CHRISTIAN ROEMICH

June 30, 2004

CHRISTIAN ROEMICH Peacefully, on June 27, 2004 at Seven Oaks Hospital, Christian Roemich, beloved husband of Katharina, passed away at the age of 84 years. Christian will be sadly missed by his wife Katharina; son Hermann (Sharon); grandsons, Shaun and Brenden; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son Adolf in infancy, his parents, and one sister. Christian and Katharina were married on September 6, 1941, and were blessed to have shared 62 years of marriage together. He had a passion for music and especially enjoyed singing in the Winnipeg German Choir and the church choir. Special thank you to Dr. Finlayson and staff at Seven Oaks Hospital for their care and kindness in making Christian comfortable in his last few days. Thank you also to Pastor Engel for his spiritual support to the family. A private family interment will take place in Glen Eden Memorial Gardens. Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, July 6 at 2:00 p.m. at Christ Lutheran Church, 815 Inkster Blvd. In lieu of flowers, donations in Christian's memory may be made to Christ Lutheran Church, or to a charity of one's choice. WINNIFRED SANDERSON

WINNIFRED BEATRICE SANDERSON On Thursday, June 17, 2004 at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg, MB Winnifred Beatrice Sanderson aged 97 years, beloved wife of the late George Harold Sanderson formerly of Minnedosa, MB. Mrs. Sanderson was born in Ipswich, England on July 15, 1906 and moved to Canada with her family at a early age. They first settled in Prince Edward County near Belleville, ON. She moved to Winnipeg to live with her aunt and uncle, Walter and Grace Wright and finish her high school education. She attended Normal School in Winnipeg and started teaching in northern Manitoba in 1935. She met her husband George Sanderson in northern Manitoba and they moved to Minnedosa, where she continued to teach school until her retirement in 1971. She was an active member of St. Mark's Anglican Church, serving on the church board and singing in the choir. She moved to Winnipeg in 1994 to reside in the Lions Manor on Sherbrook Street to be closer to her family. Mrs. Sanderson leaves to cherish her memory three sons, Jack Sanderson of Victoria, BC, Bert Sanderson of St. John, NB, Leonard and his wife Gwen Sanderson of Winnipeg and several grandchildren. Also surviving are one sister Bernice McLean of Belleville and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband George Sanderson in 1977; by one son Hugh Sanderson in 1991; and by three brothers, Edgar, Robert and Leonard Button. Funeral service will be held from St. Mark's Anglican Church in Minnedosa on Monday, July 5 at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. James Bardsley officiating. Interment will be in the family plot in the Minnedosa Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to a charity of one's choice. HANNAH MAUREEN SINCLAIR On Monday, June 28, 2004, Hannah Maureen Sinclair passed away in Winnipeg at the age of 47 years. She will be lovingly remembered by her life long partner, Norman Williams. She will also be missed by her special friend Jack. Hannah is also survived by her four children; Darius, Sylvester, Cory and Felicia; stepmother Susan Amos; sisters Jean, Audrey, Karen, Patty, Ellie and Tina; brothers Clarence and Melbert. She will be sadly missed by all her friends for her happy go lucky way. Visitation will take place on Thursday, July 1, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Aboriginal Funeral Chapel, 724 Selkirk Avenue at Parr, Winnipeg. MARY ELLEN SMITH Mary Ellen Smith, born August 14, 1910 in Winnipeg, passed away peacefully in Grace General Hospital on June 27, 2004. She was the daughter of Thomas and Ida Waddington who have predeceased her, as well as brothers, Thomas, Keith and Robert. She is survived by her husband James; and sisters-in-law, Lorna Waddington and Shirley Waddington. Cremation has taken place, and a family graveside service will be held at Chapel Lawn on Wednesday, June 30 at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Rose Ferries will officiate the service. DONNA SPEAREY (nee PAGET) Suddenly on June 24, 2004, Donna passed away at the age of 49 years. Donna was born in Winnipeg on February 8, 1955. She is survived by family and friends who dearly cherish her memory, her partner Tim Noel; stepmom Annette Paget; sons, Nick and Jason (Heidi); sister Shirley (Ray); her grandchildren, relatives and friends. Donna was a person who was a joy to be with, and she enjoyed living in Headingley and travelling to England with Tim. She will be greatly missed by all who love her. DANIEL TARDIFF

DANIEL I. TARDIFF On June 27, 2004, Daniel Isadore Tardiff fell into eternal rest. His memory will be cherished by his devoted wife of 63, Agnes (nee Levreault); his children, Irvine and wife Wendy Tardiff of Calgary, and Linda and husband John Anderson of Winnipeg; and grandchildren, Natalie and husband Matt Blair, and Charles and Ivor Anderson. He was predeceased by his parents, Florien and Laurentine Tardiff; his siblings, Alexandra, Clemence, Omer, Rene, Raymond, Raoul and Zephirin Tardiff; and by his grandson Michael Tardiff. He also leaves to mourn many extended family members and friends, with special mention of his faithful friend Kevin Dandurand. Dad was born on June 4, 1914 in Mariapolis, educated in Bruxelles, and then, as a young man, farmed on his allotment of the family's property. He later became employed as a grain buyer in Cardinal until he and Agnes moved to Winnipeg. Dad spent the rest of his working career employed as a wood worker. Dad, with Agnes, put his energies into providing a stable home for his family. He will be remembered for his work ethic, wicked sense of humour, generosity and his thoughtfulness for others. Dad selflessly and quietly lent a steadfast hand to those in need. His sense of fun was endearing to both acquaintances and strangers alike. He'll be missed by all. The funeral service, officiated by Fr. Fred Olds, will be held at Green Acres Funeral Chapel, Hwy. No. 1 East at Navin Road on Friday, July 2 at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow in Green Acres Memorial Gardens. TREVOR TIRSCHMAN

TREVOR BRUCE TIRSCHMAN It is with great sadness that we mourn the passing of Trevor Bruce Tirschman who died on Sunday, June 27, 2004 at the age of 26 years. His memory will be forever cherished by his parents, Garry and Pina; brother and sister-in-law Jason and Liane; nephew Riley ("his boy"); his special grandparents, Mike and Teresa Melillo; his fiance Candace Werestiuk, along with her parents, Leslie and Daniel Stebelko; Ron Werestiuk (Deb); and sisters, Leah and Shannon; special cousins, aunts, uncles, special friend and mentor Joseph Slavik and numerous friends. Trevor was a very hard worker. At a young age he began working at home, at Hydro and at Jennifer's. He opened his own business at the age of 22, "Jennifer's" a restaurant he opened five years ago with his partner Joe. Although he loved the restaurant, his second passion was for building things - for example the swing set he built for his nephew, Riley and would have been for his future children. His happiest times were centred around his family and friends. He was looking forward to starting the next chapter of his life with Candace and beginning a family of his own. Funeral service will be held on Friday, July 2 at 11:00 a.m. at Sobering Funeral Chapel, Beausejour. Burial will take place at St. Paul Lutheran Church, River Hills at 2:00 p.m. Bring wild daisies. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church or Epilepsy Canada. Trevor we will never forget you - always love you and as the daisies come up in spring they will remind us that you are not gone, but always with us.

DAVID JAMES WILSON On April 22, 2004, David James Wilson of St. Albert passed away at the age of 59 years. David James Wilson, loving husband, father, brother and favourite Uncle, passed away on April 22, 2004. He leaves behind his wife Shirley, children, Ben and Ali, their mother Elinor and special family pet, Georgie. He will also be greatly missed by his brother Larry and his family (Trish, Sean & Chris) in Vancouver, his sister Liz Simmons and her family (John, Amy & Paul) in Calgary, his mother-in-law Jean French in Gimli, Manitoba and by numerous other relatives and friends. David was predeceased by his parents, Herbert and Merle Wilson. A Celebration of David's Life will be held at the Norwood Hotel, 112 Marion Street, Winnipeg, MB, on Monday, July 5, 2004 at 2:00 p.m..
