Crystal Ann Paul

Passed away on Saturday, July 18, 2009 in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Wake began Wednesday, July 22, 2009 at 7 pm at the Amaranth Hall. Funeral Service was held on Friday, July 24, 2009 at 2 pm at Our Lady Of Angels Catholic Church in Amaranth with Father Roy George Vazhaplankudiyil officiating. Interment took place in the St. Margaret's Anglican Cemetery at High Bluff.

Shirley Ann Heintz

Shirley Heintz (nee Gray) of Carberry, Manitoba, our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away suddenly on July 27, 2009, at the age of 74.
Shirley was born near Tofield, Alberta on June 15, 1935 the eldest daughter of Tod and Elizabeth Gray. She completed her schooling in Tofield and in 1954 married Frank Heintz. Together they raised their first 4 children in Alberta, and then in 1963, moved to a farm in Glenella where the remaining 2 of their children were born in 1964. Shirley was very active in the 4H Club and with the United Church. Shirley and Frank operated a small family farm and the Glenella Transfer business for several years. Later Shirley became the Secretary Treasurer of the R.M of Glenella until her retirement.
Shirley enjoyed her retirement years travelling the country during the summer and being a Snowbird in Texas during the winter months.
Shirley was predeceased by her parents Tod and Elizabeth Gray of Tofield and leaves to cherish her memory her husband Frank of 55 years; her children Gail, Duane (Joan), David, Dianna (Gerry), Brian and Barbara (Dale); 13 grandchildren and one great grandchild as well as five sisters; numerous nieces; nephews and dear friends.
A celebration of Shirley’s was held on Friday, July 31, 2009 at 2:00 pm in the Glenella Hall with Rev. Peggy Reid officiating. A private family interment took place in the Goodland Cemetery. Urn Bearer was Dave Heintz. Honourary Pallbearers were Margaret Allen, Boyd & May Clayton, Rose Dayholos, Marge Marciski, Bill & Hettie Mossa and Hazel Zdan.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Shirley's memory to the Heart and Stoke Foundation of Manitoba, 6 Donald St, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3L 0K6 or to the Glenella United Church, Box 147, Glenella, Manitoba, R0J 0V0.

Clifford Lamont Huskins

With family at his side, Clifford Huskins passed away on August 2, 2009 at Seven Regions Health Centre after a long battle with cancer.
Clifford was born on May 28, 1941 in Hornepayne, Ontario.
Clifford worked for Manitoba Highways for 29 years. He was a man of many talents and hobbies such as woodworking, cooking, gardening and canning. He also enjoyed working puzzles and crosswords.
Clifford’s fondest memories include being with his family, camping, attending the Corn and Apple Festival or just being at home and laughing and joking around.
Clifford’s long time companion was his dog Junior. Junior went with Clifford everywhere.
Clifford is survived by his loving wife of 30 years Lorraine and his children Faye (Dallas), Michael, Jennifer (Jared), Jamie (Megan) and grandchildren Dara and Garrett. As well as more recently Shelley (Rick) and grandchildren Jessica (Chris), Candice, Jody and great granddaughter Lisa Marie.
Clifford is predeceased by his parents Irene and Basil Huskins, his daughter Crystal, two brothers in law and one nephew.
Funeral Service was held on Thursday, August 6, 2009 at the Gladstone United Church with Rev. Ian Olive officiating. Urn Bearer was Jack Huskins. Interment took place in the Gladstone Cemetery with a lunch following in the Church Annex. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Central Plains Cancer Care or to the Seven Regions Palliative Care.

Alice Helena Hogarth

Entered into rest on Wednesday, August 5, 2009 at the age of 89 years. She was born on October 13, 1919 at East Bay, Manitoba. Alice grew up in that area and graduated from Bluebell School. After her schooling, Alice worked doing housework south of Dauphin, Hart and in the Plumas District.
On December23, 1938 she married Richard Hogarth and they farmed in the Plumas District until retiring to Gladstone in 1975. In December of 2008, Alice moved to Third Crossing Manor where she has since resided. Alice centered her life around her family, home and garden. She enjoyed visiting and quilting and her friends were very important to her. She was a member of the U.C.W and a life member of the Legion Ladies Auxiliary.
Alice is predeceased by her husband Richard; parents Albert and Vivian Hudson; brothers Bert (Phyllis), Ed (Jean), Ralph, Howard; sister Laura (Harold) and brother in law Harry. She is survived by five sons Allan, Charlie (Joyce), Herb, Norman (Pearl), Bruce (Gwen Kerr) and one daughter Margaret. Alice also leaves to mourn her passing her grandchildren Richard (Rita), Sheldon (Monica), Tina (John), Vicki (Colin) and Michael as well as great grandchildren Randy, Jade, Alexis, Jerica, Juliana and Alison; brothers Wilf (Lou), Edgar (Gertrude) and Ernie; sisters Nora (Bill), Mabel and Ethel (Bob).
A private family viewing took place on Sunday, August 9, 1009 at Clarke’s Funeral Chapel, Gladstone. Funeral Service was held on Monday, August 10, 2009 at Plumas United Church with Wendy Denbow officiating. Pallbearers were Chris Chandler, Ed Grumpelt, Roy Lees, Lawson McCurre, Arnold Gal and Art Habke. Attending as a group and forming an Honour Guard were members of the Legion Ladies Auxiliary. Interment took place in the Plumas Cemetery.

Kendall Edward Chambette

Beloved son of Crystal Chambette and Richard Roulette, passed away on August 5, 2009 at the Portage General Hospital.
Wake began on Thursday, August 6, 2009 at the Sandy Bay Complex in Sandy Bay First Nation at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Service was held Friday, August 7, 2009 at 2:00 p.m at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church in Amaranth, Manitoba with Father Philip Malayil officiating. Interment took place at the Sandy Bay Cemetery. Pallbearers were Julian Roulette, Ronald Roulette, Austin Roulette and Kirk Roulette.

Joseph Henry Roulette

Henry lived a private life. He was a trapper, fisherman and a hunter for all game. He loved to play card games and board games where thinking skills were used. He never said no to anyone that needed help whether it be food, candy, cigarettes or money. He always shared what he had. He fulfilled his brother Louie’s wish to take care of his children and wife and he became husband and stepfather to Sarah’s children.
Predeceased by his parents Alphonse and Cyriace Roulette; brothers Louie Richard, Solomon and Antoine Roulette; sisters Alma Beaulieu, Violet Paul and Rita Richard. He is also predeceased by his common-law partner Sarah Richard. He leaves to mourn his passing his stepchildren Paulette Whitford (Wilson), Barbara (Wayne) Roulette, Elizabeth Richard (Leslie), Andrew Richard (Hazel) and Brian Richard; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and step grandchildren.
Wake began Tuesday, August 11, 2009 at Joseph’s residence in Sandy Bay First Nation, MB. Funeral service was held on Wednesday, August 12, 2009 at Our Lady Of The Angels Catholic Church at 2:00 p.m. with Father Philip Malayil officiating. Pallbearers were Terry Beaulieu, Andrew Richard Sr., Francis Richard, Ronnie Roulette, Mark Roulette and Dennis Beaulieu. Interment took place at the Sandy Bay Cemetery.

Tannis Jaye Roulette-Beaulieu

Born on February 25, 1981. Suddenly on August 14, 2009 our dearest Tannis Jaye (T.J) passed away. She leaves to mourn her passing, her husband Jeff; sons Ethan (8), Brysen (6); daughter Shailee (4); mother Delores; father Ricky; brothers Richard (Lynn), Alex (Serena); sister Alethia (Mike); nieces Taylar Dawn, Brooklyn; nephew Traden; along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many of her childhood friends.
T.J is predeceased by her koko Gladys and Elizabeth; her cousins Blaine and Shantelle and her mother-in-law Debra.
We'll all miss her very much, we'll keep her memory strong and truly then she will never leave our hearts.
We will miss you greatly T.J. Wake began Thursday, August 20, 2009 at 280 Main Road, Sandy Bay First Nation. Funeral service was held at Our Lady of Angels Church in Amaranth on Saturday, August 22, 2009 at 3:00 pm with Father James DeBeer officiating. She was laid to rest at Sandy Bay Cemetery. Pallbearers were uncles Alex Houle, Francis Houle, and Napolean Houle, cousins Russell Beaulieu, Elgin Beaulieu and Nathan Mousseau. All cousins, friends and relatives were considered honourary pallbearers.

Roy William McConnell

Passed away suddenly on Saturday, August 22, 2009, Roy McConnell age 61 years of Gladstone.
Roy was born in Gladstone on May 18, 1948 to Thelma and Murray McConnell. He was raised on what currently is a 5th Generation Century farm. He attended the Gold Stream District School and graduated from WMCI. He worked for a time in Winnipeg and then ventured to British Columbia to work in the logging industry. Roy soon returned home to work on the family farm. This is when he met Betty and they were married in 1973. In 1977 Roy took over full operation of the family farm.
He held a strong love for agriculture and the rural life, which was enriched through curling, hockey, baseball, golf, deer hunting, fishing, and of course time spent in the coffee shop or listening to CBC radio.
Roy was an active community member, coaching his son’s minor hockey teams in the winter; a Councillor for the RM of Westbourne; a member of the Gladstone Elks, a long time member of the Whitemud Watershed. He was the organizer and first President of the Big Grass Grazers Cooperative. He was also very proud of his work in organizing the Yellowhead Rural Water Project. He played on various sports teams including baseball, curling and was one of the original “Old Duckers” and he was on the winning team for the Elks Provincial Curling Championships.
His greatest pride was his family. He will be remembered for being the greatest father, husband and friend anyone could have asked for.
Predeceased by his father Murray in 1977, brother John in 2002 and nephew Tim. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife of 35 years, Betty; daughter Wendy and husband Jon; granddaughter KC; sons Ryan and fiancée Laurel, Wade and special friend Kerrie; mother Thelma; sister Ferne and partner Harold; nephews David and wife Susanne & family, Edward and special friend Jill; and niece Danielle.
A Celebration of Roy’s Life was held on Wednesday, August 26, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in the Gladstone District Community Centre with Rev. Ian Olive officiating. Interment followed in the Gladstone Cemetery. Honourary pallbearers were Bob Olson, Doug Stewart, Gerald McGowan, Art Pearce, Louis Bokor, Roy Lees, Chris Chandler, Daniel Novak, and Darryl Mauthe. Attending in a group were members of the Whitemud Watershed.
If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made in Roy’s memory to the Gladstone District Community Centre, Box 25, Gladstone, MB, R0J 0T0.
