Deveau, Lester John
Unexpectedly, at his residence on Feb. 17, 2009, Lester John Deveau, husband of Myrtle (Watson) Deveau, of Blacks Harbour, N.B. Born at Salmon River, N.S., on May 30, 1926, he was a son of the late Benjamin and Madeline (Doucett) Deveau.
A loving husband, father, grandfather and brother, in addition to his loving wife, Myrtle, he is survived by two daughters: Joyce (Beecher) Hawkins and Cheryl (Ronald) MacVicar, both of Pennfield, N.B., two sons: Harold Deveau, of Blacks Harbour, N.B., and Roger (Kelly) Deveau, of Pennfield, N.B.; nine grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; two sisters: Frances Deveau, of Halifax, N.S., and Margaret Trenholm, of Saint John, N.B.; one brother, Everett Deveau, of Weymouth, N.S.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by five brothers: Wilfred, Herbert, Wallace, Bernard and Henry; and one sister, Irene.
Prior to his retirement, Lester worked as a custodian at Blacks Harbour School for 29 years. He loved woodcrafts and carpentry work and enjoyed cooking.
Rested at the St. George Funeral Home & Crematorium, 26 Portage Street, St. George, N.B., with visiting held on Wednesday.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held from the Stella Maris Roman Catholic Church, Blacks Harbour, N.B., on Thursday, Feb. 19, 2009 at 12 noon, with Father John Ighacho officiating.
The interment will take place at the church cemetery in the spring.
In Lester’s memory, donations to the NB Heart & Stroke Foundation or to a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
Morrison, Doris Ruby
At Lincourt Manor, St. Stephen, N.B., Feb. 21, 2009, Doris Ruby (Woodard) Morrison, of Oak Bay, N.B.; wife of Kenneth F. Morrison.
Survived by her husband, Ken; one son, Wilfred (Helen) Morrison, of Old Ridge, N.B.; two daughters, Sandra Allaby (Bob), of Saint John, N.B., and Susan Zaremba (Peter), of Hiram, Me; eight grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, one sister, nieces and nephews.
Resting at The S.O. Mehan & Son Funeral Home Ltd., 23 Main Street, St. Stephen, N.B., from where funeral service will be held Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2009 at 11 a.m.
Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home Tuesday, Feb. 24, from 2–4 and 7–9 p.m.
Interment at the Oak Bay Rural Cemetery, Oak Bay, N.B.

Armstrong, Bruce W.
Bruce W. Armstrong, born in Blacks Harbour, N.B., April 8, 1955, passed away after a lengthy illness, at the Soldiers Memorial Hospital, Orillia, Ont., on Jan. 13, 2009; son of Phyllis Murphy (Armstrong), Lake Utopia, N.B., and the late William Armstrong, Fredericton, N.B.
He is survived by his son, Clifford Armstrong, Orillia, Ont., and daughter, Lisa Armstrong, Orillia, Ont.; sister, Nancy Armstrong, St. Andrews, N.B.; brothers, Dennis Armstrong, Lake Utopia, N.B., and Mark Armstrong (Jamie), Fredericton, N.B.; and special friend, Kim Robinson.
Camick, Daniel Cordell
At the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen, N.B., on April 13, 2009, Mr. Daniel Cordell Camick, of Leonardville, N.B. Born at St. Stephen, N.B., on April 21, 1958, he was a son of the late Howard and Kathryn (Rogerson) Camick.
A loving brother, uncle and nephew, he is survived by his brother, Carl (Anne) Camick, of Leonardville, N.B.; one sister, Glenda (Garnett) Green, of Fairhaven, N.B.; one aunt, Hazel Justason, of Richardson, N.B.; one niece, Katrina (Timmy) Martin, of Richardson, N.B.; one nephew, Brendan (Colleen) Green, of Leonardville, N.B.; great- niece, Ashley Green, and greatnephews, Jared Green and Hayden Martin, as well as several cousins.
He was predeceased by his parents, Howard and Kathryn Camick.
Daniel had a caring heart and enjoyed life. He loved going for drives and talking to people he met on the way.
Rested at the Leonardville Church of Christ, Deer Island, N.B., from where the service was held on Thursday, April 16, 2009 at 2 p.m., with Rev. Joel Bridges officiating.
Interment followed the service at the Fairhaven Community Cemetery at Calder’s Head.
Visiting was held at the church on Wednesday.

Raymont, Alice Marie
Alice Marie Raymont died peacefully on Easter Monday, April 13, 2009 at the Charlotte County Hospital in St. Stephen, N.B., in the company of her daughter and son-in-law. Born March 29, 1935, she was the youngest daughter of the late Wallace and Louise Hyslop of Tower Hill, N.B.
Alice is survived by her husband, Frank; daughter, Barbara; son, Bruce; son-in-law, Howie; daughter-in-law, Allison; and grandson, Blake.
She is also survived by her four sisters, Miriam Murray, Eva MacLeod, Jean Christie and Christine Wilson; as well as several nieces, nephews, in-laws and cousins. She also had a wealth of friends both in Ontario and New Brunswick.
Alice, a retired school teacher, spent most of her career in Hamilton, where she and husband, Frank, raised their family. Retiring in 1989, they returned to the family farm on Tower Hill where she was an active member of the community through Women’s Institute, United Church Women, Royal Canadian Legion and Jr. Ladies Auxiliary. Alice also enjoyed quilting and crafts, as well as spending time with family and friends at their cottage on Oak Bay.
Alice had a special charm and with that embraced everyone she met. Most will remember her sense of humour that made it easy to care for her during her final days, easy to love her during her full and wonderful life, and easy to remember her as a warm, fun-loving woman and friend.

Mitchell, George Allen
Unexpectedly at his residence at Stuart Town, Deer Island, N.B., on March 3, 2009, George Allen Mitchell, beloved husband of Carmen J. (Lank) Mitchell. Born at Eastport, Me., on Nov. 19, 1925, he was a son of the late Judson and Alma (English) Mitchell.
A loving husband, father and grandfather, George is survived by his wife, Carmen; one son, Dale (Lois) Mitchell and one daughter; Jane Susan (Gary) Conley, both of Stuart Town, N.B.; four grandchildren: Drew (Mireille) Conley, of Stuart Town, N.B., Stephanie (Shane) Borthwick, of St. George, N.B., Abbie Mitchell, of Stuart Town, N.B., and Judson Mitchell (Fallon Miller), of Lord’s Cove, N.B.; three great-grandchildren: Rowan Borthwick, Cohen Mitchell and Sophia Conley; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by two brothers and one sister.
George was a self-employed fisherman by trade. He was an avid outdoorsman, who loved hunting as well as fishing, which was his life and his hobby. He was always active in both the local sardine and lobster fishery. He was a long-time and very active member of the Lambert’s Cove Baptist Church and made his family his life.
Rested at the Lambert’s Cove Baptist Church, Lambert’s Cove, N.B., from where the service was held on Friday, March 6, 2009 at 2 p.m., with Rev. Maurice Hatfield officiating; followed by interment in Mount Hope Cemetery.
Visiting was held at the church on Thursday.

Allanson, John Robert James
Unexpectedly at the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen, N.B., on March 4, 2009, John Robert James Allanson, loving husband of Jean (Eva) Allanson, of Canal, N.B. He was born at Preston, England on Nov. 23, 1924, a son of the late Christopher and Louise Allanson.
A loving husband, father, grandfather and brother, he is survived in addition to his wife, Jean, by one daughter, Valerie (Steve) Titus, of Dawson City, Yukon; grandchildren: Debbie (Kevin) Shaw, of Canal, N.B., John Whyte, of Nanaimo, B.C., and Sheryll Mullan, of Dawson City, Yukon; great-grandchildren: Jacklyn Shaw, of Edmonton, Alta., Tamara and Matthew Mullan, both of Dawson City, Yukon; one sister, Hilda (Andy) Woodward, of Woodstock, N.B.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by three sisters: Audrey, Lois and June.
John and his family moved to St. George in the early 1980’s to work at the mines at Mount Pleasant, until their closure. After his retirement, he continued to live in the area and worked in his garage which he loved to do.
By John’s request, there will be no visiting or service at the funeral home.
In his memory, donations to the Charlotte County Cancer Society, New Brunswick Heart And Stroke Foundation or a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.

Robichaud, Paul Brian
Paul Brian Robichaud, 63, died peacefully at home, Calais, Me., with his family at his side on Tuesday, April 14, 2009 after a short illness. Paul was born in Sydney Mines, N.S., on Dec. 31, 1945.
He was a guide in St. Stephen for many years and loved to take rides in the woods with his friend, Doug, to see if they could see wildlife and be ready for hunting season.
Surviving are his wife of 19 years, Denise (Huntley) Robichaud; a daughter, Brandy; a son, Jesse; two stepsons, Joshua Reardon and his wife, Danielle, and Lucas Reardon and his companion, Christine Gower; a special granddaughter, Paige; and a step-grandson, Ashton; and his mother-in-law, Nina Huntley.
Paul was predeceased by his parents, Eric and Evelyn Robichaud.
Visiting hours will be held 6-8 p.m. (U.S. time) Thursday, April 16, at Mays Funeral Home, 26 Church St., Calais, Me.
A celebration of Paul’s life will be held at 2 p.m. (U.S. time) Friday, April 17, 2009, at the funeral home.
Burial will be private.
Duchesneau, L. Paul
At the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen, N.B., on March 7, 2009, L. Paul Duchesneau of Oak Bay, N.B., passed away peacefully with his family by his side. He was born July 21, 1937, the oldest son of the late Leo and Mynia (Young) Duchesneau.
Paul served his country in the Canadian Navy from 1956-61. He was also a long-time member of the Milltown Legion and Local 946 Canadian Operating Engineers. He was particularly proud of his contribution to the construction of the Saint John Regional Hospital in the early 1980s.
He is survived by his wife, Madelyn (Seamans); his children: Margie (Stephen Smith), Bob (Madeline McDaniels), Bill, Susan (Andy Gallant), and Melissa Kaestner; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brothers and sisters, Janet (late Jim Ott), Bob (Annette Hawthorne), Pauline (Frank Sadler), and Rose Marie (Larry MacDonald); numerous nieces and nephews.
