Janice Marian CHAPMAN (Whelan)
July 8, 1954 - September 10, 2007
The death of Janice Marian (Whelan) Chapman of West Saint John, occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital, on September 10, 2007.
Born in Saint John, on July 8, 1954, she was the daughter of Frederick and Anita (McCabe) Whelan.
Janice was a devoted mother to her daughter, Kathleen (daughter of Dale Chapman and niece of Lori Chapman).
In addition to her daughter and parents, Janice is survived by: brothers, John (Margaret) Whelan and their children Alex, Jennifer (goddaughter) and Jonathan, and Thomas (Heather) Whelan and their son Padraic, all of Saint John, and her sisters Beth Whelan of Saint John and Anne Marie (Gregory) Drodge and their children Mitchell and Stacey of Halifax, as well as several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Janice was a member of the Our Lady of the Assumption Church.
She graduated from St. Vincent's High School and attended Dalhousie University where she earned her degree in Pharmacy.
She was employed by Shoppers Drug Mart (formerly Wasson's Pharmacy) on Crown Street in Saint John.
Janice will be remembered for her generous spirit, love of family and friends, her commitment to her profession and her smile.
She enjoyed summer vacations at her trailer, as well as gardening and crafts, and the pride and joy of her life - Kathleen.
Special thanks to Dr. Kolyvas, Janice Kenney, and all the medical staff in Emergency, Radiotherapy, NICU, 4B South, and the Palliative Care Unit at the Saint John Regional Hospital for their specialized care and compassion given to Janice and her family.
Resting at Castle Funeral Homes, "Fallsview Chapel", 309 Lancaster Ave. with visitation on Tuesday, September 11, 2007 from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday, September 12, 2007 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, September 13, 2007 at 12:00 p.m. from Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church on Dufferin Row.

David Alexander ROSE
July 5, 1945 - September 11, 2007
David Alexander Rose passed away unexpectedly at the Saint John Regional Hospital on September 11, 2007.
Born in Saint John, son of the late Lillian and J. Clifford Rose.
David is survived by his wife, Deborah, son, Clifford (Carly Morrison), granddaughter, Sydney and one sister, Lynne (John) Killam.
He will also be sadly missed by his brothers-in-law, Doug and Dale as well as a sister-in-law, Nancy Russell and several nieces and nephews.
David was a long distance trucker for many years and found his home as a heavy equipment operator at Galbraith Construction.
Arrangements entrusted with Castle "Fallsview Chapel" Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John (634-1701).
In respect with David's wishes there will be no visitation.
A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, September 16, 2007 from the Fallsview Chapel.

Mrs. Sharon Patricia MacDonald
September 13, 2007
MacDONALD, Sharon Patricia, 65, Summerville/Moncton, N.B., passed away suddenly on Thursday, September 13, 2007, in QEII Health Sciences Centre.
Born in Amherst, she was a daughter of the late Gerald and Alice (Steeves) Ashton.
She was employed in the hospitality industry for many years.
She was an avid gardener. She enjoyed playing golf and curling.
She will be sorely missed by her Dalmatian, Buddy, and black Lab, Sally.
She is survived by her husband of 21 years, John; daughter, Cathy (Tim) McEachern, Riverview, N.B.; son, Shane Geldart, Moncton; grandchildren, Mathew and Christina; brother, Gerald (Mary) Ashton, Moncton; sisters, Diana (Donald) Jones, Sussex, N.B.; Geraldine DeMedeiros, Toronto; Dawne (Randy) McCullum, Caledonia Mountain, N.B.; several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her sister, Shirley Weir. Cremation has take place.
A celebration of Sharon's life will be at a later date.
Donations in memory may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of choice.
Charles Andrew BROWN
September 2, 1920 - September 21, 2007
The death of Charles Andrew Brown occurred at the Carleton Kirk Lodge on Sept. 21 after a lengthy illness.
Born in Saint John West on Sept 2, 1920, he was the son of the late George & Nellie Brown (Morrison).
Charles was employed by the CP Railway for 37 years, retiring as Conductor.
He was a member and past treasurer of Local 1217 UTU, past NB Legislative Chairman of the UTU, past Treasurer of Hillsborough Railroad, Past President of the Epworth Park Outing Association, former member of Westfield Golf & County Club and Carleton Curling Club.
Charles is survived by his wife of 66 years, Florence (Peggy Swain), daughter Sue, son Phillip (Christin) grandson, Armstrong and granddaughters, Elizabeth and Aldrin, Toronto; sisters-in-law, Katherine Powell, Frances Urquhart and Helen Boone; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Charles was predeceased by a son, Christopher, a brother, Gordon and sisters, Muriel and Pearl.
At his request there will be no visitation.
Arrangements are under the care of Castle Fallsview.
A celebration of Charles life will be held on Sept. 25 at 2:00pm at St. Jude’s Church, 325 St. James St. West.
Reception to follow at Fallsview Reception Centre.
In lieu of flowers Charles requested that donations be made to: The charity of the donor’s choice.
Mr. Roy Vincent Sadler
November 22, 1919 - September 21, 2007
Sadler Roy Vincent (1919-2007) passed away peacefully on September 21, 2007 at the Georges Dumont Hospital.
Born in Halifax the oldest son of the late Guy and Margaret (Hurdis) Sadler, he was the loving husband of Elsie (Boutilier) Sadler for 64 years.
Roy was a WWII war veteran and retired captain after 24 years service.
During his army career he served in the Middle East earning the Canadian Peacekeeping Service Medal.
For his second career, Roy received a Teacher's License-Vocational from the Province of New Brunswick and taught at the N.B.I.T. until retirement at the age 63.
During this period he was active on the Cook Provincial Advisory Committee for the Department of Labour and Manpower and also served in various positions for the Canadian Restaurant Association including a term as President for the NBCRA.
Roy was an avid camper and an accomplished woodworker.
He had a strong love for music and played several instruments.
Besides his wife, Elsie, Roy will be sadly missed by his son, Jim (Joanne) of Moncton, daughter, Judy Sadler of Halifax, three grandchildren, Jill (Fred) Malpass, Joey Sadler and Jeff Sadler.
He will also be sadly missed by a sister, Shirley Bell of Dartmouth and was predeceased by a brother, Charlie.
Arrangements entrusted with Fair Haven Funeral Home, 1177 Salisbury Road, Moncton.
Memorial service to be held on Tuesday, September 25, 2007 at 2:00 pm from Fair Haven Funeral Home Chapel.
A reception to follow in the Garden View Reception Room.
Interment in Fairhaven Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers remembrances in memory of Roy may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
Muriel SCHWARTZ
June 13, 1913 - August 25, 2007
SCHWARTZ - It is with deep sadness that I announce the peaceful passing of my beloved mother on Friday, August 24th, 2007, at the Turnbull Home, Saint John, N.B.
Born on June 13th, in London, England, she came to Canada in 1946 as a war bride, and resided in Montreal until 2001.
She is survived by her remaining daughter, Maureen Donnelly (Séamus), Quispamsis, N.B. and her stepdaughter Henny Dagenais (André), Brampton, Ontario. Predeceased by husbands John Ward of Montreal, Quebec, and Karl Schwartz of Drummondville, Quebec, and her dear daughter Christine of Saint Bruno, Quebec.
Muriel was a kind and generous person, who loved life and enjoyed it to the fullest. She will be sadly missed but never forgotten.
Visitation will be held on Monday, August 27th, from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. with the funeral service being held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, all in Castle Funeral Home “Kings Chapel” 154 Hampton Road, Rothesay, N.B.
