William “Bill” Clarkson Dorcas
The death of William “Bill” Clarkson Dorcas of Nashwaak Villa, Stanley occurred peacefully on Tuesday, April 22, 2003 at his residence.
Born in Williamsburg, NB, he was a son of the late Douglas and Blanche (Clarkson) Dorcas.
Bill was retired from Diamond Construction. He was a member of St. Thomas Anglican Church, Stanley, the Stanley Curling Club, and was a volunteer with Stanley Meals on Wheels. Bill was an avid Toronto Maple Leafs fan. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved visiting with family and friends. Bill and his family appreciate the kindness extended to him by Dr. Lacey and the staff at Nashwaak Villa.
He is survived by one son, Derek (Janet) Dorcas ; three daughters, Gwen (Gary) Tuttle, Brenda (Byron) Robar and Ann (Paul) Leonard; grandchildren, Jennifer (Kevin) Beatty, Mark Tuttle, Maryann Rose, Becky Robar, Heidi Robar and Kristi Robar; two great grandchildren, Ame Tuttle-Routley and Jacob Beatty; two brothers, Keith (Elizabeth) Dorcas and Gordon (Beryl) Dorcas ; three sisters, Margery (Ernest) Hay, Marion (Merle) Gullison and Ina McLean; several nieces, nephews and cousins and a dog, Bing.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton North on Thursday, April 24th . Family viewing from 1-1:30 and public from 2-4, 7-9 pm. The Funeral Service will be held from Saint Mary’s Anglican Church McEvoy St. Fredericton on Friday April 25th at 11AM with Rev. Ranall Ingalls officiating. A private burial will take place in St. Thomas Cemetery at a later date.

Katelyn Anne Marie Fleiger-Darling
The death of Katelyn Anne Marie Fleiger-Darling of Kingsley, born on January 2, 1994, daughter of John and Michelle Darling, occurred unexpectedly on Thursday, April 24, 2003 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital.
In addition to her parents, Katelyn is survived by sisters Emily, Brittany, and Chelsey; grandparents Anne and Steven McFawn, Michael Fleiger, and Carol and Russ Bennett, all of Fredericton; great grandparents John Sarty of Fredericton, and Bill and Violet McFawn of Fredericton; uncles Dustin McFawn (Jessica) and Michael Fleiger of Fredericton; aunts Angela Rowinski (Jeff) and Peggy Sue Fleiger of Fredericton, Carol Ann Boudreau (Paul) of Grand Bay, April Hawkes (Scott) of Moncton, and Tammy Darling of Fredericton; and several cousins.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton North, on Saturday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Sunday at 2:30 PM from York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel. Pastor Wes Stanley will officiate. Interment will take place at a later date in the Douglas Rural Cemetery.

Vernon Ernest Hood
The death of Vernon Ernest Hood of Fredericton, husband of Leona (Cornish) Dorcas Hood occurred on Thursday, April 24, 2003 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital.
Born in Red Rock, he was a son of the late Douglas and Margaret (MacKinnon) Hood. Mr. Hood was a retired Civil Engineer with the Department of National Defense. He was a member of the Nashwaaksis United Church, loved dancing, enjoyed golfing and was involved with his brothers in construction - Hood Bros. Ltd. Vernon was also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 4, Fredericton.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children and step-children, Cindy Buckingham (Lorne) of Kingsley, Gail Bishop (Greg) of Sudbury, ON, Janice Boyne of Windsor, ON, Michael Hood of Fredericton, Carmen Stuart (Tom) of Hanwell, Dawn Cloutier of Windsor, Val Dorcas of Halifax, Bev Stymiest of Fredericton, Ken Dorcas (Myrna) of Moncton and Bob Dorcas (Paula) of Halifax; 17 grandchildren and three great grandchildren; two brothers, Douglas Hood (Freda) of Stanley and Darrell Hood (Joan) of Red Rock; one sister, Alice Hunter (Nelson) of Astle; two sisters-in-law, Jean Hood of Stanley and Ethel Hood of Fredericton; and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife, Christine (Stewart) Hood; his second wife, Marie Olive (Bruce) Hood; one granddaughter, Loren Buckingham; two brothers, William and John Hood.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton North on Friday evening from 7 to 9 pm and Saturday from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will be held on Sunday, April 27, 2003 at 2 PM from the Nashwaaksis United Church with Rev. Franklin Curtis officiating. Interment will follow in the Fredericton Rural Cemetery.

Kelly Trina Noel Stewart (Arbeau)
The death of Kelly Trina Noel Stewart (Arbeau) of Fredericton, occurred Monday, April 21, 2003, at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital.
Born in Fredericton, she was the daughter of Eileen (Sommerville) Stewart and the late Roy Stewart.
She is survived by one son, Roy Stewart, Fredericton, NB; two daughters, Candice and Paige Stewart, Fredericton, NB; two brothers, John (Connie) Stewart, Fredericton, NB, Timmy Stewart, Fredericton, NB; one sister, Dorothy (Tony) Foscarino, Ont; one nephew, Corey Stewart; two nieces, Amanda and Connie Dawn Stewart, Fredericton, NB; one great nephew, Trystan Stewart; two great nieces, Autumn Stewart and Chelsey Marr, Fredericton, NB.
Visitation will take place on Wednesday, April 23, 2003, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Dr, Fredericton, NB. Marcienne Claire (Fairley) MacDonald
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Marcienne Claire (Fairley) MacDonald, wife of the late Dow MacDonald, of Boiestown, NB, at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital in Fredericton, NB, Wednesday, July 9, 2003.
Born in Fairley Settlement, she was the cherished daughter of the late Elva and Alberta (Ross) Fairley. She was 78.
Marcienne was employed at the De Laval Co. in Peterborough, ON for 20 years. She was a member of the Holtville United Church, United Church Women, a life member of the Womens Institute and the Eastern Star.
She will be deeply missed by her sister, Carolyn (Ron) Head of New Market, ON; her brother George (Valerie) Fairley of Boiestown; brothers-in-law Ottie Fraser of Nashwaak Bridge and Darrell Stewart of Boiestown; sisters-in-law Ila Reid of Fredericton and Jean (Ken) Fenwick of Saint John; and brother-in-law Phillip (Joanne) MacDonald of Ontario. She is also survived by one uncle, Ernest Fairley of Boiestown and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband, she was predeceased by two sisters, Vera Fraser and Erma Stewart; one brother, Robert Fairley; one niece, Keyo McAleer; and one nephew, Timmy Stewart.
Pallbearers will be nephews: Wayne Fraser, Harold Fairley, Steven Head, Troy Price, Andrew Currie, and Michael McAleer.
Visitation will take place Friday, July 11, 2003 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Miramichi Valley Funeral Home with the funeral service Saturday, July 12, 2003 at 2 pm from the Funeral Home with Rev. Heather Froats officiating. Interment to follow the service at the Nashwaak Bridge Cemetery. There will be an Eastern Star service Friday at 7 pm.
Eileen Lois Clark
The death of Eileen Lois Clark of Fredericton, wife of the late E. Bruce Clark occurred on July 7, 2003 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital.
Born in Fernmount, NB, she was a daughter of the late Leverett D. and Estella (DeGrasse) Chase.
Mrs. Clark was a member of the Gibson Memorial United Church, Fredericton and a former member of the United Church Women.
She is survived by two daughters, Donna McMillan (John) of New Maryland and Nancy Willis (Charles) of Pierrefonds, QC; two sons, Lawrence Clark & special friend Carol Ann of Fredericton and James Clark (Mary) of Halifax, NS; seven grandchildren; three sisters, Leona Betts (Freeman) of Fredericton, Madeline Johnston of Calgary, AB and Reta Hatfield of Vancouver Island; one brother, Franklin Chase (Sonia) of Abbottsford, BC; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two brothers, Vaughan and Reginald Chase.
Although there will be no visitation, family and friend are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Friday, July 11 at 11 am from York Funeral Home ’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, with Rev. Mac Campbell officiating. Interment will be in the Sunny Bank Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances to the Canadian Diabetes Association, the Canadian Cancer Society, or to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
Edward Alexander Doane
The death of Edward Alexander Doane of White’s Cove, husband of the late Bertie M. (Allen) Doane, occurred on Saturday, July 5, 2003 at York Manor.
Born in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, he was the son of the late Edward and Ora R. (Shaw) Doane. Mr. Doane formerly owned and operated D & M Auto Body, and was a member of the Jemseg Baptist Church. He is survived by a daughter, Elaine Murdoch (Robert) of Fredericton; two sons, Edward A. Doane (Elsie) of Dartmouth, NS and Frank L. Doane (Joan) of Brockville, Ontario; a sister, Carolyn Frizell of Nova Scotia; a half sister, Ella Porter (Rev. Doug) of Nova Scotia; 11 grandchildren; several great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Mr. Doane was predeceased by a daughter, Ora Johnston; and by a brother, Beryl Doane.
Although there will be no visitation, relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service, which will be held on Monday at 2:00 PM from the Jemseg Baptist Church. Rev. Jennifer Ann Douglass
The death of Jennifer Ann Douglass of Fredericton, wife of Kevin Douglass, occurred peacefully on Sunday, July 6, 2003 at her cottage at Maquapit Lake, following a brief illness.
Born in Chipman, she was the daughter of Alexander and Evelyn (Smith) Morrrison. Jennifer owned and operated Elmcroft Place Bed and Breakfast. Decorating gave her great pleasure, as she furnished her stately home with period pieces acquired as she explored the world of antiques. Jennifer also enjoyed flower gardening at her home, and was a loving wife and mother.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her parents of Chipman; three sons, Steven, Mark, and Robert, all of Fredericton; a brother, William (Billy) Morrison (Irene) of Saint John; sisters Sheila Bishop (Brent) of Fredericton, Heather Fidler (Bruce), Edith McGinnis (Donnie) and Theresa Morrison (Paul Lamb), all of Chipman, and Patricia Hopkins (Williard) of Fredericton; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton North, on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 2:00 PM from the Chipman United Church. Interment will take place in the Red Bank Cemetery, Chipman. Mary Stephania Konefal
The death of Mary Stephania Konefal of Fredericton, and formerly of Thunder Bay, Ontario, wife of the late Stanley Konefal, occurred on Saturday, July 5, 2003 at the Nashwaak Villa, Stanley.
Born in Kenora, Ontario, she was the daughter of the late Nickolas and Julia Sobiski. She is survived by her son, Carl Konefal (Sonia) of Fredericton; her daughter, Shirley Luiz of Vancouver, BC; a brother, Walter Sobiski of Kenora; a sister Adella Peloquin, also of Kenora; grandchildren Kathryn (Tobey) Clark, Robert (Monica) Konefal, David Konefal, Carol Corda and Robin Corda; five great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Mary was predeceased by five brothers and a sister.
Although there will be no visitation time, relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service which will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 AM from York Funeral Home’s T. Gerald Douglas Murray
The death of Gerald Douglas Murray of Lakeville Corner, husband of Florence (Randall) Murray, occurred on Friday, July 4, 2003 at the W. G. Bishop Nursing Home, Minto.
Born in Fredericton, he was the son of the late Robert and Etta A. (Mills) Murray. Mr. Murray was a machine operator with the Department of Transportation for 22 years, and worked for Acadia Forestry Station until 1967. He was also employed as a truck driver and mill worker. Mr. Murray had a great sense of humour and enjoyed games like bingo.
In addition to his wife of 56 years, Mr. Murray is survived by two sons, Dale Murray (Debbie) of Milton, ON, and Malcolm Murray (Gloria) of Lakeville Corner; two daughters, Phyllis Stafford (Jerry) of Ripples and Lorraine Jones (Steven) of Fredericton; grandchildren Robert Stafford, Loretta Martin, Tammy Murray, Walter Murray, and Wendy Jones-Ebbett; great grandchildren Ryan and Mitchel Ebbett, Cassandra and Nancy Martin; a brother, George Murray (Stella) of Maquapit Lake; two sisters, Dora Armstrong (Bill) of Waasis and Mildred Lewis (Bob) of Fredericton; two sisters-in-law Faye Murray of Maquapit Lake and Jean Murray of Fredericton; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Murray was predeceased by three brothers, Leslie, Myles, and Russell; and by two sisters Louise Murray and May Maston.
