Gerry was known for her positive outlook and her strong-minded, get-it-done approach (her NB family nicknamed her "The Colonel") as she accomplished so much in her family, career and hobbies while battling a painful and debilitating illness (Lupus) most of her adult life. An experimental drug treatment gave her a new lease on life and in the last 15 years of her life Gerry became a talented and prolific painter. Hundreds of family members and friends were recipients of her beautiful and detailed creations. A service in memory of Gerry will be held Monday, June 26 at 3:00 pm at Telfords Memorial in Nanaimo, BC. Gerry suggested either flowers or donations to Nanaimo's Palliative Care Unit in memory.
