In 1985, they retired into the town of Langruth where he enjoyed his retirement years with many activities.
In 1996, his beloved wife Mae passed away. Pete remained in their home and lived independently until his sudden stroke in September. He never missed an activity his grandchildren were involved in and he looked forward to visits from his great grandchildren. Pete was an avid gardener and took great pride in his roses. He looked forward to fall suppers where he would catch up with friends. He was an active member of the Langruth United Church.
