William (Bill) Reginald Forbes

Peacefully at the Tiger Hills Health Centre on Wednesday August 14, 2002, Mr. Bill Forbes of Rathwell, Manitoba passed away at the age of 74 years.

Bill is survived by his wife Jean, daughter Patti Manniss and her partner Serge Charron, son Raymond, daughter-in-law Dawn, grandson Scott, 3 Aunts, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He is predeceased by his parents, Reg and Louise, sister Agnes Watkins, and brothers Darrell, Bob and Grant.

Bill was born in Rathwell, Manitoba on 2 January, 1928. He moved with his parents and younger brother Grant into Winnipeg around 1942. Later, after working in a bush camp in Ontario, Bill joined the Army in 1948 where he began learning his trade with the Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (R.C.E.M.E.). He volunteered and served one tour of duty in Korea before returning for a year in Shilo. He then moved to Fort Churchill where he met and married Georgina (Jean) Seymour in 1955. Bill and Jean's children, Patti and Raymond were born in 1956 and 1958. In 1968 Bill took his discharge from the Army, returned to Manitoba and continued to pursue his trade as a mechanic with the Manitoba Department of Highways and Brooks Equipment in Winnipeg and Metcalfe's Garage in Treherne. He later began Forbes' Mobile Repair. He was constantly studying and working at his trade. The time spent working and visiting with his customers on their farms and in their garages were his happiest times. In 1992, ill contracted cancer and retired. After moving to Treherne in 1995, he spent much of his free time helping his fellow seniors.

With respect for Bill's wishes, cremation has taken place. Funeral Services will be held in the Rathwell Memorial Hall on Saturday August 17, 2002 at 2 p.m. with Reverend James Haupt officiating. Interment to follow in the Woodland Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Cancer Care or to Cancer Research.

Marielle Burgoyne

Peacefully at the St. Claude Hospital on Tuesday August 6, 2002, Mrs. Marielle Burgoyne of St. Claude, Manitoba passed away at the age of 44 years.

Funeral Services will be held in the St. Claude Roman Catholic Church on Friday August 9, 2002 at 10 a.m. with Father Marcel Toupin officiating. Interment in the Parish Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the St. Claude Hospital, Box 400 St. Claude, Manitoba R0G 1Z0 or to the Notre Dame Hospital, Box 190 Notre Dame de Lourdes, Manitoba R0G 1M0.

Alice Vuignier (nee Théroux)
1916-2002

Peacefully at Foyer Notre Dame of Notre Dame de Lourdes Manitoba, on August 5, 2002, Alice Vuignier passed away at the age of 85 years.

She leaves to mourn her children, Sister Florence, s.d.s., Georgette Bosc (Laurent), Lionel (Jeannette),Guy, Léo (Clémence), Lorraine Sawatzky (Willy) ; one son-in-law Daniel Viallet; ten grand children, three great grand children; also one brother Albert, two sisters Anna Pittet, Florence Joyal (Jean).

She was predeceased by her husband Paul, one daughter Gisèle, also by two brothers Joseph, Aimé, three sisters Marie, Emma Labossière, Sister Clémence s.d.s.

Funeral service presided by Father Marcel Damphouse will be held in the Notre Dame de Lourdes Catholic Church on Friday August 9, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. Internment will follow in the parish cemetery.

Special thanks to the staff of Foyer Notre Dame for their compassion and loving care given to our mother during her short stay.

Flowers are gratefully declined. If so desired donations may be made to Foyer Notre Dame or to a charity of your choice.

Pierre Augustin Bosc

Peacefully at the Riverview Health Centre on Saturday August 3, 2002, Mr. Pierre Bosc of Winnipeg, Manitoba passed away at the age of 70 years.

He leaves to mourn his passing four sisters: Annette Le Néal, Hélène (Luc) Trudel, Sr. Évelyne Bosc, Isabelle (Guy) Augert, three brothers: Marcien (Cécile Laroche) Bosc, Jean Bosc and Lucien (Lorraine Gooding) Bosc. Also numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his father Rémy in 1964, his mother Ange (née Magne) in 1982, one brother Antonio in 1993, one sister Claudette in 1937, and by one brother-in-law Josaphat Le Néal in 2002.

Upon graduation from high school, Pierre worked a year on the family farm, then taught under permit at Pinkerton School for one year. He attended Teachers' College and then taught for 26 years for the Seine River School Division. He moved to Alberta in 1979 until 1992 returning to Manitoba to enjoy his retirement.

Funeral Services will be held in the Notre Dame Roman Catholic Church on Wednesday August 7, 2002. Viewing at 10 a.m. followed by Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. with Father Marcel Damphousse officiating. Interment in the Parish Cemetery.

Pierre Augustin Bosc

Paisiblement, au Centre de santé Riverview, le samedi 3 août 2002, est décédé à l'âge de 70 ans, Pierre Bosc de Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Il laisse dans le deuil quatre soeurs: Annette Le Néal, Hélène (Luc) Trudel, Sr Évelyne Bosc, Isabelle (Guy) Augert, trois frères: Marcien (Cécile Laroche) Bosc, Jean Bosc et Lucien (Lorraine Gooding) Bosc, ainsi que de nombreux neveux et nièces, parents et amis. Il était précédé dans la tombe par son père Rémy en 1964, sa mère Ange (née Magne) en 1982, un frère Antonio en 1993, une soeur Claudette en 1937 et par un beau-frère Josaphat Le Néal en 2002.

Suite à ses études secondaires, Pierre a travaillé un an à la ferme familiale, puis a enseigné un an à l'école Pinkerton. Il s'inscrit alors à l'école normale à Winnipeg, puis enseigna dans la division scolaire de la rivière Seine pendant 26 ans. Il s'établit en Alberta de 1979 jusqu'en 1992 quand il rentra à Winnipeg pour sa retraite.

Il y aura visionnement et prières en l'église catholique de Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes le mercredi 7 août à 10 h jusqu'au service à 10h30. Les funérailles seront célébrées par l'abbé Marcel Damphousse, suivies de l'inhumation au cimetière paroissial.

En lieu et place de fleurs, on peut faire un don à CancerCare Manitoba, 675, ave McDermot, Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9.

Cécile Robidoux (nee Fay)

Peacefully at the Victoria General Hospital on Tuesday July 16, 2002, Mrs. Cécile Robidoux of St. Boniface, Manitoba passed away at the age of 72 years.

She leaves to mourn 4 children: Gil (Carole), Evelyn (Lorne Richards), Diane (Rob Lachance) and Donald Robidoux, 8 grandchildren: Bobby, Christine, Danielle; Nicole, Andre, Paul; Colin and Marc. She also leaves to mourn one brother Louis (Claire), brothers-in-law Jos (Annette) and Denis Robidoux, sisters-in-law Yvette (Roland Jolicoeur) and Fernande Robidoux, numerous nieces and nephews, and many friends who appreciated and enjoyed her sense of humour.

She was predeceased by her husband Henri in 1983, 2 brothers: Albert and George Fay, one infant sister Marie, one brother-in-law Emile Robidoux and by one sister-in-law Diane Robidoux.

With respect for Cécile's wishes, cremation has taken place. Funeral Services will be held in the Haywood Roman Catholic Church on Friday July 19, 2002. Recitation of the Rosary at 10:00 a.m. followed by Funeral Mass at 10:30, with Father Rodrigue Bouchard officiating. Interment to follow in the Parish Cemetery.

Ernest Deurbrouck

Ernest Deurbrouck, husband of the late Augustine (née Julien), passed away on Saturday, July 6, 2002, at the Notre Dame Foyer in Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes at the age of 88.

Ernest is survived by his 2 daughters: Georgette (Gabriel Durand) and Anita Bibault, both from Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes. He will be missed by 9 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren: Claude and Wendy Durand (Matthew), Angéla Durand (Melissa, Marina, Eliette), Michel and Micheline Durand (Marie, Daniel), Laurent and Patricia Durand (Claire), Marc Durand and fiancée Pamela, Raymond Bibault and fiancée Michelle (Candace, Dalton), Monique and Gilbert Badiou (Jérémie, Breanne), Sheri-Lynn and Bruno Labossière (Brendan, Dylan), and Nadine and Rob VanDeynze (Nicholas, Chelsea, Bryson). He also leaves behind 4 sisters-in-law and 1 brother-in-law: Leticia Deurbrouck, Virginie LeComte, Marie Tichit, Hélène Chammartin, and Richard Peel.

Beside his loving wife Augustine (née Julien), in 1998, Ernest was predeceased by parents Joseph Noel and Marie Deurbrouck, by 2 brothers, 2 sisters, 7 brothers-in-law, and 3 sisters-in-law: Julien Deurbrouck, and Adolphe and Antoinette Deurbrouck, by Clémence and Alphonse Desrosier, and Clarisse and Edmond Marginet, Jean-Baptiste and Marie Julien, Privat Julien, Emile Julien, Paul Chammartin, Henri Tichit, Louise Julien, and Antoinette Peel.

Prayers will be held at Adam's Funeral Home on Wednesday July 10, 2002 at 8 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated in the Notre Dame Roman Catholic Church on Thursday July 11, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. with Father Jean-Hubert Collet officiating. Interment in the Parish Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, anyone interested may make a donation to the Notre Dame Foyer or to the Cancer Society.

Gladys Marjorie Adair (nee Huggart)

Gladys Marjorie Adair (nee Huggart) passed away July 5, 2002, at the St. Boniface General Hospital at the age of 68 years, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Gladys was predeceased by her husband Len, their son Clifford, her parents William and Hazel Huggart, her brother Tom Huggart, and brother and sister-in-law Allan and Irene Adair.

She will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by her children Lynn and husband Bob Wood, Brian and wife Doris Adair, Scott and wife Sherry Adair and Allison and husband Neil Thiessen; her grandchildren Kevin, Marcy, Sharisse, Carl, Devon, Jaydon, Nickolas and Mackenzie; one brother Bill and wife Gladys Huggart; one sister Sadie and husband Shorty Wilson; sisters in law Pat Huggart and Violet and husband Sandy Fraser; numerous nieces and nephews and countless friends.

Gladys was born in Rathwell and lived in the community her entire life. She was actively involved in community activities and a member of Calvin United Church. She enjoyed curling, camping, playing cards, bingo and time spent with her family and friends.

The family would like to express their thanks to all the care givers who helped Gladys during her illness. Special thanks to the Health Science Centre and St. Boniface General Hospital Oncology Departments and the staff on A5 at St. Boniface who cared for Mom in her last week.

Funeral Service was held on Tuesday, July 9th in the Rathwell Memorial Community Centre with Rev. Jim Penhale officiating.

George Luke Payment

On Wednesday June 26, 2002, George Payment suddenly passed away at the Grace Hospital.

George was born in Elie, MB on June 19, 1932 and resided there until his passing.

He leaves to mourn his two sisters, Adeline Quinn and Helen Ammeter (Alvin "Shorty"); his brothers, Leon, Roger (Valerie) and Arthur; sister-in-law Olivia Payment of Montreal; brother-in-law Alfred Ammeter; and many nieces and nephews. George was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Marie Payment; his sister Anita Ammeter; his brothers, Alfred and Fernand; 1 sister-in-law Helene Payment; and brother-in-law Paul Quinn.

Prayers will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday July 2 in the Blessed Sacrament Church; Elie; MB, followed by a Memorial Service at 7:30 p.m. The family wishes to thank Sherry and Gilles Legault for all they have done for George, It was greatly appreciated.

Peacefully with her family present on Wednesday June 19, 2002 at the Lorne Memorial Hospital, Mrs. Louise Marginet of Bruxelles, Manitoba passed away at the age of 98 years, 9months and 17days.

She also leaves to cherish her memory one sister Maria Fifi, and 2 sisters-in-law: Sr. Clara and Sr. Christiana Marginet in Belgium.

Louise was predeceased by her husband Alberic (1982), sons Roland (1999) and infant Raymond (1930), infant daughter Angeline(1935), son-in-law Clement Adam (1984), parents Gustave and Marie (Poncelet) Hutlet, and by 4 brothers, 8 sisters, 4 Marginet brothers-in-law and all the spouses.

Grandma Marginet was a mother, homemaker, and avid gardener, known to can 1000 quarts of fruits and vegetables in a season. She was a lover of photography who left us a treasure of photos of each of us and the family activities. She loved family gatherings and was known to count out her own children and remark if any one was missing! She enjoyed playing cards and taught us that winning was not the most important thing. She enjoyed Belgian Bolling and won her first trophy at the tender age of 83. She had her stint as a member of the local CWL. She was quiet in her faith and devotion. She loved music and her daughters remember dancing with her at her 98th birthday party.

Prayers will be held in the Bruxelles Roman Catholic Church on Monday June 24, at 8 p.m. Mass of the Christian Burial will follow on Tuesday June 25 at 2 p.m. with Father Gerry Sembrano officiating. Interment to follow in the Bruxelles Parish Cemetery.

As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Lorne Memorial Hospital Palliative Care Unit, Box 40, Swan Lake, MB R0G 2S0.
