MARGUERITE JANE BOYD Passed away at Lions Prairie Manor, Portage la Prairie, MB, on Sunday, April 11, 2004, Marguerite Boyd, aged 92 years, formerly of Gladstone. Left to mourn her passing is her daughter Shirley Howard of Portage; son Bill and Gail of Brandon, MB; seven grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 14 at 2:00 p.m. at Clarke's Funeral Chapel, Gladstone with Rev. Bob Hunter officiating. Interment will follow in the Gladstone Cemetery. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to Lions Prairie Manor, 24 - 9th Street S.E., Portage la Prairie, MB R1N 3V4, or to the Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation, 200 - 6 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6. MINTIE TOEWS BRAUN September 14, 1919- April 11, 2004 On April 11, 2004 at the age of 84 years, Mintie Toews Braun (nee Barkman) of Steinbach, passed away at the Bethesda Hospital. She will be lovingly remembered by her children: daughter Sandra (Brian); "son" Karl Zeif (Brenda), sons, Werner (Dorothy), Leonard (Edna), Peter (Sherry); daughters, Anne (Guy), Jesse (Ed) and Anita (Ralph); grandchildren, April, Ashley, Jeff, Julie, Sherri, Greg, Jody, Michelle, Melanie, Don, Jeremy, Jen, Elizabeth, Jacqueline, Noel, Crystal and Aimee; 10 great-grandchildren; brothers, Levi (Laura), Gordon (Norma), John; sisters, Rose (Jac), Shirley (Al) and Betty Anne. She was predeceased by daughter Sharon Jacqueline; her first husband Bill; her parents, Jacob R. and Helena Barkman; brothers, Harvey, Lawrence and Peter; second husband David. The family would like to express our appreciation to Dr. Wilf Kaethler and all main floor staff, especially Lynn, Herta, Wilma, and Joanne for the loving care given to Mintie. WILLIAM BYSKAL It is with sadness we announce the passing of our dearly loved husband, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, cousin and friend at the age of 58. Bill died at the Concordia Hospital on Easter Sunday, April 11, 2004 following a long and courageous battle with complications associated with diabetes. Bill will be lovingly remembered by his wife Carol; sister Mary (Mike) Kuzminski; brother Walter (Doreen) Byskal; brother-in-law Dennis (Sandy) Trubyk; sister-in-law Michele (Brian) Foster; aunts, Lena Hretzay, Nettie (Bill) Kyliuk and Rose Molaro; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Eudoxia. Bill began his working career as a welder, he joined the Operating Engineers Local 901. He was a member of the St. Anne's Ukrainian Catholic Church and a Charter member of the Knights of Columbus St. Anne's Council. Prayers will be said on Wednesday April 14 at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Voyage Funeral Home, 220 Hespeler Ave. Funeral Divine Liturgy will be held on Thursday April 15 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anne's Ukrainian Catholic Church, 455 Douglas Ave., with Rt. Rev. Canon Father Walter Klimchuk officiating. Bill's family would like to thank Dr. and Mrs. Gorski, Linda, and all the staff at the Concordia Hospital N3 west for their love and compassion over the years. Thank you to our friends at Parkside Plaza making Bills last couple of years enjoyable. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the St. Anne's Ukrainian catholic Church building fund. He will be lovingly missed and always remembered for his good nature, sense of humour, and his kind and gentle spirit. THOMAS (TOM) CALVERT It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of their beloved husband and father, Tom Calvert on Friday, April 9, 2004, at the age of 74 years at the Deer Lodge Centre. Left to celebrate his life with wonderful memories are his loving wife Phyllis of 49 years of marriage; son Robert; and daughter Gayle (Glenn); brother Allan; sisters, Eileen (Jim) and Evelyne of B.C.; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Tom and Martha Calvert. Tom was raised in Fort Rouge and from the age of 17 until his early retirement, he was employed with C.N. He was an avid outdoorsman and especially enjoyed the summers at his cottage in Malachi, ON with his family and friends. A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 17 at 11:30 a.m. in the Salvation Army Hampton Citadel, 221 Hampton St., with Pastor John and Lorelei Ruffel officiating. Our family would like to extend special thanks to the caring staff of 6E in Deer Lodge Centre. DONNA MAE DESIATNYK (nee KENNEDY) September 22, 1935 - April 12, 2004 With great sorrow, the family wishes to announce the peaceful passing of Donna (aged 68) on April 12, 2004 at Concordia Hospital. Donna is survived by her husband of 45 years, Victor and will sadly be missed by daughters, Lisa (Ray) Gladu and Darcy (Todd) Shewchuk; grandchildren, Brittany and Crystal Gladu, Nicole, Matthew and Melissa Shewchuk; and her siblings, David (Alice), Doreen (Dennis), Dennis (Emily) and sister Dale. Mom was a courageous and strong willed individual who persevered despite the odds. We are grateful for the care she received during her short time at Park Manor Personal Care Home. A memorial service will take place on Thursday, April 15 at 1:00 p.m. at Transcona Funeral Home, 1800 Day St. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Donna's memory to the Arthritis Society of Manitoba.

Shirley was predeceased by her husband Tommy; brothers, Donald and Cyril; and sister Christine. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Alana Done, Lori (Jim) Desrosiers, Randy (Sharon) Fidler and Ron Fidler; Edie, sister of Tommy, and husband Orville Marshall who were a very special and important part of her life; along with sisters, Mina Favel, Myrtle Chambers, Ruby (Harold) Sandberg, Dorothy (Irvin) Thorpe; Shirley will be missed by her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A special thank you to all the CancerCare staff for their care and support. Cremation has taken place and a private family service will take place.
