CHARLES JOHN FRIESEN
Chuck was raised on the farm, faithfully attended church and developed a personal relationship with Christ Jesus at a young age. He was involved in Pleasant Valley EMC in many ways, and especially enjoyed preaching. His last sermon was delivered June 26, 2011.
Chuck attended S.B.C., T.W.U. in B.C., and T.E.D.S in Chicago, Illinois, and formed lasting relationships as friends and mentors with Harvey Plett from S.B.C., and Harold Faw from T.W.U. Chuck continued to study at Providence College & Seminary this past winter. One of Chuck’s passions was Greek, another was his studies. He translated the gospel of John from Greek to English at least once and wrote many papers for personal challenge. The more he studied, the more he became sure of his faith in Christ.
In the summer of 2009, Chuck was diagnosed with colon cancer. Together with Julia, Chuck sought God’s healing both physically and emotionally, and he never lost faith in the love and grace of Christ. In fact, Chuck’s faith continued to grow stronger as his focus on Jesus became clearer. On Wednesday, July 27, while held in the arms of his beloved wife, Julia, Chuck entered Heaven’s Glory, and left his ailing body behind. He finished STRONG.
Thank you to Dr. Fraser of Morris Hospital and Dr Menzies of Boundary Trails Health Center, as well as all the nursing & medical staff, for their wonderful care. Thank you to friends and family for your love and support.
Psalm 149:4 “For the Lord takes pleasure in his people; He will beautify the afflicted ones with salvation.”
