Miss Veda Leila Ogden
March 11, 1929 - August 24, 2007
Miss Veda Leila Ogden of Moncton, NB, passed away peacefully at the Victoria General Hospital in Halifax, NS after a courageous battle with cancer on Friday, August 24th, 2007 at the age of 78. Born in Sunny Brae (Moncton) NB, Veda was the daughter of the late Charles and Ethel (Keith) Ogden. Veda was also a member of the Royal Canadian Air Force for 3 years and a former employee of Honeywell in Moncton & Toronto, for 20 years. She was an avid bowler in the Moncton and Riverview area as well as in Tarpon Springs, Florida. Veda is survived by her sisters, Elayn Ayles of Riverview, NB, Eileen LeBlanc (Louis) of Pierrefonds, QC, Lynn Ogden of Moncton, NB, Lee LeBlanc of Moncton, NB, her brothers, Charles “Chuck” Ogden (Gail) of Truro, NS, Cedric “Ted” Ogden (Ruth) of Moncton, NB, her sisters-in-law, Joyce Ogden & Elizabeth Ogden both of Moncton, NB and by several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, Morris & Arnold Ogden. In keeping with Veda’s wishes, there will be no visitation at the funeral home. Funeral service will be held from Fair Haven Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, August 28th, 2007 at 2 O’clock with Rev. Gordon James officiating. Burial to follow at Fair Haven Memorial Gardens Serenity Niche. The Ogden family would appreciate donations to any charity. Mr. Raymond Russell Gall
May 29, 1927 - August 25, 2007
Raymond R. Gall of Moncton, formally of Winnipeg and Montreal, husband of the late Irene (Hammer) Gall. Raymond passed away at The Moncton Hospital on Saturday, August 25th, 2007 at the age of 80 years. Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, he was the only child of the late James and Elizabeth (Henderson) Gall. A past member of the Mason's & Shiners in Montreal. He retired from Wabaso Ltd. Raymond is survived by his daughters, Barbara (Wolfgang Bochardt) Gall of Cap-Pele, Carol Gall (Jerome Chisholm) of Kingston, ON, 4 grandchildren, Jennifer, Christine (Joel Hanson), Virginia & Scott, a great grandchild Katelyn Ashley, better known to her grandpa as Gurgles. Memorial service will be held at Camden Park Terrace Chapel, 55 Camdem Cr., Moncton on Wednesday, August 29th, 2007 at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. Father Michael Robson officiating. In his memory, donations can be made to the NB Heart & Stroke Foundation or to the Sackville Memorial Foundation. Mr. Clarence E Flewelling
August 14, 1920 - August 26, 2007
Clarence E. Flewelling of Moncton, husband of the late Ruby Flewelling (Richardson), passed away at Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital on Sunday, August 26th, 2007 at the age of 87 years. Born in Sangudo, Alberta, he was the son of the late Ernest H. and Amy C. (Cole) Flewelling. Clarence was a veteran of the Second World War, serving with the New Brunswick Rangers and The Cameron Highlanders of Ottawa. Serving in Canada, United Kingdom and he was part of the Liberation of Holland. He would return to Holland as a veteran many times after the war. Member of the Royal Canadian Branch # 6, Moncton and member of the Riverview Veterans Association, member of the Golden Age Bowling League. He retired from Canadian National Railway as a carman after a 40-year career. A member Wesley Memorial United Church. Clarence loved to share stories of his railway days and his time overseas. He is survived by his only son, Charles (Susan) of Moncton, 2 grandchildren, Drew (Jill) Flewelling & Charlotte Flewelling all of Moncton, a special friend Anna St. Laurent of Moncton. Besides his parents, Clarence was predeceased by his wife Ruby in 1997. A legion service will be held from Fair Haven Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, August 31st, 2007 at 1:45 p.m. followed by the Funeral Service at 2 p.m. with Rev. Jim MacDonald officiating with burial to follow at Fair Haven Memorial Gardens. The family would appreciate donations to the Kidney Foundation or to a charity of the donor’s choice. Mrs. Myrtle Irene WHITE
August 14, 1917 - September 7, 2007
White, Myrtle Irene - passed away at the Charlotte County Hospital on September 7, 2007. Wife of the late Morton Albert White.
Born in St. Stephen, a daughter of the late Chester and Josephine (Davis) Purdy.
Myrtle will be sadly missed by five sons, Laurence (Lois) of St. Andrews, Allan (Hazel) of Saint John, Guy (Ann Marie) of St. Stephen, Ronald (Lee) of Saint John, Gordon (Janice) of Saint John as well as 14 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and one great grandson. She will also be sadly missed by four sisters, Margaret, Irma, Lillian, Geraldine and several nieces and nephews.
She was a homemaker most of her life. She was involved with Denis Morris Memorial Home and School. Denis Morris Seniors Lancaster Baptist Ladies Auxillary, Forty Years with Scouts Canada, Lancaster Baptist Missionary Society. She was an active Bowler and a member of the Conservative Party.
Besides her husband Morton, Myrtle was predeceased by four sisters and three brothers.
Resting at Castle "Fallsview Chapel" Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John (634-1701) with visitation on Monday September 10, 2007 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm.
Funeral service will be held from the Fallsview Chapel at 11:00 am followed by a reception at the Lancaster Baptist Church Hall.
Interment in Ocean View Memorial Gardens.
Donations in memory of Myrtle may be made to: The Lincourt Manor. Lancaster Baptist Church. The charity of the donor’s choice.
Mr. E. Garnett Soucoup
February 14, 1935 - September 6, 2007
Garnett Soucoup, husband of Pauline of Moncton, passed away at The Moncton Hospital on Thursday, September 6th 2007, following a lengthy illness.
Born in Moncton, February 14th 1935, he was the son of the late Daniel and Emily (Powers) Soucoup. Garnet was a veteran of the Korean War, having served as a Gunner with the RCHA.
Garnet retired from Pepsi Cola (Maritime Beverages), Moncton, following 30 years of service.
He was a member of the Air Force Veterans Club, The Sgt. Mess, CFB Moncton, and Country Meadows Golf Club.
An avid hunter and fisherman, he enjoyed his summers fishing salmon on the Miramichi as well as duck and deer hunting in Albert Co.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Pauline Soucoup, daughter Sandra and son-in-law Dale Vautour of Moncton, granddaughter Candice Wade (Joshua) of Portland, Oregon, brothers, Jim and Willard Soucoup, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a daughter Sharon Ann, son Michael Daniel both in infancy and brothers Ernest and Herman.
Resting at Fair Haven Funeral Home, with visitation on Sunday, September 9th from 7 to 9pm and Monday, September 10th from 1 to 2pm.
The Funeral service will be held at 2pm on Monday, September 10th 2007, from the Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor David Way presiding.
A reception for Garnett’s friends and family will follow the service in the Garden View Reception room.
Interment in Fair Haven Memorial Gardens.
The family would appreciate donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick, the SPCA or to a memorial of the donor’s choice.
