Gerald H. Spencer

Gerald H. Spencer 73, of Lakeview Manor, Riverview and formerly of McKees Mills passed away at his residence on Sunday April 8, 2001.

Born in Beersville, Gerald was the son of the late Harry and Blanche (Beers) Spencer.

Gerald was a former employee of the T. Eaton Co. Ltd. And the Beersville Coal Fields. A member of McKees Mills United Baptist Church and served the church and cemetery in various duties in past years.

Gerald will be sadly missed by his wife of thirty eight years, Anne (Hicks) Spencer. Step-Daughter, Eileen Hicks (Dwayne), McKees Mills. Grandchildren, David, Vancouver, BC. Kevin, McKees Mills. Kim Savoie (Vince), McKees Mills. Great Grandchildren, Devan, Joeleen. Sister, Edna Fahey, Beersville. Several Nieces and Nephews.

Predeceased by one sister, Myrtle MacLean.

Resting at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton. Visitation Tuesday 7-9. Funeral Service at MvKees Mills United Baptist Church, Wednesday April 11, 2001, 2pm, Rev. Wayne Hagerman, Rev. Winston Parks officiating. Interment in Hillside Cemetery, McKees Mills.

In Gerald’s memory, donations may be made to McKees Mills United Baptist Church Building Fund at 525-9591 or the memorial of your choice would be appreciated by his family.

Rita Marie Goguen

July 5, 2001

Rita Marie Goguen, 79, of Notre Dame, passed away at her residence on Thursday July 5,2001. Born in Moncton she was the daughter of the Late Placide and Annie Marie (Meunier) Cormier.

Rita was a member of the Notre Dame Du Sacre Coeur Catholic Church, Notre Dame and was an avid bingo player.

Rita will be sadly missed by her Husband Joseph, Daughters; Corinne Cormier (Emile), Marguerite Cormier (Henry) Sons; Pat, Antoine, John (Maria) all of Notre Dame, Grandchildren; Pauline Goguen, Joanne Goguen, Nicole Cormier, Diane Cormier, Placide Cormier, Sisters; Mary Doiron, Moncton, Eva Drisdelle , Gardner, Mass. USA, Irene Caissie, Irishtown, Brothers; Edmund (Rita), Irishtown, Ulysse (Florence), Wisner.

Rita was predeceased by sister Melendie Richard, brothers; Arthur, Emile, Herve, Alfred.

Resting at the Notre Dame Du Sacre Coeur Catholic Church slumber room, Notre Dame. Visitation Sunday July 8,2001, 2-4,7-9. Funeral Mass at Notre Dame Du Sacre Coeur Catholic Church Monday July 9,2001, 10 am, Rev. Yvon Arsenault Officiating. Reception following the mass in the church basement. Interment in the church cemetery.

In Rita’s memory donations made directly to the Dr. George Dumont Foundation at 862-4225 or the Canadian Cancer Society at 859-6977 would be appreciated by her family.

Lloyd H. Hicks

Lloyd Harris Hicks, 65, of Kay St., Salisbury passed away at the Moncton Hospital on Wednesday June 6,2001 after a brief illness.

Born in Moncton, Lloyd was the son of the late Harry and Lilly (West) Hicks, a member of the Moncton Wesleyan Church and retired from CNR as a Carman after 28 years service.

Lloyd will be sadly miss by his wife Irma Georgina (Horsman) Hicks, Daughters; Gail LeBlanc (Donald) and Sheilla Colpitts (Brian) both of Moncton, Darlene Richardson (David), Riverview, Sons; Patrick (Lise), Lakeville, Calvin (Michael-Ann), Salisbury, Robin (Lorraine), Colpitts Settlement, Kevin (Amy) Edmunton, Alberta, ten Grandchildren, three Step-Grandchildren, Sisters; Iona Milton (Gerald), Albert Mines, Leta Ward (David), Moncton, several Nieces and Nephews.

Lloyd was predeceased by Sister Grace Cameron, Brothers Harry, Hardy.

Funeral service from Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home Chapel, Saturday June 9,2001, 11:00 am, Dr. Laurel Buchingham officiating. Reception following the service. Interment at Horsman Cemetery, Lutes Mountain.

Margaret Ann Holmden

May 25, 2001

Margaret Ann Holmden, 50, of Riverview passed away at the Moncton Hospital on Friday May 25, 2001.

Born in Dundas, Margaret was the daughter of Thomas and Mildred (Wilt) Holmden of Berryton.

Margaret was employed as verification specialist at Superannuation Branch, Shediac, was a former member of the Beaver Curling Club, former bowler at Fairlanes and formerly played Ladies Softball in Moncton.

Besides her parents, Margaret will be sadly missed by her daughter, Chantel Ann Sauliner, Moncton.

Sister, Helen Kendrick (Leslie), Berryton. Brothers, Bill, Riverview; Jim(Patti), Chuck(Ysola), Moncton; Hartley(Linday), Turtle Creek. Aunts, IdaComeau(Norman), Helen Fram, Moncton; Olga Geddes, Irishtown Uncles, Eugene Wilt(Rowena), Bass River Point; Robert Wilt, Moncton. Several Nieces, Nephews, and cousins.

Jenica Belle Saulnier

February 23, 2000 - June 1, 2001

Jenica Saulnier, 15 months, of Moncton passed away peacefully Friday June 1,2001 at the I.W.K. Health Centre, after a very courageous battle with a rare type of leukemia.

Born February 23,2000 in Moncton she was the daughter of Tim and Andrea (Melanson) Saulnier. Jenica was a smart, beautiful little girl who loved to smile, clap her hands and wave “bye”. She brought joy to all those who knew her.

Jenica will be sadly missed by her parents, three brothers, T.J., Jason and Nicholas, her maternal grandparents, Arnold and Eleanor Melanson of Truro, NS, her paternal grandparents, Jean Paul and Dinah Saulnier, Moncton, Aunts and Uncles, Nadine Melanson and Garnet McKeen, Sault Ste. Marie, ON, Terry and Lea Saulnier of Cape-Pele, Guy and Loretta Saulnier , Cambridge, ON, Randy and Karen Saulnier, Cambridge, ON, Ron and Anne Saulnier, Moncton, Tina (Saulnier) and Reg Murray, Shediac Cape, Bob and Judy Saulnier, Moncton, Great grandparents, George and Marin Frail, Centerville, NS and Fred and Irene Melanson, Amherst, NS, 15 Cousins and many great Aunts, Uncles and Second cousins.

Private family services were held from Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday June 5,2001 with Rev. Peter McKee officiating.

The family would like to extend a big Thank-You to the entire team on 6 NORTH at the IWK Health Centre in Halifax. The care and support you have all provided not only to Jencia but also her entire family over the past 15 months has been truly amazing. We will never forget the huge part of our lives you’ve all become. Words cannot express the gratitude we feel.

At the request of the family, donations to the IWK Health Centre or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.

William (Bill) L. Connors, 71, passed away at the Moncton Hospital, Friday August 10,2001 after a courageous battle with cancer. Passed Business Agent at Plumber & Pipefitter’s Union Local # 694, Co-Owner of Ribbons & More, Active with the Acme Group & Standard Bread Horses for many years and attended St. Augustine’s Catholic Church. Bill will be sadly missed by his Wife Karon (Campbell), 1st wife Doris (Gallant) Connors, Moncton, Daughters, Maureen Reade (Bruce), Coleen Robichaud (Charles), Kelly Connors, Moncton, Rheanne Gautreau (Kevin Roberts), Irishtown, Sons; Mark (Carla), Dan (Patti), Terry (Roxanne), Brian, Moncton, Derrick Steeves (Sandra), Trenton, ON, Duane Steeves, Campbellville, ON, Grandchildren; Kyle Reade, Timmy, Joshua, Trevor, Samantha, Michael, Chelsea, Erin Connors, Justin, Gabrielle Robichaud, Mykel, Tyera, Tatyjanna, D’Artagan Steeves, Savannah Roberts, Brother Ralph Connors (Bernice), Moncton, Niece & Nephews; Patrick, Thomas, Kathy, Margaret, Shiela, Erin, Sean.
