Idella (Della) Lee

Idella (Della) Lee, 85 of Maple Hill Manor, New Waterford and formerly of 2 School St., River Ryan, died Thursday, Nov. 7, 2002, at the manor.

Born in Lingan, she was the daughter of the late James and Mary (Kelly) Lee. She was a member of St. Michael's Church, River Ryan. Upon graduating from teachers college she taught for 45 years at the River Ryan, Lingan, Gardiner and finally Mount Carmel School. Della had a keen interest in society and political affairs and she enjoyed following up on the lives of former students.

She is the last surviving member of her immediate family.

She is survived by one daughter, Brenda (Mrs. Parker MacDonald), Sydney; one granddaughter, Lisa; nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by one brother, Leonard; two sisters, Mary Burns and Lillian.

Visitation took place Friday at the V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, New Waterford (862-6439). Funeral mass will be today (Saturday) 2 p.m. in St. Michael's Church, Fr. Donald MacGillivray officiating. Burial in the parish cemetery. Reception to follow at the Gaul Centre.

As an expression of sympathy for Della, donations may be made to Maple Hill Manor or the N.S. Alzheimer Society.

Evelyn H. Taylor

The death of Evelyn H. Taylor, widow of Silas Taylor, occurred after a brief illness at the Moncton Hospital on Thursday November 7th 2002. Born in Windsor Forks, Nova Scotia on November 5th 1918 she was the daughter of the late Judson and Mary (Phinney) Shaw.

In 1937 she married Silas Taylor and moved to Moncton to run the Avon Greenhouses on Floral Avenue in Lewisville. She was a member of the Lewisville United Baptist Church, the W.M.S. , and the Gideons. She taught Sunday School for many years and sang alto in the Senior Choir. Evelyn served as the Eastern Representative of the Gideons Auxiliary for many years. Evelyn will be lovingly remembered by her family.

She is survived by her children Bill (Kay) Taylor of Moncton, Lorella (Mike) Connelly of California, Mary (Howard) Parlee of McKees Mills and Dr. Bob(Suzanne) Taylor of Vancouver, seven grandchildren Cathy (Ron) Atkinson; Rob (Cheryl) Taylor; Jennifer (Mike) Belong, Justine VanSpyk; Dana Van Spyk; Andrew (Tracey) MacPherson and Heather (James) Hynes and eleven great grand children.

In addition to her parents and her husband she was predeceased by a son-in-law John MacPherson.

Following cremation a Memorial Service will be held at the Lewisville United Baptist Church Monday November 11th at 2 pm. With a reception to follow in the church hall. Interment will be in Fairhaven Memorial Gardens.

Donations made to the Sharing Way or the Gideons would be appreciated by the family.

Mullin Georgina

MULLIN, GEORGINA - Passed away at Pine Grove Nursing Home, Fredericton, NB on Tuesday, November 5th, 2002 at the age of 93. Born in Glasgow, Scotland, January 9th, 1909.

She moved to Canada in 1930 and resided in Morrisdale, Kings Co, before moving to Pine Grove Nursing Home in Fredericton.

Georgina is survived by two daughters, Doreen Mazerall of Fredericton, Sylvia and husband James Andrews of Belleville Ontario. She will be sadly missed by her five grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Georgina was predeceased by her husband Harold and her two grandchildren Dora Mazerall Ferguson and Randy Mazerall.

Resting at Castle "Fallsview" Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Avenue, West Saint John, NB (506-634-1701) from where the visitation will be held on Friday from 1-4 pm only. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, November 9th, 2002 at 10 am at St. Augustine's Church, Westfield, NB. The interment will follow in the adjoining cemetery.

Donations to the NB Heart & Stroke Foundation or charity of the donors' choice would be appreciated by the family.

Margaret A. Joudrey

Joudrey, Margaret A. - At the Saint John Regional Hospital, on Sunday, November 3, 2002; Margaret Adelia (Scribner) Joudrey, wife of the late Alvin Wood Joudrey. Born in Rothesay, NB she was the daughter of the late Arnold Ross and Emma Adelia (Carpenter) Scribner.

Margaret was a member of St. David's United Church in Rothesay, NB.

Margaret is survived by her sons, James A.G. (Jimmy), wife Ruth of Oak Point, NB, Gerald A. (Gerry) and fiance Karen of Chipman, Ralph K. and wife Cathy of Quispamsis, Vance F. of Quispamsis; daughter Ellen Adelia Collins and husband R. Douglas of Gondola Point; brothers Everett of Kingston, NB, George and wife Jean of Penobsquis, NB; one sister, Nellie Novello (murt) Burnside and husband Arthur (Art) of Rothesay, NB; ten grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Margaret was predeceased by sisters Helen Elizabeth (Betty Healey and brother Golden.

Resting at Castle "King's Chapel" Funeral Home, 154 Old Hampton Road, Rothesay, NB (506-849-1702) from where the service will be held in the chapel on Wednesday, November 6, 2002 at 3:00 pm. The interment will follow in Rothesay Baptist Cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home will be on Tuesday from 2-4, 7-9 and on Wednesday from 2 until service time.

Donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetic Association, Kennecasis Girl Guides of Canada or Scouts Canada or the charity of the donor's choice.

Paul. E. Chapman

Chapman, Paul. E. - At he Saint John Regional Hospital, on Monday, November 4, 2002. Paul Everett Chapman, husband of Judy (Patterson) Chapman of Quispamsis, NB. Born in Fredericton NB, he is the son of Myrna (Aube) Pennell (Garnet) of Saint John, NB and the late Philip Chapman.

Paul worked for Fundy Honda. He pastored at Cornhill United Baptist Church for a number of years and did his pastoral studies at ABU and NBBI. Paul was a member of Kennebecasis United Baptist Church and will be remembered as a man who dearly loved his Lord.

Surviving in addition to his wife Judy and mother Myrna, are his daughter Kimberlee Chapman of New York State, Melanie Crowley and her husband Gary of Grand Bay, NB, sister Patti Healey (Shawn) of Halifax, brother Philip Chapman of Sypher's Cove, Grand Lake, NB, Peter of Fredericton, cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family.

A service of remembrance will be held on Friday, November 8, 2002 at 2:00 PM at Kennebecasis United Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 p.m. until service time. A reception will immediately follow in the church hall. The interment of ashes will take place at Fernhill Cemetery at a later date.

Remembrances or donations may be made to the Christian ministries of their choice.

Arrangements are in care of Castle "Kings Chapel" Funeral Home, 154 Old Hampton Road, Rothesay, NB (506- 649-1702).

Judith Lynne MacDonald

Judith (Judy) Lynne MacDonald age 59, of Amherst died suddenly on Saturday, November 02, 2002 at the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Amherst.

Born in New Glasgow, she was a daughter of Stella (Sharpe) MacDonald of Fort Lawrence, Cumberland Co. and the late James MacDonald.

Judy was a member of the Crossroads Gospel Temple, Amherst.

She is survived by two sons Colin Brown Jr. of Prince Edward Island and Christopher MacDonald of Truro, one daughter Lisa Brown of Montreal, one sister Heather MacDonald (Murray) of Halifax and one brother James 'Bud' (Sharon) of Vancouver, B.C., six grandchildren, one niece and her long time care giver Donnie Steeves.

Judy was predeceased by a son Mike Brown and grandson Ryan.

Her remains are resting at Campbell's Funeral Home, 98 Church St., Amherst with visiting on Sunday and Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 2 p.m. from Crossroads Gospel Temple, Amherst with Rev. Russell Knowles officiating.

Donations in Judy's memory may be made to the M.S. Society.

Interment will take place in the Amherst Cemetery.

Verna Marie Mabee

Verna Mabee of Lefurgey Residence and formerly of Cameron Street, passed away at the Moncton Hospital on Friday, November 1, 2002. Born in Calhoun, NB on December 14th, 1905, she was the daughter of the late Frank T. and Minetta C. (McFaden) Atkinson.

Verna was a faithful member of Wesley Memorial United Church and a Life Member of the United Church Women. She was an avid volunteer for the Red Cross and YMCA during World War II and was a Life Member of the Westmorland Historical Society.

She is survived by daughter-in-law Joan Mabee; granddaughters; Diane E. Mitton of Riverview and Catherine J. M. Mabee of Kingston Ont.; great grandson Mark Raymond Mitton, two cousins ; Dorothy Doak of Bai d'Urfe, Que, and Nora McFadden of Moncton.

In addition to her parents, Verna was predeceased by her husband Leonard Travis (1964) and her only son Karl Raymond (1992) brothers; Earl and Kenneth and a sister Frances.

By request there will be no visitation prior to the Memorial service to be held on Thursday, November 7th at 2 PM in Wesley Memorial United Church. A reception will follow in the church hall.

Memorial donations in memory of Verna may be made to the charity of your choice. Interment in Hampton Rural Cemetery.
