was predeceased by his wife Helena in 1991, and one daughter.

SALLY PETRYK
It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our mother, wife, Baba, sister, aunt and friend, Sally Petryk (nee Bezditny), after a courageous battle with illness, Thursday, March 9, 2006 at Steinbach Bethesda Hospital at the age of 59 years.
Sally was predeceased by her father, John Bezditny; sister-in-law Florence Bezditny; nephew Nathan Bezditny; two brothers-in-law, Don Doyle and Bob Marsh.
Mom was born June 11, 1946 in the Municipality of Hanover, Man., and grew up in Pansy, Man. She was a very cheerful person and always enjoyed company and entertaining, cooking, dancing, sewing, cross-stitching and gardening. Sally was an independent person who loved to help other people with anything possible. She was a wonderful cook and baker and especially loved to bake cinnamon buns (we'll miss them; they were always "the best").
Sally's passion was her family. She enjoyed spending time with her two grandchildren, Natasha and Michael.
She spent most of her life caring for elderly people as a nurse's aide.
Mom will be lovingly remembered by her husband Leonard; son Dwayne with wife Luba; two grandchildren, Natasha and Michael; her mom, Alice Bezditny; her brothers and sisters with their families: Eddie Bezditny, Billy Bezditny, Olivia Marsh, Peter Bezditny, Irene Doyle, Phillis Martens, Ernie Bezditny and Edith Bezditny; as well as numerous nephews and nieces.
The family would like to thank the staff at Bethesda Hospital for the gentle and loving care given to Mom. Special thank you to family and friends who have supported us during this difficult time. God bless you all.
The funeral service was held Tuesday, March 14 at St. Michael's Ukrainian Catholic Church, Sarto, Man., with interment at the parish cemetery. Officiating priest was Rev. Fr. Gregory Zubacz, assisted by Rev. Deacon Leon Twerdun. The pallbearers were Joshua Doyle, Jason Martens, Matthew Doyle, Ashton Martens, Kristin Bezditny and Greg Zemla.

RAYNOLD FRIESEN
Raynold Friesen of Steinbach, Man. passed away at Bethesda Hospital, Sunday, March 12, 2006 at the age of 27. He was born Dec. 16, 1978.
Raynold's lifelong battle with epilepsy never stopped him from laughing and enjoying the time that he had on this earth. He lived for pranks and jokes and loved to collect minor things. Even though they were no big things, to him they were very important. Semi-trucks have always been very important to Raynold; this has come from his dad's truck driving career. Raynold attended the Martha P. Rempel Development Centre and has made many friends there. He will be sadly missed by all his family, friends and staff.
Raynold is survived by his parents, John and Helen; siblings, Jack, Jim, Marina (James), Joey; niece Tettianna; and nephews, Brandon and Ashton. He was predeceased by his grandfathers, Peter N. Friesen and Jacob F. Doerksen, and one brother at birth.
A special thank you goes out to all those who have taken the time to make Raynold's life fun and memorable.

Tuesday, March 14, 2006 at 2:40 p.m., Frank Harder, aged 74, of Steinbach, Man., formerly of Kleefeld, Man., passed away peacefully with his family at his side at Bethesda Hospital.
Left to mourn are his wife Mary, who so diligently cared for him during his three-year battle with cancer; his children, George (Anne), Henry (Marlene), Alvina (Richard) Dyck, Sue Harder, Fran (Darryl) Harder, Leona (Roland) Szyska; 17 grandchildren; two brothers; and one sister. He was predeceased by his parents, Abram and Elizabeth Harder; daughter-in-law Sandra Harder; three brothers; three sisters; and four brothers-in-law.
Viewing will be held at the Sommerfeld Mennonite Church, New Bothwell, Man., Friday, March 17 at 7 p.m., with devotional at 7:30 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the Sommerfeld Mennonite Church, New Bothwell, Saturday, March 18 at 10:30 a.m.

RENÉ EDOUARD BEAUDETTE
March 9, 2006, René passed away peacefully at the age of 72 with his family at his side.
He will be sadly missed by his wife of 42 1/2 years, Stella (nee Dumontier); his children and grandchildren: Doris (Stan) Chwist, Tamara, Anastasia, and Christophe, Gisèle (Michel) Alarie, Candace and Kenneth, Nicole (Andy Mendel), Randy and Nadine, Chantal (Joe) Hofer, Danika, Chandra, Jennifer, and Mehgan. He is survived by his brother Lucien; his sisters, Claire Bouchard, Carmelle (Alcide) Collette, Angéline St. Godard, and Yvonne (Raymond) Labossière. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Annette Dumontier; his brothers-and-sisters-in-law, Blanche Beaudette, Estelle Beaudette, Roland Marion, Marie Léa Ross, Albert (Renée) Dumontier, Irène Bruneau, Estelle (Andre) Lecocq, Raymond (Dolorès) Dumontier, Carmelle Dumontier, Richard Vermette, Claude (Denise) Dumontier, Harvey (Karie) Dumontier. As well, he is remembered by numerous nephews, nieces, and friends, including the Jacksons from Powell River, B.C.
René was predeceased by his parents, Jos and Marie-Anne; his sister Alice; his brothers, Alphonse, Léonide, and Olivier; and a grandson, Rossel.
René lived his life to the fullest. He started farming at an early age and followed his father's footsteps. He took an active part in the Agricultural Society, the Farmer's Union and various community services. He was an active curler and followed many hockey games. He enjoyed snowmobiling, camping, and traveling. He was a great husband, generous father, and a super grandfather.
We love him very much and we will remember him always.
We would like to give special thanks to the Health Sciences Centre and the Morris General Hospital staffs for their excellent care of René and their great support to the whole family. We thank everyone for the food, prayers and support to our family during the past seven weeks.
The funeral mass was celebrated at the St. Jean Baptiste Roman Catholic Church, Tuesday, March 14. Cremation and funeral arrangements were in the care of Morris Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Palliative Care Unit in Morris or a charity of your choice.
