Susan Brenda Moose
On Sunday, March 31, 2013 at the Manitoba Developmental Centre, Susan Moose passed away at the age of 46 years.
Funeral service conducted by Chaplain Ron Siemens will be held on Thursday, April 4, 2013 at 1:30 p. m. in the Aspen Worship Centre, M.D.C..
Interment will follow in Hillside Cemetery.

Unexpectedly on Sunday, March 24, 2013 Warren passed away at the age of 66 years.
No service will be held.
Finn Sorensen
Suddenly on Sunday, March 24, 2013 at his residence in Brandon, MB., Finn Sorensen passed away at the age of 70 years.

Marion Mae Scott
Early on Sunday March 10th, Marion Mae Scott (nee Brown) passed away in the Portage Hospital at the age of seventy five years.
Marion was born on May 14, 1937 to John and Nettie Brown of Silverton. MB.
Marion received the majority of her schooling in Birtle, MB.
Upon graduating she went to Winnipeg to attend Normal school.
During her schooling she met Jim Reimer. Marion and Jim married and their family grew.
Marion returned to Birtle in 1967 with her sons.
Marion remained in Birtle until she married Alec Scott in 1976.
Marion and Alec moved to Portage and later Oakville.
Upon Alec’s retirement they moved back into Portage.
Marion is predeceased by her parents John and Nettie Brown and sister Joan.
Left to mourn are her sons Conrad, Cliff (Karen), Bob (Pam) and Keith, her brother George Brown (Faye) and sister Elaine Knowles (Jack), grandchildren, great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Marion was an active member of the Eastern Star.
She was like the house mother of the apartment block she lived in for about 30 years. She will be sadly missed.

Hettie Eleanor Mossa
Peacefully on Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at the Lion’s Prairie Manor, Hettie Mossa, beloved wife of Bill Mossa passed away at the age of 87 years.
Hettie was born at Weyburn, Saskatchewan on April 19, 1925 and moved with her parents to Glenella, MB. in 1932. She attended Camperdown school.
In 1946 she married Bill Mossa and they farmed in the Glenella District until 1975 when they retired and moved to Portage la Prairie,
Hettie was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Unit #13 Army, Navy Air Force Veteran’s Association where she enjoyed helping with lunches after funerals and with wedding receptions.
She also loved knitting and visiting with her grandchildren and enjoyed Saturday night dancing at the Army & Navy.
Hettie was predeceased by her parents Fred and Mary Heudebourk of Glenella and one daughter Eleanor Lee of Portage la Prairie.
Left to mourn her passing are; her husband of 66 years, Bill Mossa, one daughter Barbara (Lyle) McKay of Glenella, MB., six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her two brothers Keith Heudebourk and Harry Heudebourk.
The family wish to thank the staff at the Lions manor for the compassionate care shown to their mom during her six year stay there.
A family graveside service will be held at a later date in the Goodlands Cemetery at Glenella, MB.

Diane Kwiatkowski
Suddenly on Feb 28th, 2013 at the age of 63, Diane Marlene Kwiatkowski (nee: Carrothers, Mayer) slipped away at the Grace Hospital in Winnipeg.
Left to mourn are her husband Mike, her sons Kevin (and his wife Karen and their children, Tyler, Rebecca and Brooke), Sean (and his son Chad), Marshall, her sister Connie, brother Danny and Mikes’ daughters Sherrice (her husband Jason and son Alexander) and Nellie (and her son Travis).
Diane will be missed by all who loved her.
She had many friends, brother-in-laws, and sister-in-laws who will miss her tremendously.
Diane was born in Simcoe Ontario October 5th, 1949.
She moved to Winnipeg when she was 6, and then to Portage when she was in her 20's with her 3 sons, Kevin, Sean and Marshall.
It is in Portage that she met the love of her life Michael.
Together they adventured throughout Ontario and Manitoba, living in various places such as Toronto, London, Ottawa and finally settling in Portage la Prairie.
Throughout her life in Portage, Diane worked at the Midtown Market and Wash Stop, where she enjoyed interacting with all the people she came into contact with.
She always had a big smile and a laugh for the customers. Diane brought joy and love to everyone she met.
After retiring she moved out to their home on the farm.
It is out on the farm where Diane truly flourished she loved to live there; every day, enjoying her horses, dogs, cats and of course her beloved goat “Baby”.
She was an amazing cook and baker and always had something fantastic to eat for anyone stopping by.
Diane loved having her grandchildren Brooke (Bird) and Rebecca (Boo) come and spend time out on the farm.
She especially enjoyed spending the summers with them. Diane and Mike have 6 grandchildren whom they loved and cherished.
Brooke, Rebecca, Tyler, Chad, Travis and Alex. They will all dearly miss their Grandma.
Diane will be remembered by all who knew her for her generosity, kindness, smile, laugh and of course her response to the question “How are you doing today?” “Just Peachy"
A memorial reception will be held on Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at the Herman Prior Centre, 40 Royal Road N., Portage la Prairie.

Thomas David Burke
On Friday, February 15, 2013, Thomas (Tom) David Burke peacefully passed away at the Portage District General Hospital at the age of 64.
Tom was born in Portage la Prairie, MB on May 2, 1948, where he grew up and attended school.
Over the years, Tom worked in a number of fields with welding and mechanics being his specialities.
Until his health failed, he was employed at Grenville Farms.
Tom loved the outdoors, camping, fishing and spending time with family and friends.
He is predeceased by his parents, Morley and Olive; brothers, Gordon, Fred and Lloyd; sisters, Lois and Shirley.
He will be fondly remembered by sister Ethel (Hughie); children: Donna (Darryl), Norm (Michelle), Thomas (Janessa) and Crystal (Darrell); grandchildren: Kyla, Damien, Katelyn, Rylan, Heather, Cassidy, Jackson, Keagan, Dawson, Lukas, and Noah; great-grandchildren: Amy, Blake, Ava and Jayden and dearly loved friend Sonia along with a number of nieces and nephews.
Memorial Service/Interment will be held at Hillside Cemetery on Friday, February 22, 2013 at 2:00 p.m.
Following the service, family and friends are invited to gather to celebrate Tom’s life at the Army, Navy & Air Force Veterans in Canada.

Gordon Eugene Sharp
It is with heavy hearts and deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Gordon Eugene Sharp on February 10, 2013 at the age of 58 years.
Gordon is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Carol; daughter Charlene (Jeff) along with grandchildren Kaila, Travis, Annika, Marek, and Jaxon; sister Ruth (Ed); sister Georgina (Chris); sister Theresa; sister Shirley and many other extended family members.
Gordon was predeceased by his father George, mother Albina, son Travis, and niece Katharyn.
Gordon was born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba and spent most of his career working for Manitoba Infrastructure and Transportation as a Safety Training Facilitator.
Gordon spent many hours traveling, spent many summers camping in Stonewall and winters in Arizona.
His favorite travel destination was Hawaii.
He could often be found in front of the BBQ, cooking for friends and family.
The joys of life were his grandchildren who gave him much pleasure.
A favorite memory will be of Gordon watching movies with his grandchildren, eating popcorn twists.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday February 13, 2013 at 1:30 pm at Herman Prior Center, Portage la Prairie.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Portage District General Hospital for the care given to Gordon.

Jean Caroline Musgrave
Jean Musgrave, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully at the age of 96 years in the McCreary Alonsa Personal Care Home.
Jean was the last of seven children born in southern Manitoba to the late Joseph and Grace Aldred who later settled in the area near Laurier.
She married Bruce Musgrave in 1941 and settled in McCreary on the family farm.
Along with a busy farm life and two children of her own, she welcomed two teenagers, Eileen and Pauline Hey into the family.
Those who knew her and walked past her home knew her passion for flowers and the joy she had working in her flower beds, especially the Lady Slipper patch in the back yard.
She loved all the visits from her grandchildren but was the great-grandchildren whose pictures always had a special place on her fridge or the wall in the care home.
She will be missed by her two children; Lang (Lorraine) and Joan (Al), five grandchildren; Shawna (Mark), Vince(Trudy), Nicole (Greg), Gieta (Ian), Heidi (Guy) and ten great-grandchildren, Connor, Michael, Chandler, Gina, Liam, Jacob, Zachary, Roene, Axel and Kitson.
The family would very much like to thank all the staff at the McCreary Alonsa Personal Care Home for their care, compassion and dignity which Jean was shown during her last days.
There will be a service and celebration of her life at a later date.
