Robert Henry McLean Jr. (RN)
1961-2010
It is with great sadness that the family of Rob McLean announce his passing at the Musquodoboit Hospital on Monday, July 26th at the age of 49. Born in Germany on February 18th, 1961 he was the son of Robert McLean Sr. and the Late Chrisola (MacLean) McLean
He is survived by his partner, David Murray of Musquodoboit Harbour, NS; father, Robert Sr. (Dianne) of Coles Island; brothers, Angus (Lori) of AB, Randy (Darlene) of Gagetown, Keith (Shelley) of AB and Shawn (Penny) of Saint John; niece, Ashley and Nephew, Jeffery. He was predeceased by his mother, Chrisola, in 1991.
Visitation will take place at Oromocto Funeral Home, 108 Winnebago St., on Friday, July 30th and Saturday, July 31st from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home chapel on Sunday, August 1st at 2 pm with Rev. Bob Jones officiating. Interment will be in the Gagetown United Cemetery. Lawrence Goldsbura Clattenburg
1939-2010
With great sadness we announce the death of Larry Clattenburg which occurred at the Oromocto Public Hospital on Friday, August 27th, 2010. Born in Pleasant Harbour, NS, he was the son of the late Averett and Ivy (Borgal) Clattenburg and husband of Gertrude (Leek)(Bright) Clattenburg.
Larry served in the military for 32 years, serving in Cyprus, Germany and Jamaica with the Black Watch and then with 2 RCR. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and liked to play darts, bowling and pool.
Larry is survived by his wife, Gertrude; step-son, Darren E. Bright of Cape Breton, NS; step-grandchildren, Anthony Bright of Toronto, ON, Kristina and Pamie Colpitts all of Montreal, PQ; Eric, Dominic, Elizabeth and Carlo Meffe of Laval, PQ and Breanna Clyke-Bright and Paris Bright of Cape Breton; his sisters, Elsie Grinter of Dartmouth, NS, and Norma Lindsay (William) of Dartmouth, NS as well as several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his parents; step-daughter, Angela Bright; brothers, Herbert, Curtis and Vance as well as his sisters, Sheila, Velda, Carmon, Myrtle Hilchey and Helen MacKenzie.
Visitation will be held at Oromocto Funeral Home (357-5100) on Monday, August 30th, 2010 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 93 and Black Watch Assoc. will hold a tribute service Monday at 7 pm. the funeral service will take place at the Oromocto Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, August 31st, 2010 at 2:00 pm. The Venerable John Sharpe officiating. Interment will be in St. Anthony’s Catholic Cemetery. Memorial tributes in Larry’s honor may be made to NB Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
M. Emma Burke
1919-2010
It is with great sadness that the family of Emma Burke announce her death at the Oromocto Public Hospital on Saturday, September 18th, 2010 at the age of 90. Born in Ebbsfleet, PE on October 2nd, 1919, she was the wife of the late Daniel Burke.
Emma leaves behind her sons, John (Wanda) of Sudbury, ON, Clarence (Betty) of Sault Ste. Marie, ON, Ken (Bonnie) of McAdam, Daniel Jr. (Linda) of Lincoln and Doug (Joyce) of Burton; daughters, Melvina "Sis" (Austin) McLellan of Summerside, PE and Sheila (Dick) of Lincoln; sisters, Melvina Ross of Toronto, ON, Viola Ramsay of O’Leary, PE and Cora Gallant of Minningash, PE; daughters-in-law, Lena McAcley, Mary Burke and Barb Young; son-in-law, Howard Arsenault and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, one great great grandchild and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband of 57 years, Daniel, Emma was predeceased by her parents, Adaline (Duguay) and Jim Hustler; sons, George and Billy; brothers, Henry, Jim, Les and Chester Hustler; sister, Charlotte Delaney; brothers-in-law, Austin Delaney, Harry Ramsay, Irvin Ross, Clifford Doucette and Gordon Gallant; sisters-in-law, Theresa, Rita and Millie Hustler; son-in-law, John Schwass and infant sons, Jimmie and Edward.
Emma will be remembered for her love of family. She enjoyed cooking and baking, 45's and getting together with the girls in the birthday group.
Visitation will be held at Oromocto Funeral Home, 108 Winnebago St., on Tuesday, September 21st from 4-7 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 22nd at 2 pm from St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church with Fr. Ken Weir officiating. Burial will take place on Thursday, Sept. 23rd at 11 am in the St. Francis of Assisi cemetery. In honor of Emma the family would greatly appreciate donations to her grandson Joey Burke, who is battling cancer. Donations can be forwarded to Joseph's family at 98 Fournier Road, Sault Ste. D. Reid Stewart
1954-2010
D. Reid Stewart passed away peacefully at the Oromocto Public Hospital on Saturday, 28 August 2010 after a long and courageous battle with COPD.
Born on 7 December 1954 to John (Bud) and the late Eva Frances (MacIntyre) Stewart in Campbellton, NB., Reid spend the majority of his growing up years in Dartmouth/Shearwater, NS.
Reid worked in retail management for many years, and then as a photocopier and computer technician. He most enjoyed the years he was able to spend at his motorcycle shop in Maugerville, Second Hand Cycle. There he was able to share his passion for motorcycles with his friends and customers.
Reid is survived by his father, John (Bud) Stewart, Dalhousie, NB; beloved wife of 32 years Kathy (Reid), son Johnathon (Tracy), Fredericton, NB; daughter Kimothy, Oromocto, NB; four precious grandchildren who were the light of his life: Parker Stewart (7), Juliet Sturney (5), Davis Sturney (4) and Ava Stewart (1); Sister, Dawna White (Kevin), Dartmouth, NS; Brothers-in-law Jack Reid (Daphna), Bedford, NS; Darrell Reid (Lynn) Truro, NS; Joe Reid (Diana), Brantford, ON; Greg Reid (Kate), Truro, NS; Sisters-in-law Marilyn Beattie (Jim), Saint Catharine’s, ON., Shelley Reid, Kingston, ON; Parker’s mother, Pamela Moore; several Aunts an Uncles and many loved cousins, nieces and nephews.
In addition to his mother, Reid was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Reid and Anne Stewart, maternal grandparents E.J. and Lucille MacIntyre, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Harold and Jean Reid.
A visitation will be held at Oromocto Funeral Home 7-9 pm in Tuesday, 31 August 2010 with funeral services to be held at 2:00pm on Wednesday, 1 September 2010 at the Oromocto Funeral Home Chapel, 108 Winnebago Street, Oromocto, NB.

Effie Gauvin
1912-2010
The family and friends of the late Effie Agnes (Morrissey) Gauvin would like to celebrate a wonderful life. Effie passed away on August 31st, 2010 at the age of 98 years. She was born in Grand Falls, NB on January 19th, 1912 to Jack Morrissey of Ireland and Alice (Côté) Morrissey of Rimouski, Québec. She was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Joseph Ernest Gauvin.
During most of her adult life, she lived in Gagetown and also resided in Grand Falls, Saint John and Oromocto. Having grown up on a potato farm, she learned the meaning of hard work and had a strong character. She will be remembered by her family and community as a survivor and a resilient individual who raised a large family during the depression. She was an excellent seamstress, knitter, quilt maker and a wonderful cook. Effie was employed as a custodian at the Gagetown School. She was a devote Catholic, a member of St. Bridget's Catholic Church, the CWL, the 55+ Club and an ardent volunteer who gave to her community incessantly.
She is survived by four daughters and two sons, Florence McAllister (Art) of Burton, Ernestine Beaulieu (Gerard - deceased) of Kingston, ON, Shirley Banks (Neil) of Saint John, Nora Oliver (Floyd - deceased) of Saint John, Robert of Minto (Lois McNulty of ON), Richard (Valerie Williams) of Courtwright, ON; seventeen grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren, six great-great grandchildren; one brother, Frederick Morrissey of ON and one sister, Rebecca (Becky) McNally of Saint John. She was predeceased by thirteen brothers and sisters and one grandchild.
Effie will be resting at Oromocto Funeral Home on Friday, September 3rd, 2010 from 2-6 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Oromocto on Saturday, September 4th, 2010 at 11:00 am with Fr. Ken Weir as celebrant. Interment will be in the St. Bridget's Catholic Cemetery, Gagetown with a reception to follow in St. Bridget's Catholic Church. Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, New Brunswick Division, Canadian Diabetes Association, New Brunswick Division or to the charity of the donor's choice. (357-5100)
Aubrey Earl Kean
1947-2010
The death of Aubrey Earl Kean, husband of Susan Kennedy-Kean of Burton, NB, occurred on Monday, September 6th, 2010 at the Oromocto Public Hospital. Born in Ottawa, ON, the son of the late Aubrey and Daisy (Power) Kean.
Aubrey retired in 2007 as Sergeant with the 403 Squadron after 43 years of service with the Canadian Military.
Aubrey is survived by his wife Susan; three children, Lynn Kelly Kean of Cold Lake, AB, David Kean (Wendy) of Guelph, ON, and Natasha Kean-Clark (Jason) of Calgary, AB; five brothers, Dennis Kean (Amy) of Chevrie, NS, Paul Kean (Margie) of Maitland, NS, Roy Kean (Tina) of PQ, Mark Kean (Pam) of Thunder Bay, ON and David Kean of Guelph, ON; one sister Diane Wile (Darryl) of Wolfville, NS.
There will be no visitation by request. A memorial service will take place at the Oromocto Funeral Home Chapel (108 Winnebago Street) on Thursday, September 9th, 2010 at 11 AM with Fr. Ken Weir officiating. A reception will take place at the family home, 38 Christopher Drive, Burton immediately following the memorial service. For those who wish, memorial tributes can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, the SPCA or the charity of the donors choice.
Nancy Martin
1964-2010
The death of Nancy (Coffin) Martin occurred at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital on Wednesday, September 22nd, 2010 after a courageous battle with cancer. The daughter of Donald and Shirley (Chiasson) Coffin, she was born in Glace Bay, NS, on August 21st, 1964.
In addition to her parents, Nancy is survived by her son, Chad; daughter, Jessica; and her pride and joy, her grandbabies, Tyler and Jacob. She was predeceased by her brother, Wayne.
Before her illness Nancy worked at Shopper's Drugmart in Oromocto.
