DOROTHY MABLE ROSS Peacefully, with family by her side, our mother, gran, chapan, aunt, sister-in-law, niece and friend, Dorothy Mable Ross of Fisher River, MB entered into eternal rest at the age of 87 on June 23, 2004 at her home. She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Willie (Emily) Travers, Betsy (Henry Sr.) Hudson, Michael Ross, Annie Ross, Elsie Bear (Curtis), Charles Mason, Edmond Mckay, Brian Amos and adopted daughter Gail Arnault; 14 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; uncle Miles Traverse; sisters-in-law, Miriam Sinclair, Irene Murdock; brother-in-law Clifford (Emily) Murdock; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Dorothy was predeceased by her parents, William and Annie Traverse; father and mother-in-law, Blake and Frances Murdock and husband Wilfred Ross. Mom was strong in her faith; she would travel to different church services to hear the word of God. She loved to knit and crochet and make quilts. Mom will be remembered for her kind, gentle, and loving ways. We know she is at peace now as she has given so much to others. You will always be in our thoughts and prayers; we miss you and will always love you. The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to Drs. G and C Andreas and the staff at the Percy E. Moore Hospital, Waldie Murdock and Yvonne Mallette and the staff at the Fisher River Personal Care Home, Peguis Ambulance, Mervin Abas, Fisher River Health Centre, Sharon Sutherland and family, extended family from Peguis and Jackhead, and the many family and friends that are to many to name, thank you for your prayers, love, support and donations. Wake services will be held on Saturday, June 26 and Sunday, June 27 at the Fisher River House of Prayer beginning at 7:00 p.m. Funeral will be held on Monday, June 28 at 2:00 p.m. also at the Fisher River House of Prayer with Pastor Lawrence Murdock and John Mckay officiating, interment at the Fisher River Cemetery. Beloved wife of Frederick Garnet Scowby; Loving mother of Mary Lea (Terry McConnon), Jo-Anne (Jean Daniel Eigenmann) and Jacqueline (Graham Sadler); dear grandmother of Marc-Frederic and Jennifer Lavoie, Julian, Karine and Adrian Eigenmann, Travis and Chad Sadler. Visitation will be at Collins Clarke Funeral Home, 222 Autoroute 20 (Cartier Exit 49), Pointe Claire, QC H9S 3X6 on Saturday, June 26 from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service in the chapel at 2:00 p.m. Special thanks to the caring staff at Centre D'Acceuil Denis Benjamin Viger for their care and kindness. FANNY SIMOVITCH 1914 - 2004 It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Fanny, our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother on June 18, 2004 at the Rockyview Hospital in Calgary, AB. Fanny is also survived by her sister, Laurice Gerb, of Winnipeg. Funeral services were held on Monday, June 21 at the Shaarey Zedek Cemetery in Winnipeg. WILLIAM (BILL) SPRINGER On Wednesday, June 23, 2004, Bill Springer passed away unexpectedly at the age of 89. Bill is survived by his wife Gloria; daughter Elaine Primeau and husband Don Kowalski; son Randy of Toronto; grandchildren, Jay, Tara of Nelson, BC, Natalie of Toronto; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son Wayne; and six brothers and sisters. He was employed by Canadian Bronze as a tool and die maker, rising to plant manager at the time of his retirement. He ran a home business for many years, bronzing baby shoes from across Canada. Bill was a do-it yourself kind of guy who also enjoyed inventing things until his eyesight failed. He had a wonderful sense of humour, was willing to lend a helping hand and was devoted to his family. Special thanks to the Home Care staff at ArlingtonHaus. Memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 26, 1:00 p.m., at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bill's memory to CNIB or CancerCare of Manitoba. DOLORES MARIE STEWART November 15, 1923 June 22, 2004 Peacefully on Tuesday, June 22, 2004 at Grace General Hospital. Mom's memory will be cherished by her daughter, Brenda (Mike) and daughters, Megan, Kaitlyn and Rachel; sons, Jim and children, Tori (Jeremy), Beckie (Curtis) and baby-to-be, Ryan (Carly) and Kaili (Brian); Frank (Marla) and children, Erica (Jeremy), Adam and Mason; Garry (Jane) and children, Leah, Blair and Evan; and Harvey (Oma) and children Shannon and Craig. Dodie will also be sadly missed by her sister Rita (Bob); brother Paul (Carmelle) and their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mom was predeceased by her loving husband Ross; daughter-in-law Brenda; mother Leonida and father Oswald; sisters, Aline and Therese; brothers, Oswald, Henry, Raymond, John and Marcel, along with many other relatives. Dodie will always be remembered for her never ending energy, complete love for life and dedication to her family. She was born in Val des Lacs, Quebec, married Ross and raised their five children in Flin Flon and then went on to spend their golden years together in both Winnipeg and Calgary. Mom spent her last years without Dad in Winnipeg near family and friends. We will all miss you, but take comfort knowing that you are with the love of your life. God Bless A mass, officiated by the Reverend Terance McGrath, will celebrate the life of Dolores Stewart on Wednesday, June 30 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Charles Parish, 320 St. Charles St. Assiniboia (reception to follow).
