August 2, 1933 – August 1, 2007

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father and Grandpere, surrounded by his family on August 1, 2007 at the age of 73.
He will be sadly missed by his wife Doris; children Linda Perrin (Gilbert), Rene (Yvette), Elaine Ferguson (Shane), Monique Ferguson of Calgary and Jeannette St. Hilaire (Norman); grandchildren – Miguel, Christine, Joel, Cory, Chantalle, Meagan, Shanna, Devin, Daniel and Shanelle. He also leaves to mourn his sisters, Theresa Clement (Denis), Yvonne Boulet, Carmel LaPlante-Cross (Gordon) and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, brothers Aurel, Jean and Romain, his sisters Lucille Boulet and Odile Elhatton and son-in-law, Lance.
Dad was born in St. Lupicin, MB and later moved to Winnipeg where he worked as a furrier for a number of years. He then worked with the University of Winnipeg until his retirement.
Dad loved nature and was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping with his family. He also enjoyed outings with his siblings at the Assiniboia Downs and the weekend gatherings playing cards. He took great pride in being one of Lorette’s Scout Masters throughout the 1960’s. His main objective was to guide the young boy scouts on a path of respecting and appreciating nature and all that God has given us. He was also an avid hockey fan, in particular of the Montreal Canadiens. We have many fond memories of Dad, in particular his regular Sunday dinner preparations while singing his favourite songs.
The family would like to offer thanks to the staff at Taché Centre 4 ABC, for the care and compassion they provided Dad, especially in his final days with us.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 7th at the Holy Family Parish Roman Catholic Church, 778 Archibald Street, with Father Ron Léger, C. S.V. presiding. A private inurnment of the cremated remains will take place the following day at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Marjorie Copland Stein
June 3, 1920 - August 22, 2007

Peacefully on August 22, 2007 our dear mother passed away at Riverview Health Center with family by her side.
She leaves to cherish her memory; her sons, Ken (Leslie), Brian (Judy), Gordon (Denise), Harry, her daughter Debbie Hopkins, thirteen grandchildren, their spouses, nine great-grand children and many loved family members and friends. She was predeceased by her son Eric and granddaughter Kelly Lynn.
Marjorie was born in Glasgow Scotland on June 3rd, 1920. From the beginning we know that family was very important to her by the many stories she shared over the years. Childhood memories in Scotland included; running through the heather, doing the Pally Glide with her cousin Connie and spending time with her dear brother George.
She came to Canada as a war bride in 1946 arriving at Pier 21 and living in Winnipeg. Together Mom and Dad had six children, raising them on military bases across western Canada and settling in Winnipeg. Mom loved her children and devoted her life to them. We have fond memories of the aromas coming from her kitchen and especially enjoyed her Prize Butter Tarts and coburg cakes. She treasured her grand children and great-grandchildren always greeting them with a smile and a giggle.
She always had time to listen to all of our stories and adventures. Most of all she cared. We will miss her dearly.
The family wishes to say a heartfelt thank-you to the staff on 4e and 2w of Riverview for the loving way they cared for our mom. They made a real home for her and we were always confident with her care.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Riverview Health Center “2West Foundation Account” or the charity of your choice.
Memorial service will be held at 1pm at Whyte Ridge Baptist Church, 201 Scurfield Blvd, on Tuesday August 28, 2007. A private interment for the family will be held prior to the service.
