Myrtle B. Renton

Myrtle B. Renton 87 of People’s Park Tower and formerly of Mapleton Road, Moncton passed away at the Moncton Hospital on Tuesday January 1, 2002. Born in Hildergarde, Myrtle was the daughter of the late Frank and Mabel (Keith) Horsman. Myrtle was a former employee of the Moncton Wandlyn Motor Inn and Magnetic Hill Enterprises Ltd., member of Parkside Baptist Church, Parkside Baptist Church Seniors Group, People’s Park Tower Helping Hands Group and former member of Parkside Church W.M.S.

Myrtle will be sadly missed by her daughters; Noreen Cooper (Glen), Wheaton Settlement, Eleanor Renton, Moncton: 10 Grandchildren: 16 Great Grandchildren: sisters, Ruby Renton, Moncton: Addie Searle, Kingston, ON: brothers, Frank Horsman, Sarnia, ON: Harold Horsman (Elida), Moncton: several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband, James (Jim) Renton (1994), Daughter, Joyce: Sisters, Marjorie, Evelyn, Thelma, Doris.

Visitation at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) Wednesday 7-9. Funeral Service at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home Chapel Thursday January 3, 2002, 11am, Rev. Cheryl MacFadyen officiating. Refreshments following the service. Interment, Fair Haven Cemetery. In Myrtle’s memory those wishing may make donations to the Kidney Foundation of Canada (1-877-453-0533), Friends of the Moncton Hospital (857-5488) or memorial of your choice would be appreciated by her family.

Blanche B. (Welsh) Horton

Blanche B. (Welsh) Horton 86, of Spencer Memorial Home and formerly of Verdun St., Moncton passed away at her residence on Saturday December 29, 2001. Born in Patterson, N.J., she was the daughter of the late Robert and Rachel (Wolfe) Nugent. Blanche was a member of Central United Church, former member of the U.C.W. within the church, the Girl Guides, YMCA & YWCA, and board member of the VON.

Blanche will be sadly missed by her Daughters, Patsy Fitzgerald (Wayne), Ottawa, ON: Mary Fletcher (Art), London, ON: Son, Tom Welsh (Roberta), Halifax: Grandchildren, Lori Hawley (Earl), Lisa Welsh, Suzanne Fletcher, James Fletcher (Tracie): Great Grandchildren, Daniel Fletcher, Marin Hawley: Several Nieces and Nephews. Predeceased by her Husbands, Frederick Welsh (1970), William Horton (2001): Sisters, Edith Clark, Ruth Lewis: Brothers, Jack, Robert and Lloyd Nugent.

Sandy MacLean officiating, reception following the service. Interment, Elmwood Cemetery. Ashley C. Smith
1988-2007

Ashley C. Smith, 19, beloved daughter of Herb Gorber and Coralee (Cusack) Smith of Moncton passed away on Friday, October 19, 2007. Born in Summerside, PE, Ashley enjoyed reading, painting, swimming, kayaking, bicycling, and had great love for her special four legged companion “Breau”.

Besides her parents, Ashley will be sadly missed by her sister, Dawna Ward, Dartmouth; nieces and nephews, Corey, Jessica, Emmalee and Jordan; special friend, Jessica Fair; special aunts and uncles, Pam and George Cusack, Deanna and Bud Mitton, Moncton.

Visitation at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Rd., Moncton (858-1995), Thursday, 7 to 9. Funeral Service at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home Chapel, Friday, October 26, 2007, 1:30pm, Mr. David Way officiating. Reception following the service. Interment, Elmwood Cemetery.

Reginald M. Weatherby
1928-2007

Reginald M. Weatherby 79, of Protem Health Services, Moncton, passed away peacefully at his residence on Tuesday October 23, 2007. Born in St. Stephen, he was the son of the late William and Hilda (Forsyth) Weatherby. Reg was retired from N.B. Tel (1988) with over 40 years service. He was affiliated with Maritime Harness Racing Association and was a member of Victoria Lodge # 26 F & AM for over 50 years.

Reg will be missed by his daughters: Victoria Kay (John), Ottawa, ON; Kim Weatherby (John Moynan), Victoria, BC: Son; Ross (Clare), Sault Ste Marie, ON: Grandchildren; Bryenne, Missy, Christopher, Katrina; The mother of his children Lois Weatherby, Moncton; Dear Friend Mary McKinley, Moncton; Sister Jane Corbett, Ottawa, ON. Besides his parents, Reg was predeceased by brothers Phillip and Clayton, sister Dorothy.

In keeping with Reg’s wishes there will not be any visitation prior to the funeral service to be held at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home Chapel, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995), Saturday October 27, 2007 at 11am. Rev. Aaron Billard officiating. Reception following the service. Interment, Fair Haven Memorial Gardens.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Protem Health Services for their care and kindness during the past year while Reg was a resident there.

For those who wish, remembrances made to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated by the family.

Juanita J. Scott
1937-2007

Juanita J. Scott, 70, of Moncton, with members of her family at her side passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital, on Monday, October 22, 2007. Born in Gallagher Ridge, she was the daughter of the late Ottis and Annie (Green) Price. Juanita was a retired Administrative Assistant at the Moncton Salvation Army and was a member of Lutes Mountain Church of the Nazarene. Juanita was an avid volunteer worker for many organizations, enjoyed cross stitching, visiting with her relatives in the United States and spending quality time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Juanita will be sadly missed by her son, Bradley Scott; grandchildren, Ashley, Cynthia, Sheldon and Amber; sister, Marlah Hoganson (Gerry), Gallagher Ridge; brother, Gerald (Gerry) Price (Beverly), Gallagher Ridge; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Vincent Scott (1977); daughter, Sharla-Dawn (2002); granddaughter, Brandy-Ann (1996); brothers, Gordon and Aubrey; sister, Eleanor.

Nina H. Hennigar

Nina H. Hennigar 87, of Moncton with her loving family by her side, passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Saturday October 20, 2007. Born in Havelock, she was the daughter of the late Carrie Melvin. Nina was retired from Co-Op Farm Services and was a member of Havelock Baptist Church. She was a member of The Moncton Ladies Bowling League, was an avid bowler, enjoyed reading, knitting, crocheting, had a passion for curling and was a sports enthusiast.

Nina will be sadly missed by her daughter, Eleanor Mullins (Red), Moncton; son, Darreyl (Brenda), Winnipeg, MB; grandchildren, Sheri Mullins, Moncton; Melissa and Nathan Henniger, both of Winnipeg, MB: Predeceased by her brother, Gerald Melvin; sister, Ann Green. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

In keeping with Nina’s wishes, there will be no visitation. Private family Graveside Service will be held at Elmwood Cemetery: Rev. Jim Hannah officiating.

Dorothy M. Capson

Dorothy M. Capson 83, of Moncton with her loving family at her side, passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Friday October 19, 2007. Born in Souris, PE, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Emily (Murdock) Poole. Dorothy was a former employee of Zellers Ltd., Main St. Moncton, with 19 years service, she attended Lewisville Baptist Church, life member of the WMS and member of the Keen Agers Senior’s Group. Dorothy enjoyed gardening, cross stitching, knitting, word puzzles, watching sports on television and had a great sense of humor but most important was her love for her family.

Dorothy will be sadly missed by her daughter, Debby Coates (Gary), Moncton; son, Gary (Cecile), Indian Mountain; several nieces and nephews: She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, William L. Capson (1986); sister, Mary; brothers, Almond, Kenneth, George and Harry.

Georges Navaux
2007-2007

Georges J.M. Navaux, 89, long term resident of Riverview passed away peacefully at The Moncton Hospital on Tuesday October 16, 2007 with his children at his side. Born in Falaen, Belgium he served in the Royal Belgium Air Force as a pilot. He was interned as a P.O.W. in late 1941 for helping the underground. He immigrated to Canada in 1950 and in 1954 joined the Canadian Army Medical Corps subsequently serving in Camps Borden, Aldershot, Valcartier and Gagetown. He was discharged in 1957 when he joined the Department of Health & Welfare from which he retired in Halifax in 1982.

Georges is survived by his daughter, Betty of Canning, NS; his son, John (Donna) of Moncton; a brother, Charles of Thuir, France; grandfather to Robert MacLellan, Susan Smith, Dean and Tricia (Wetterberg) and great grandfather to Kyle and Madison Smith and Benjamin Wetterberg. Predeceased by his wife of 64 years, Suzanne in 2004, great grandson, Jeffrey in 2002, sister, Madeleine Cocquart, Hirson, France in 2007.

In keeping with Georges' wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the IWK or Jeffrey Navaux Memorial Fund.

Elizabeth (Betty) Wilson
1968-2007

Elizabeth (Betty) Wilson, 39, of Moncton, passed away at The Toronto General Hospital on Friday, September 21, 2007 after a lengthy illness with lung complications. Born in Moncton, Betty was the daughter of the late Joseph and Joan (Mullin) Wilson.

Betty will be sadly missed by her brothers and sisters, Starr Melanson (Walter), Joey Wilson (Lucy), Bobby Wilson (Grace), Penny Wylie (Ernie), Heather Jacques (Greg O’Brien), Patty Roach (Tim), David Wilson (Sharon), Elly Wilson (George Gerrior), Tim Wilson, Debbie Brewer (John), Evelyn Young and special grandmother, Ida Donovan; and many special nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, James Wilson.

Interment will take place at Steeves Mountain Cemetery on Saturday, October 20, 2007, 3 pm, followed by a celebration of Betty’s life to be held at the Sunny Brae Legion #54, Moncton at 6:00 pm, with a Pot Luck Supper.

In Betty’s memory, donations to Friends of the Moncton Hospital, Toronto General Hospital or the Civiton Group of Toronto in support of patients waiting for lung transplant.
