Archibald MacAskill
Moncton, N.B.

Archibald MacAskill of West Lane, Moncton, N.B., formerly of St. Catharines, Ont., passed away Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2000, at the Moncton Hospital.

He was born Nov. 28, 1936, in Rear Little River, Cape Breton, N.S.

He was the son of Rachel (MacDonald) and the late John MacAskill.

He was a member of the Seafarers Union, where he served as a watchman until his retirement.

He is survived by his wife, Gemma MacAskill (Gallant); his mother, Rachel MacAskill, Englishtown, N.S.; three daughters, Roxanne MacAskill, Toronto, Audra Campbell and Shannon MacAskill, both of St. Catharines, Ont.; a son, Brian MacAskill, Toronto; stepdaughter, Rose Mary Thebeau, Dartmouth; three stepsons, Raymond Gallant, St. Catharines, Daniel Thebeau, Moncton, N.B. and Arsene Thebeau, Oshawa; five brothers, Murdoch, Brantford, Ont., George, St. Catharines, Donald, Edmonton, John, Sackville, N.S., and Charlie, Sydney, N.S.; two sisters, Kay Buchanan and Mora MacLean, both of Englishtown, N.S.

He was predeceased by two brothers, Nelson and Norman, two sisters, Sadie and Joan.

There will be no visiting hours by request.

The funeral service will be held Sunday, Aug. 27, at 2 p.m. from St. Anne’s Bay United Church, Indian Brook, Cape Breton, N.S.

Interment will take place at the MacDonald Family Cemetery, Breton Cove, N.S.

The funeral arrangements are under the direction of Cadman’s Funeral Home, 114 Alma St., Moncton, N.B. (506)857-1110.

William Francis (Roy) Campbell
73, Waterville, N.B.

William Francis (Roy) Campbell, Waterville, N.B., passed away peacefully in his sleep at the Oromocto Public Hospital, Monday, July 24, 2000, at the age of 73.

Born in Glace Bay, N.S., he was the son of the late William and Beatrice (Boozan) Campbell.

He leaves to mourn, his wife, Rebecca (Vaders) Campbell; one son, David and his wife Brenda, Geary, N.B.; grandchildren, Steven, Michael and Nicholas; sisters, Eva (Mrs. Robert Moore), Rita Cann (Harold), Pearl Moore (Albert), Rose Kosick (Alex), Barbara Simmons (Hector), Doreen Gillis (Francis) and Dianne, all of Glace Bay, N.S.; brothers, Robert Campbell (Mary), Wayne Campbell (Agnes), David Campbell (Dianne), and Eric Campbell (Brenda), all of Glace Bay, N.S. and Charles Campbell (Claire), Surette Island, Yarmouth County, N.S.

Predeceased by his parents and two infant brothers, Aubrey and Robert Campbell.

William was a veteran of the Second World War 1944, with the Highland Battalion.

He served in Germany, Black Watch in 1951 to 1953 and then again in 1959-1962.

He served at CFB Gagetown from 1962-1970 and two Royal Canadian Regiment CFB Gagetown from 1970-1976.

Decorations, 39-45 War Medal, NATO Medal, UN Medal Cyprus, Canadian Forces decorations and Clasp. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 93, NB Chapter RCH (Black Watch) member 649, Club Maritime CFB Gagetown and he was a member of the United Church of Canada.

The family will receive visitors at Oromocto Funeral Home, 108 Winnebago St., Tuesday, July 25 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.

Funeral service will be held at the Oromocto Funeral Home Chapel, Wednesday, July 26 at 2 p.m., Rev. Bob Jones officiating.

Interment will take place in Geary French Lake Waterville Community Cemetery.

For those who wish, memorial tributes made to the New Brunswick Lung Association would be appreciated by the family.

The Royal Canadian Legion, Branch No. 93 and Black Watch NB Charter Association will hold a Tribute Service at the Funeral Home, Tuesday at 7 p.m.

Margaret Mina (Winter) McDonald
84, Fredericton, NB

Mina McDonald, 84, formerly of Sydney, N.S., died peacefully at York Manor Nursing Home, Fredericton, N.B., on Thursday, March 30, 2000.

Born in Maxville, Ont., she was the daughter of the late Warren and Lyda (McWhinnie) Winter.

The family moved to Montreal when Mina was a young girl. Mina studied library science at Northwestern University, Evanston, Ill. and thereafter graduated from MacDonald College, Montreal, Que.

She taught at Guy Drummond School in Outremont, Que. before her marriage.

Mina was married to Judge John F. McDonald, who predeceased her.

They resided in Sydney, N.S., and during her 45 years in Cape Breton Mina was an active community and church volunteer.

She was past president of Unit 4 of the UCW, St. Andrew’s United Church, Sydney and worked for the Canadian Cancer Society and Canadian Diabetes Association’s financial campaigns.

She enjoyed gardening and making crafts with her sewing group.

Mina was blessed with a cheerful manner and always had a word of encouragement for everyone.

During her years at York Manor she enjoyed serving on the residents’ council, painting and visiting with friends and her Fredericton family.

She is survived by her daughters, Marie Gialloreto (Louis), Montreal, Que., Louise Cooke (Michael), Halifax, N.S.; grandchildren, Matthew Gialloreto, William and Jamie Cooke; brother, Thomas Winter (Margaret), Oromocto, N.B.; niece, Anne Morrow (Gerard), Sydney, Cape Breton, N.S.; nephews, Matthew McDonald (Jane), Sydney, Cape Breton, N.S., Allan Winter (Shirley), Rothesay, N.B., Brian Winter (Wendy), Calgary, Alta., Douglas Winter (Charlotte), Fredericton, N.B.; cousin, Jean Anderson, Fredericton, N.B. and four grandnieces and two grandnephews.

Mina was predeceased by her sister, Muriel Beachell.

A memorial service will be held at York Manor Nursing Home, 100 Sunset Dr., Fredericton at 2 p.m. April 3, 2000 with Peter Somerville, director of pastoral care, York Manor officiating.

A reception will be held following the service.

A committal service will be held in Sydney, N.S. at a later date.

Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, York Manor Nursing Home, or to the charity of your choice would be appreciated.

Please no flowers by request of the family.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the McAdam’s Funeral Home, 160 York St., Fredericton, N.B. (506) 458-9170.

Donna Louise (Craig) Milbury
94, Woodstock, N.B.

Donna Louise (Craig) Milbury, 94, of Woodstock, N.B. died peacefully, Monday, April 10, 2000, at the Carleton Manor surrounded by members of her family.

Born in Mildford, N.B. she was the daughter of the later Harry and Annie (Willis) Galey and was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

She was a long-time member of the Anglican Church of the Good Shepherd in (Fairville) Lancaster, N.B. before moving to Woodstock, N.B. where she attended St. Lukes Anglican Church.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a son, Vernon Craig and her first husband, Keith Craig, second husband, Morley Milbury and brothers, Addy, Curtis and Norman.

She is survived by sons, Owen (Jennifer), Sydney, N.S., Curtis (Beverly), Salisbury, N.B. and daughters Mildred (Donald Nason) and Valeria (David Monteith), Woodstock, N.B.

Also surviving are 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, three nephews and two nieces.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial graveside service for the family will be held at a later date.

Capt. Donald W. McMullen
New Brunswick

The death of Capt. Donald William (Don) McMullen of the Loch Lomond Villa, husband of the late Marjorie Elizabeth McMullen, occurred on Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2000, at the Saint John Regional Hospital.

Born in Montreal, Que., he was the son of the late William Peter and Ida Ruby (Stevenson) McMullen.

Capt. McMullen was a captain with the Canadian Coast Guard for 25 years, retiring in 1982. He was a member of the Hibernia Lodge F & AM, Luxor Temple of the Shrine, the Company of Master Mariners, the Clan MacMillan Society of North America and member and former Elder of Centenary Queen Square United Church.

He is survived by one son, Rev. Christopher William McMullen and his wife Valda, Lepreau; one daughter, Audrey Maureen McMullen and her fiance Michael Waugh, Saint John; two grandchildren, Daniel James and Ian Christopher.

The family will receive visitors at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting Thursday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.

A memorial service will he held at the Church of St. Andrew and St. David, Friday, Feb. 4, 2000 at 2 p.m.

Remembrances to the Benevolent Fund of the Church of St. Andrew and St. David or the Shriner’s Hospitals System for Children would be appreciated by the family.

Dorothy MacIsaac
Oromocto, N.B.

Dorothy MacIsaac (nee Stewart) beloved wife of Vincent MacIsaac, loving mother of James, Ronald, Steve, Debbie and friend to sister-in-law, Helen LeForte, Glace Bay, passed quietly into her eternal reward on Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2000, in Oromocto, N.B.

Funeral services will be held Friday, 11 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Church, Oromocto.

Donations may be made to Villa Madonna Retreat House, Bras d’Or.
