MARY HOLUB

June 06, 2004

MARY HOLUB It is with deep sorrow we announce the passing of our precious mother, wife and grandmother on June 3, 2004. Our "Special Angel" will be dearly missed by her husband John; children, Joan (Ron), Marilyn (Don), Darlene (Vince); and grandchildren, Jackie (Jeremy), Tara, Jason, Deborah, Karen; and many nieces and nephews and dear friends. Mom was born April 7, 1919 in Winnipeg. She dedicated her entire life to caring for her family. She loved them and they love her immensely. Mom touched the lives of everyone she met, with a genuine warmth and kindness. She had such determination confronting health problems, never complaining and never giving up. A truly unselfish individual, she never thought of her own hardships but only of others' well being. Mom loved to cook and bake for her family and truly was "first class". We will forever reminisce about our wonderful family holiday dinners. One of her favourite pastimes was playing cards with family or friends and needless to say, she most often defeated us all. She truly enjoyed watching baseball and hockey with Dad. Mom and Dad had been married for sixty-two years. Before her arthritis limited her activities, she delighted in shopping trips to the States and Vegas. Many thanks to Dr. Aoki. Your special care and concern for Mom over the years meant so much to her as well as the family. Home Care Coordinator, Timmalee Thompson is to be commended for arranging excellent home care services for Mom. Special thanks to Maggie Campbell, whose kindness over the years made her a valued friend. Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be held Monday, June 7, at 3:30 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Flowers are gratefully declined. If so desired, donations may be made in her memory to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 5 Kent St., Winnipeg, MB R2L 1X3 or charity of one's choice. There is a bridge of memories, From here to Heaven above. That keeps you very close to us, It's called the 'Bridge of Love" As time goes by without you, And the days turn into years, They hold a million memories, And a thousand silent tears. To us you were so special, What more is there to say, Except we wish with all our hearts That you were here today. Rest peacefully now, Mom - We will miss you dearly. Cropo Funeral Chapel 586-8044

ALICE McLEOD

ALICE GRACE McLEOD (nee COOK) March 31, 1942 - June 3, 2004 It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, Grace McLeod at the Deer Lodge Hospital in Winnipeg, Wednesday, June 3, 2004. Grace was born in Grand Rapids, Manitoba. Grace had six children she loved dearly and she lost her oldest son in a tragic accident in 1970. She moved to Winnipeg to raise her family and was involved in an accident in 1973 that left her with many medical problems. She fought a courageous battle with her many illnesses which forced her to move into the Deer Lodge Hospital where she made her home for the past two and a half years. Grace always greeted everyone with a big smile and was a quiet gentle soul who will be sadly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her. She leaves to mourn: her children, (Jeff) Kate, Mark (Brenda), Laura, Chandler (Gail), Margaret (Marshal), and their father Kenneth McLeod Sr.; daughter-in-law Merle Cooke; and son-in-law Bliss LaVallee; her grandchildren, Vanessa, Jessica, Ashley, Angie, Anthony, Shanna, Shania, Hunter, Johnathan, Avery, Levon, Farron, Joseph, Cory, Dillon, Jodie, Mitchell, Jesse and Marcus; sisters, Marie (Oscar) Olson, Yvonne Cook, Virginia (Ralph) Arthurson, Marlyn Cook, Dorothy (Dick) Hutchinson, and Helen (Garth) Armstrong; and brothers, Solomon, Norman and John. Grace also leaves many cousins, nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews too numerous to mention. Grace was predeceased by her parents Dan and Angelique Cook; her son Kenneth Daniel (Donty); sister Audrey Sinclair; brothers, Walter, Danny and Russell; and her brother-in-law Hubert Sinclair. Wake services will be held in the Roman Catholic Hall Saturday, June 5 to Sunday June 6, 2004. Funeral service will be held on Monday June 7, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at the St. Alexander Roman Catholic Church. Interment will follow at the Roman Catholic Cemetery.
