JEANINNE MARIE ELAINE DEMETRIOFF(nee VIEN) Jeaninne Marie Elaine Demetrioff (nee Vien) passed away at the Victoria Hospice on November 14, 2002. She fought a brave battle with cancer. Jeaninne was born in Fort Francis, ON, on December 29, 1947. Before settling in Victoria in 1980, Jeaninne lived in many cities before and after meeting her husband of 26 years, Dennis. Her father Joseph, her mother Emilia and her younger sister Claudette, predeceased Jeaninne. She will be remembered by her brothers, Edgar, Harvey, Arthur and Leo Pold; sisters, Solange and Doris; husband Dennis; children, Christopher and Ryan; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Memorial services will be held at Sands Funeral Chapel in Victoria on Wednesday, November 20 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, Jeaninne has requested donations to be made to any Hospice or Cancer Society.

ANNE FIERBACH It is with great sadness we announce the passing on Saturday, November 16, 2002, of Annalisa Freida Fierbach (Winther) who was born April 22, 1916 in Birch Lake, Manitoba. Predeceased by husband, Mac, in 1978; infant son, Robert; father and mother; granddaughter, Wendy; brother, Peter; and sister, Kay. Anne will always be remembered by son, Ron (Ellen), of Salt Lake City, UT, and their children, Carrie, Ronnie and Pam; son, Ivan, of Terrace, B.C.; daughter-in-law, Susan, of Barrhead and their children Lorne, Rodney and Kathryn; daughter, Marlene (and very special son-in-law Joe) of Whitecourt, AB and their children Robert, Annette (David) Cartwright and their children Katelin, Jenna and Carson of Whitecourt, AB; eleven great grandchildren; and 1 great great granddaughter, born November 14, 2002. The family would like to thank the staff at Spruceview Lodge for making the lodge a wonderful home for her. Also, thanks to the incredible staff of the Whitecourt Health Center for the tender loving care they gave her not only during the last days, but also on many occasions of the past nine and one half yeas. Memorial service will be held at the Whitecourt United Church on Saturday, November 23 at 2:00 p.m., Whitecourt. Rev. Ken Flanagan officiating with inurnment in Moosehorn, MB, at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Spruceview Lodge or the Palliative Care Centre at the Whitecourt Health Care Center and would be greatly appreciated. Cremation to follow in Park Memorial Crematorium, Edmonton.

JEAN AUDREY HANSON (WILLIAMS) Born May 24, 1925 at Edmonton, daughter of the late Charles Williams and Ella Raymer Williams. She was predeceased by her dear husband John Miller Hanson and by her dear sister Shirley Williams. The family moved to Winnipeg and Jean attended Luxton School and St. John's Tech. For many years she worked for the Winnipeg Hydro Store before marrying. They lived on Lyndale Drive and were members of Norwood United Church where Jean taught CGIT and became superintendent. She has worked tirelessly at various volunteer projects, including the Princess Elizabeth Guild. She was a member of Crescent Fort Rouge United Church after moving to the Osborne Street Village area. During the last months of her life, Jean was attended and cared for by her dearest brothers, Don Williams (Doreen) of Halifax and Jack (Donna) of Calgary. She leaves nieces, nephews and grandnieces and nephews. Also surviving are her stepson Douglas Hanson and his wife Nadia of Montreal by whom she is dearly remembered. She was beloved Grandma Jean to Kara Hanson (married to Christopher Adams) and son Benjamin of Oxford, England; and Kristen Hanson (married to Robert O'Brien) and children. Keely and Devlin of Etobicoke, ON. Also surviving is one sister-in-law Ethel Hanson of Regina, SK. Jean's life can be summed up by the words: courage, endurance, service to others. A memorial service will be held on November 21, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. at Thomson Funeral Chapels, 669 Broadway. Sleep well, beloved, take your deserved rest. THOMSON FUNERAL CHAPELS 783-7211
