RICHARD “DICK” KLASSEN
On Friday Aug. 19, 2011 unexpectedly our husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather went to be with Jesus.
Dick was born May 23, 1933 in Gouldtown, SK. After a year in Paraguay from 1948-1949 his family settled in Tisdale, SK. This is where he met his wife Martha Krahn whom he married July 1, 1950. He is predeceased by one sister Lydia, son Randy and both parents Diedrich and Helen.
A Memorial service was held at Birchwood Funeral Chapel in Steinbach on Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at 10:00 a.m.

ADINA PENNER
On Saturday, August 20, 2011, Adina Penner passed away peacefully to be with her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
Adina is survived by her sister Elma (Rollin) Reimer; brothers Milton Penner, Gil (Heather) Penner; brother in law John (Ruth)Barkman; and many nieces and nephews. Adina was predeceased by her parents Peter K and Elizabeth Penner; sisters Martha Rempel and Joanne Barkman; sister-in-law Marlene Penner; brother-in-law Edmar Rempel; niece Beverley Rempel.

LAWRENCE WILBERT GUENTHER
Lawrence passed away peacefully on Thursday, Aug. 18, 2011 at the age of 86 years after a short battle with cancer.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Edith of 61 years; five children, Gerald, Garth (Jeannine), Christine (Don) Gardiner, Elsa Krienke and Elaine (Brad) Waterman; 14 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren as well as his brothers Burt (Ruth) and Peter (Lottie), sisters-in-law Marlene and Thelma.
He was predeceased by his parents P.S. and Agnes (Wiebe) Guenther, his brothers Dennis and Ralph, and daughter-in-law Marge (Gamache) Guenther.
A memorial service was held at Airdrie United Church, 212 – 1 Avenue N.E., Airdrie, AB on Tuesday, Aug. 23 at 2 p.m.

AGNES FRIESEN
Aganetha (Agnes) Friesen, nee Braun, of Grunthal passed away at the DeSalaberry District Health Centre in St. Pierre on Thursday, August 18, 2011 at the age of 91.
She is survived by eight sisters, one brother, two sisters-in-law, and one brother-in-law. She was predeceased by her husband Henry G. Friesen.
The funeral service will be held Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel in Steinbach with viewing prior to the service. Interment at Grunthal Cemetery.

Lucas Janz, 28, of Vancouver, BC, formerly of Grunthal, MB passed away Sunday August 14, 2011 at Shoal Lake, Ontario. He is survived by his parents Leonard and Hermina Janz, girlfriend Yaara, two sisters, one brother and their families. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held Monday, August 22 at 2:00 pm. at the Elim Mennonite Church in Grunthal.

Jacob Rempel Ketler passed away peacefully on August 18th, 2011. He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife Connie (nee: Barkman); daughters Barb Isaak; Judy (Trevor) Proutt; Cindy (Brian) Smith; and seven grandchildren: Kerry Wall; Matthew, Carlin and Victoria Proutt; Caitlyn, Remington and Hunter Diamond. He is survived by his siblings Agnes Ketler, Henry (Doris) Ketler and Melinda Penner.
A celebration of Jac’s life was held at the Mennonite Brethren Church, 340 Second St. Steinbach, MB on Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. A private family interment took place at Memorial Cemetery.

Eileen Dyck (nee Unrau) of Swift Current, SK passed away early August 13, 2011 at the Cypress Regional Hospital.
Eileen is survived by her husband of 34 years, Bill; her daughter, Leslie and fiancé Kevin Hildebrand; her son Leon; her siblings Gordon (Laurie) Unrau, Nancy (Dan) Hildebrandt, Norman (Joanne) Unrau, Ed Unrau and sister-in-law Dorothy Derksen and numerous nieces and nephews.

August 12, 2011 David R. Loewen, 92, died peacefully with his family by his side. Dave was born in Steinbach on March 29, 1919 to Helena Ratzlaff and A.T. Loewen.
Dave married Elvina Toews on August 16, 1942 at the E.M.B. Church in Steinbach. Dave is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Elvina, and their children Russ (Marilyn) of Winnipeg, Wayne (Kathy) of Winnipeg, Sharon (Tom Prochnow) of Gilbert, Iowa; grandchildren and great grandchildren, Sara Prochnow Ojard (Nels), Evelyn, Thomas; David (Dawn) Prochnow, Noah; Jonathan (Emily) Prochnow, Owen; Shea Loewen; “grandchild” Carlisle (Leona) Wright, Daryn, Addison; his brothers, Bob (Mary), Glenn, Ray (Anne), LaVern (Marni), Waldy (Gloria), and sisters, Rachel (Johnny Reimer) and Matilda (Irvin Friesen), and numerous nieces and nephews.
The Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, August 16th at 11:00 a.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel in Steinbach, MB. Interment at Heritage Cemetery, Steinbach.

His prayers were answered on Aug. 7th, 2011 when he peacefully passed away at the Bethesda Hospital in Steinbach.
He was predeceased by his father, Martin P. Friesen, his mother, Anna and by one brother, Ernie. He leaves to mourn his son Mark Friesen, his sister Linda (Menno) Barkman, brothers Peter (Violet) Friesen, Paul (Margaret) Friesen, and many nieces and nephews.

BERTHA BUSKO (nee Sobering)
Bertha Busko at age 101 passed away peacefully at Kensington Gardens Nursing Home , Toronto , ON. Predeceased by husbands Wm. Duff and John Busko. Beloved mother of daughters Madeline Silver and the late Lilias Mitchell. Pre-deceased by her son-in-laws Robert Silver and Ross Mitchell. Sadly missed by her grandchildren David (wife Deborah) Diane , Gregory and Grant, and Great Grandson Mackenzie.
Bertha was the last living child of her late parents, Magdalena and Heinrich Sobering who immigrated to Manitoba in 1900 from Hungary. She was predeceased by her sisters Barbara, Johanna , Catherine , Magdalena , Anna and Eva. Brothers Simon, Heinrich , Andreas and John. As a teenager Bertha was employed at the Steinbach Telephone Exchange switchboard.

Marjorie Carr, 85, of Steinbach, passed away Thursday, August 4, 2011, at Bethesda Place in Steinbach.
She is survived by one son and his family.
She was predeceased by her first husband Ernest Goossen; and her second husband Martin Carr in 2000.
The funeral was held Monday, August 8, 2011, at 10:30 a.m. in the Great Room at Bethesda Place. Interment took place at Heritage Cemetery, Steinbach.

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Diane Lamont, Thursday, August 4, 2011.
Diane is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Hugh; her daughter Shaun and husband Ken. She is also survived by the light of her life...her grandchildren, Brendon, Keenan and Kiera. Diane is also survived by her brothers-in-law, Lorne and Don (Lise) and family. Diane held close to her heart her nieces and nephews, Brian (Laurie, Noah, Kevin, Kristy, Nathan), Bruce (Lori), Donna Mae (Tara, Harvey, Hailey, Lauryn), (Chris, Kristina, Adana, Jayden, Greg), Greg. She is also survived by Clarence (Eve), Alice (Bill), Cindy, Jarvis and Glenn.
Diane was predecessed by her parents, Henry and Hilda; parents-in-law, Earl and Ethel; nephew Jim; and very special sister-in-law and friend Lorna.
A celebration of her life will be held Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the Dominion City United Church.
